I honestly can’t recommend StudySmart Tutoring enough for A-Level Chemistry. Their help really made a huge difference for me, especially when it came to getting a grip on some of the trickier topics which I didn’t cover in as much depth in school. One of the things I really appreciated was how quickly I was able to get through the entire AS Chemistry syllabus—about 3–4 months ahead of my class. Being ahead meant I could go back and properly review the harder topics, like organic chemistry reactions and equilibrium, without the stress of keeping up with everyone else. The tutors really understood where I was struggling, and they made sure to focus on those areas so I could work through them at my own pace. But it wasn’t just about covering the content quickly—it was also about learning the best way to tackle the exam. We spent a lot of time on exam technique, like how to approach tricky reaction questions and how to pick up easy marks. By the time exam season came around, I felt so much more confident, knowing I had these shortcuts and strategies to help me get through the papers faster and with fewer mistakes.

Ultimately the sessions allowed me to achieve the A* prediction needed to apply for my desired Medical and Dental schools- definitely worth it!

John helped me throughout my UCAT revision with his special tips and techniques. If I had any questions he was always ready and willing to help address them. Couldn't recommend him enough!

Really good tutor, great at guiding you through the different tests and giving tips and tricks. AR flashcards helped a lot more than I expected and got me from 420 to 560 :)

Was a great tutor for my interview preparation.

John has been incredibly helpful during my interview preparation. Not only were the sessions incredibly informative and useful, John also ensures that in his own free time he responds to any queries, which suggests to me that he wishes the best for his students. I also noticed that John always ensures to give constructive criticism - whenever my mind went blank and I couldn’t answer a question, John was empathetic and made sure to explain certain points incredibly well so I could take the feedback on board. Overall, I would strongly suggest using John as a tutor if you are in need of additional help for dentistry/medicine interviews, and even if I don’t receive an offer I can confidently say that the sessions were incredibly useful.

Really happy with my daughter's experience with her tuition. Started in September working at a grade 5 in her science gcse and in almost 2 months was able to achieve a 7 in her mocks, with detailed lessons and independent work resources provided. I would absolutely recommend to anyone who is in a similar position.

Right after my first Ucat lesson with my tutor my score for VR increased by 11 marks instantly, we tackled my weak areas by attempting lots of questions with unique techniques allowing me to improve my score for each section rapidly. I’m also being tutored for chemistry a level and the speed of the content covered put me ahead of school by months. The way content is taught is very specific to the mark scheme which allowed to go from a B to an A* in my recent mock. Furthermore, interview support was excellent I received very thorough and detailed feedback which resulted in me getting an offer from Exeter for medicine.

My weakness being QR meant that John was able to target the sessions now specifically to the QR, ensuring that i am able to understand as much as possible. His techniques on how to answer the questions was definitely the reason i was able to achieve 2850 B2.
