This was the very first time I've ordered a cake online. I was looking for a vegan cake for my birthday and was pleasantly surprised by the choice!
My order arrived as planned, it was amazingly well packed -an absolute genius of a courier left the box on it's SIDE instead placing it normally- despite that, the cake did not lose it's shape! Last but not least- cake was absolutely DELISH! Perfect balance of sweetness.

Hi Karolina,
Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re delighted that your first online cake order was a Sponge cake and that you were pleasantly surprised by the choice of vegan cakes.
We’re sorry the courier decided to get creative and leave the box on its side. Thankfully, we’re so pleased to hear the cake stayed in perfect shape despite this.
And most importantly, we’re thrilled you enjoyed the cake and found the sweetness just right. Thank you for choosing Sponge for your birthday, and we hope to bake for you again soon!
Warm regards,
Team Sponge
The 2 cakes I ordered were amazing
The 2 cakes I ordered were amazing! I will absolutely order again! I love that you can order Gluten Free versions of all the cakes. 5 stars on the cakes!
The only criticism I have is that you use Amazon to deliver - this is unfortunate as even though the box says "Fragile" and "This way up" (& I left a note on the door for Amazon to phone me so that they could hand the parcel to me) they dumped the box on it's side leant against the front door, knocked and ran! Perhaps consider a different delivery service. Luck you package the cakes very well!

Hi Nicola,
Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed both cakes and that you love having the option to choose gluten-free versions too.
We’re really sorry, though, that the delivery wasn’t handled with the care we’d expect. Leaving the box on its side, particularly with the “Fragile” and “This Way Up” instructions clearly shown, isn’t how we’d want your order delivered. We’ll make sure your feedback is passed on to the courier team.
We’re glad our packaging helped keep the cakes safe this time, but we completely understand your frustration, especially after leaving instructions for the driver to hand the parcel to you.
Thank you again for your kind words about the cakes and for taking the time to share your feedback. We really appreciate your support and look forward to baking for you again!
Warm regards,
Team Sponge

My niece was really delighted to…
My niece was really delighted to receive the cake slices through her letterbox on her birthday and said they were delicious. Only downside was her eighteen month old daughter decided the lemon drizzle cake was hers and kicked off, big time, when my niece took half. I highly recommend this company. So easy to order and great delivery service and product.

Great tasting gluten free cake and quick delivery.
Only slight problem, the delivery person didn't observe the "keep this way up" signs and left the box on its side propped up against the door. It didn't cause too much of a problem with our cake as was in to sort it out quickly but could be!

We’re sorry to hear that the delivery driver left the box on its side despite the “this way up” instructions. Although thankfully the cake was okay this time, we completely understand that it could easily have caused an issue, so we’ll be sure to raise this with the courier.

Good morning Sarah,
We are very sorry to hear that you were left disappointed with your order and your experience with us.
I can see that a member of our team has already flagged your feedback regarding the missing topper with our packing team. I can also confirm that a full refund for the topper has already been processed back to your original payment method.
With regard to the sponge itself, our Classic Victoria Sponge is made using flour, sugar, butter, milk, jam and natural flavourings, along with the care and attention our team puts into every bake. A full and comprehensive ingredients list is provided with every order for reference.
We appreciate that your sponge did not meet your expectations. However, we can confirm that the product supplied was our Classic Victoria Sponge and was not cornbread. We do not make cornbread, or any similar product, within our bakery.
We are genuinely sorry that you were disappointed with your experience, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. If you would be open to it, we would be happy to send you a fresh cake in a different flavour, so you can hopefully have the Sponge experience you were hoping for!
Kind regards,

I messed up the order date and on the day it was due I realised. I contracted them but they don't do same day delivery which I know isn't an option but they organised it for the next day. It was a human I got in contact with and it felt like a personal approach as if thought talking to a small business. They were very understanding and kind, thank you Bella at Sponge.

I ordered a white chocolate and raspberry cake
I ordered a white chocolate and raspberry cake for my daughters birthday and let me tell you it’s the best cake I have ever had from online bakery and dare I say ever from any where else!!
It’s so so soft and moist beautiful balance of flavours and beautifully decorated too. Delivery was on time, price is actually in my opinion quite low for what you get I would easily pay 30quid for this! I was kept updated through out and was easy to order. My whole family and the birthday girl said the cake was amazing so thank you so much for this amazing piece of deliciousness! Will definitely be ordering again x
