I have found that South London College are good with the video course content and tutor feedback. However, if you actually need the qualification and certificate within a reasonable timeframe, I would strongly recommend considering other providers.

I completed all of my course requirements and had everything formally acknowledged as complete at the beginning of May. I was told that my work would then go through IQA and EQA, with certification expected by the end of June.

I contacted them this week to ask where my certificate was, only to be told that the IQA process has taken longer than expected and is only now expected to be completed. This means that, despite being told in May that my work was complete and expecting certification in June, my work has sat there for over 3 month and still not been submitted to the awarding body for EQA. There was no communication with me during this period to explain the delay.

I find this extremely disappointing and concerning, particularly as certification is an important part of completing a formal qualification. I am now seeking clarification about the certification process and intend to contact the awarding body directly to confirm my registration and the status of my qualification.

I also have concerns about the way reviews are solicited. Throughout my course, I was repeatedly asked to provide reviews on Trustpilot and other platforms. I was also told that I would not receive a course confirmation reference unless I recorded a video saying how much I had enjoyed the course. Given that some learners appear to be encouraged to review the provider during or shortly after induction/course completion, rather than after receiving their qualification, I think prospective students should bear this in mind when assessing the reviews here.

My experience of the teaching and tutor feedback was positive. My experience of the administration and certification process, however, has been very disappointing. I would therefore advise anyone considering enrolling to ask very specific questions about the awarding body, registration, IQA/EQA process and expected certification timeframe before paying for a course.

It's been a really great experience, and I was able to ask quite few questions that I had about the course and my mentor answered them all patiently and kindly.

The induction best explained and answered my concerns regarding completing the assessments. My mentor created a relaxed induction environment through facial expression and reassurance

I was very happy and satisfied with the way my mentor Anu Daniel made me feel during the zoom induction session and the way she explained all the stages pertaining to my course RQF Level 4 in Adult Care. At the end of the session I was able to understand my expectations and those of South London College and herself as my mentor.

I was honestly a bit nervous before the induction zoom, but the mentor was so warm and welcoming that all my worries immediately went away. They were incredibly patient with all of our questions and explained the assessment plans and evidence sheets in a way that was really easy to follow. I love how supportive the environment felt right from day one. I’m now super excited and ready to start my first unit. Huge thanks to the team for making this feel less overwhelming!
