Banned me for “sectarian recordings” because I wore a Celtic top and Ireland jacket to my local spar in bleary, the real reason I believe I was banned was due to the employees being ableist as they had to get items from shelves for me multiple times due to me being in a wheelchair

Amazing how a so-called manager (Sedbury branch) could change the atmosphere of a neighbourhood store and turn it to a confrontational battlefield where racism is a normal practice.
The huge South African manageress with fizzy hair can only be explained as someone who lives to keep the spirit of the apartheid alive. If your skin is not her choice of white, she will make you feel unwelcome and you will be treated with contempt.
You will be made to wait a long time to be served at the tills and unless there is a long queue at the post office counter, no one will show up to serve you and this is almost exclusively when the mentioned manageres is on duty.
I just find it upsetting that people like her are still allowed to freely display their racism freely and openly.

The worker named Ryan has a horrible attitude and throws items at customers

Delivery drivers not respecting the 30mph limit on villages. Regardless of there being dogs, horses, children, elderly people walking this village. I've reported it but because they can't find a store with the villages postcode, they can't escalate it.... I've explained there's no spar in the village but that shouldn't matter!

On 27th March 2026 I purchased a long life milk from my local SPAR on St Annes Road Blackpool. When I got home and poured some it came out like cottage cheese. On checking the date, it went out of date in December 2025. Disgusting. I took it back and asked if I could swap it, and the guys behind the counter looked nervously towards the long life milk shelf and said that he'd prefer to refund onto my card. No proof, but I suspect that he was aware of a wider problem. Just the way he acted. Not great

Requested, multiple times for copy of cctv footage showing a thug, threatening me, an eighty year old, for pointing out he had parked too close to allow me to enter my car.
Referred back and forth, head office, then Blakemore Co, so on and on for over a week with no outcome. We support our local store, they abandon us when it suits

If i could give zero stars for my local store in Lanark in South Lanarkshire I would have. 1 star is too many. After using a delivery service online 99% of the deliveries I have received from this store have been deplorable. The goods have been out of date or wrong items sent. After receiving an abusive call from the store regarding a negative but honest review of the delivery the store manager breached GDPR (data protection) and arrived on my doorstep with an small easter egg to bribe me to remove the review which is a breach of my personal data it is intimidation at best. I am disgusted at this behaviour and these people should look closer at their own faults and problems with staff and stock rotarion before harassing customers at their homes.
I would avoid this store unless you wish to be treated like you are somehow doing them a favour. Far better stores available.

Sunny D 1L drink is 1.25 at Herron Foods; 2.40 at Spar. Many other examples of them ripping people off in deprived areas

Bought their mince carrots and onion with mash fresh meal 🤢 they must use the cheapest mince!!! Full of fatty bits every mouth full had a hard fatty bit

Over in flated prices . £20.35 pack of regal King size . Everything over priced are people so daft to keep lineing the pockets of spar . In today circumstances way people are struggling this company is really over charging with no moral most of the staff need to learn manners and politeness they have no customer skills

I Grenå står der igen en fremtrædende medarbejder og "belære" en kunde om pant systemet. Han lyver oven i købet da jeg blander mig isamtalen. Han påstår at det er lovpligtig at de skal havde en flaskeautomat... manden i det runde tøj er en fornærmelse i købmandskab. Tæl jeres pant, stop maskinen og kald på hjælp ved første "fejl" .. de lyver og stjæler.

Most awful Post Office I’ve ever been to. Customer service is shocking! Spent nearly 20 minutes waiting to get a parcel because princess was counting pennies behind the counter. Every parcel I have received in the past 3 days has been opened! Every time I go to get a parcel I get asked stupid questions even after I show proof of ID! I absolutely despise going here to pick up my parcels!

The post Office counter at my local Spar in Rhosddu Road Wrexham is either unmanned, closed for no apparent reason or operated by staff who have yet to learn to speak.
Today I waited for ten minutes before the assistant finally appeared from the back room. She didn't apologise for the wait. And when she did finally serve me she began chatting with the other staff, paying me very little attention.
Good, helpful and friendly customer service seems to have slowly evaporated over the past few years, especially in the smaller businesses. Such a shame.

I walked into this Spar store on an ordinary day while on a phone call. At the till, the manager asked if that was all, and I nodded — I didn’t want to interrupt my call. That simple gesture was apparently enough for her to ban me permanently from the shop, claiming I was “rude.” i joined another Que but she said no one should serve me.

I returned several weeks later, hoping it was a misunderstanding, but was again refused service and told I was not welcome. I’ve raised this issue with Spar since August, detailing what is clearly discrimination and poor treatment, yet there’s been no response or resolution.

This kind of arrogance and disrespect toward customers is appalling and completely unacceptable from a brand that claims to value community and service. I will never shop at Spar again, and I’d advise others to think twice before supporting a company that tolerates this kind of behaviour. Horrible Horrible Bitter and sad experience. I can nevver understand or get over this type of thing that happened to me. I wrote soo many emails but they just keep saying we are inveatigating. Its really sad and unfortunate. Spar Greenock.
