Beware: substantial rate increases every three months
I also used to rent from Minikahda and they were fabulous. StorageMart on the other hand.... First, after 3 months they will raise your rent approximately 15%. This is in the fine print, so read carefully. Then they will continue to increase your rent every few months. When I questioned why I was paying hundreds of dollars more than there advertised rents, they told me I would have to move units every three months in order to get the lower prices. What??! Its not like it is easy to move a room full of furniture. If you are looking for longer term storage, this is NOT the place for you.
Additionally, staffing is minimal. When I was there the other day, there was a sign on the office door "Out to lunch. Back at 12:25 pm". When I went back at 12:30 the time had been altered to 1:00 pm. I had to wait about 2 hours in order to talk to someone. Then later that afternoon, I stopped by the office again to return a lock I purchased from them (which broke the first time I used it) and again, there was no one there. I just shrugged and left $20 bucks poorer. Cannot recommend.

If I could give a lower star than one I would. Anybody that’s thinking about using these guys for your storage think again. I have been renting from them for two years originally it was a different company, but was bought out by them immediately. My rent started going up and hasn’t stopped since I’ve been there. They send the notice that my rent will be increase in an invoice that is always sent to me every month of what I paid last month and I’m supposed to check every single email that comes in to make sure there’s not a rent increase. They blame everything on corporate when it comes to why they’re raising the prices and of course, I can always talk to a supervisor, but it gets you nowhere. I am looking for a new Storage. They are a scam and they are money, hungry A-Holes!

I was paying for climate control for a couple of years and like many of you the price will keep going up when they felt like it! Then as I was going to move my stuff out from one unit to one of their lower cost units outside. However; I had mold and mildew on all my stuff from being in the climate control unit! The manager Sunny said she will speak to the manager to extend me time to clean it and it get it moved out into the other unit, on the other hand it was not extended to me and the price still went up for a unit that did not protect my stuff! I don’t think these people really feel or understand your loss or pain all they seem to care about is the money and I still have a 2nd unit with them. How unethical can this be??? 😞😞

Rip off!
Rented a unit and got a door that was broken. The manager said he would have maintenance fix it before we moved in. That didn’t happen. To top it off I was charged $30 more dollars after a month of renting!!!! I called to complain about the door and huge price increase and the response was, “well they don’t tell us when they change prices and can do it whenever they feel like it.”
Absolutely disgusted!!! I wouldn’t have moved my items here if I had known it was going to change immediately. Now I am in the process of looking for another unit elsewhere. I don’t recommend.

Do not sign a contract with StorageMart!!! I signed a contract in the middle of May, because of their rates, but Aug 1st, my rates went up 20%. I was told that they can change the rates month to month when they feel it's needed. If you plan to use storage for more than one month, don't use them!!!!!!!

I love love love the storage mart location 1015 n halsted . The customer service is amazing and my first experience was so easy, helpful and fast America and Cory and I’m sorry I forgot the other gentleman’s name he’s the maintenance man . They all were so nice and professional everything they did was perfect I truly appreciate and recommend any one in need of a storage to come to 2015 n halsted you won’t regret it .
The Horror of Renting With StorageMart
Jan 10th/2024 my nightmare began with this horrible company. My ex husband was caught locked inside the compound at StorageMart location Regina SK. Canada. He had a vehicle full of all my personal belongings. 5 113L craftsman bins were left emptied in my storage locker. All my clothes, shoes,jewelry, purses, jackets, wedding gown, etc was inside those tubs. The employee brought him inside the office knowing he wasn't a lease holder, nor authorized on my policy to gain entry to my locker. She had caught him mid theft. She allowed him to leave with all my belongings inside the vehicle he was driving. He had gained access to my unit by forced entry. Using bolt cutters to destroy the locking mechanisim. (Which I have pictures of) He had utilized another patrons gate code to move in and out of that compound undetected. Unbeknownst to me, he had been in my locker twice before that night he was caught. I had a 3bdrm 2.5 bath house worth of property in that locker. It was so full you couldn't step foot inside that locker. Upon revelation after my father and I came into the city the night after she caught him in the compound, my worst nightmare began. Seeing as he replaced my lock with his own, the employee who caught him had to cut the lock off. Opening that door to my shock and utter horror 90% of my locker was emptied. Everything was gone!! It is one of the most heartbreaking and trauma inducing situations I've ever endured. By the state of the locking mechanisim being torn apart forced entry was apparent. He utilized the other patrons gate code to move in and out of that compound undetected. The employee who caught him, failed to do her job and enforce StorageMart policy. A policy that states "Only the lease holder and any authorized users on the lease may have access to your storage unit". That is policy! That is company policy and she failed to uphold that policy, allowing him to leave , caught mid theft, with all my personal possessions. Company policy states that they aren't even allowed to speak about your unit , let alone allow a non policy holder to access your unit. I lost everything on account of StorageMart, and that employee failing to enforce policy and call the authorities. Which would have prevented the loss of a substantial dollar amount in my property. Due to complete gross negligence on behalf of StorageMart I have lost everything. The patron who's gate code was utilized was complicit in the theft, and break and enter. She knew his intent, being as my ex husband is her roommate. No one has been heald accountable for what has happened to me. I've been waiting for someone in an authoritative position to contact me. I want accountability for what happened on behalf of the employee who caught my ex spouse mid theft and allowed him to leave with my possessions. I want the individual who shared her gate code heald accountable she is an acessory to premediated theft. My ex husband never had a gate code, he never had keys to my locker, and he wasn't authorized on my policy. 2 years I paid on my locker without incident, and I had a direct conversation with that employee days prior. Concerned about this very thing happening. I did my due diligence, and I was failed by that employee who had a job to do. One decision to forego policy and uphold company standards. One decision which would have prevented the loss of my personal possessions. Everything I owned was in that locker, and it's all gone .Tens of thousands of dollars worth of my belongings stolen. No one is being heald accountable for what happned. I want justice and I want accountability for what happened. This wasn't a couple of tvs and some electronics etc. ..that locker was full to the brim, with a substantial dollar amount inside that locker. Now, the insurance department head has dismissed my claim, because I stated I want accountability for what happened. I suggest someone from corporate be in touch with me. I have called the contact center twice and I still haven't received a call back. What happened is premeditated theft, with multiple people involved with this crime. The magnitude of property loss is substantial. There wasn't a proper investigation done,everything was just swep under the rug. She did this because she knew her mistake was costly and passed all blame, upon everyone else except for herself. She had a job to do, and she failed. I want my insurance claim to commence, and I want accountability on behalf of StorageMart and the employee who never followed company policy. She should have called the police as soon as she caught him locked inside the compound. She did everything except her job. I'm the victim in all of this. I have faced undue financial and emotional duress because of what happened. At every corner the treatment I've received as a patron after 2.5 yrs, is unacceptable!!!
StorageMart "Preferred Customer" Rate? For a VERY limited time only!
I signed a rental agreement with StorageMart on April 13th. They promised me a "Preferred Customer" rate, which made the deal more palatable. Four months later TO THE DAY they send me an email stating my rent has been increased, and POOF the "Preferred Customer" rate is history. Talk about misleading advertising! If I had known that the "Preferred Customer" rate was limited to 4 months I would not have gone through the whole process of moving my excess belongings into their facility. SHAME ON YOU STORAGEMART for using such underhanded, deceitful means to TRICK PEOPLE INTO BECOMING CLIENTS!

I have used StorageMart (Waldorf) for many years and I love how clean the facility is and their helpful staff (especially Menchie). In my opinion she is the best of the best!!! Always helpful and kind whenever I called and needed help. Highly recommend speaking with her if you are interested in renting at this facility.
