Untrustworthy - Un-Australian

Please read all terms and conditions carefully before purchasing. I accidentally entered a PO Box as my address; the system accepted the order and charged me for both the item and freight. I was later contacted and asked to pay an additional $285 to deliver to my residential address. This was my mistake & I apologized and requested a refund as I could not afford the additional charge, this request was refused. After reviewing their terms and conditions, I was surprised to discover that they allow freight charges to be adjusted after the sale, with the customer obligated to pay. They also state that any damaged goods are the customer’s responsibility to resolve directly with the transport company. There is no after-sales support. Overall, a very disappointing experience — please be extremely careful.

We pride ourselves on having one of the best customer service teams in Australia, and we want to clarify our policies regarding delivery. As stated on our cart page, we do not accept PO BOX addresses due to the system inability to charge for freight in those cases. Given the size of a pilates trainer, shipping cannot be complimentary, and it is uncommon for such large items to be delivered to a PO BOX which was entered by yourself.

As a gesture of goodwill, we have already reduced the freight cost by $195, selling the product with little to no profit for us. Additionally, you utilized a discount code for further savings.

We value your business and believe you have received a great deal on your pilates trainer. However, we must adhere to our policies regarding shipping for larger items and cannot accommodate requests for free shipping to PO BOX addresses.

While we understand your disappointment, we are unable to provide a refund as it aligns with our policies and consumer law guidelines.

Please don't buy online from this store. They are sending very old stocks . Just 1 or 2 months expiry before dates products are sending.

They are so delayed, refuse refunds even though their very website has a 14day returns policy on it.

They also refused refunds on a bike they admitted was damaged in transit, then they took the damaged bike back regardless without giving a refund. They have breached now six sections of Australian Consumer Law and I am in the middle of both a consumer affairs and now VCAT case. About to put in a police report as this is now classified as theft. DO NOT GIVE THIS BUSINESS YOUR MONEY - if something goes wrong you will never see it back.

Return of Arrow Studio Commercial Air Spin Bike x 3
The history of the complaint:
Products
On 19th June 2024 I bought 3 x Arrow Studio Commercial Air Spin Bikes from Southernxfitness also trading
as Arrow Fitness for a total cost $4,497.00 plus $159.97 shipping. I am in the state of Victoria though
Southern x fitness is in the state of NSW

With an estimated delivery time of 3-7days, I did not expect to have not received the items still after two
weeks. When I finally received two of the spin bikes, the third was missing and was only delivered today 9th
July 2024. The third spin bike came in extremely damaged packaging which was soaking wet.
Prior to this and due to their website stating 14 day returns I contacted them via phone on 29th June asking
for shipping to be cancelled and a refund to be processed as I opened my gym on 1st july and needed the
bikes for opening. As I hadn’t received said bikes on the Saturday 29 June (opening two days later) I had to
purchase some in the meantime.
When I asked for a refund I was told I couldn’t and the director was in hospital with a broken leg so likely
couldn’t respond until Monday at the earliest. I then received some gruesome images of legs which was
quite traumatic and highly inappropriate.
To resolve the issue I have contacted Southernxfitness multiple times over email and phone call to follow
up, over the phone I was told all communication would have to be sent via email and the director was in
hospital (told by a female receptionist). This was very clearly not true as director had been out for a few
days by this stage.
I have dealt with a few of their staff including Anthony, Joey, and mainly Stephanie Dow herself.
Attached is evidence of their misleading website and breaches of the Australian Consumer Law (sections
23, 29, 62, 260, 268).
I am more than happy to answer questions regarding this case along with the defamation threats I have received from this business if I do not withdraw my review.

Further to this the damaged bike was picked up by courier when I was not around and with no warning at my gym after I was threatened it would not be refunded OR replaced until fair trading case resolved.

I have never once used harsh language and this has been an extremely traumatic process with the constant lies from this company. Legal action is in process.

CONCERNING REVIEW, MISLEADING AND DEFORMATION

Firstly, I must express my disappointment with the review you posted, which I believe misrepresents the situation and our business practices. Throughout our 15 years of operation, we have consistently strived to maintain integrity and provide excellent customer service. Your characterization of our staff as threatening and emotionally unstable is unsubstantiated and deeply concerning.

To provide clarity, I will outline the sequence of events:

Purchase and Shipping Details:

You placed an order on June 19 as a pre-order with an expected delivery in June.
The order was shipped on June 27 with a tracking number provided.
Refund Request and Initial Contact:

On June 29, after receiving the tracking number, you contacted us to cancel the order, claiming the bikes were expected mid-June.
We explained that the shipment was en route and declined the refund based on our policy, which aligns with ACCC guidelines.
Escalation and Threats:
On July 1, you called our store demanding a refund, despite our policy and my personal absence due to a serious accident.
Despite my condition, I personally responded to your emails, offering a store credit if you paid the freight costs.

Continued Dispute and Misrepresentation:
Subsequent emails from you escalated the situation with threats of legal action and accusations of dishonesty. Especially saying I was lying about being in hospital for 12 days with serious injuries and surgery. Despite being heavily sedated due to pain whilst awaiting surgery (Tuesday 25th) I continued to respond to Mieke's demands and requests and abuse. I was discharged on 3rd July with multiple fractures in the tibia and fibula requiring constructive surgery and multiple fractures in the alternate foot. The fact I had to prove this to you is concerning especially when you continue to imply I am lying. Crazy making and gaslighting at its best.

Your refusal to accept the freight and demand for an immediate refund further complicated the resolution process.
Your countless emails and emotional outbursts proved very difficult to communicate effectively and hindered any resolution.

Further Misunderstandings and Allegations:
There were several instances where your statements did not align with factual events, such as the status of the goods and our communications with Allied.

Recent Developments and Actions:
On July 10, a new bike was dispatched to you, addressing your concerns about damaged packaging. We agreed to send a new bike immediately to rectify the wet-delivered carton by Allied. (out of our control)

We have diligently documented every stage of this process to prevent misunderstandings and ensure transparency.
In conclusion, the events of the past weeks have been unnecessarily stressful for our team. We have made every effort to accommodate your requests within the boundaries of our policies and legal obligations. However, your persistent threats and hostile communication have hindered a swift resolution.

Moving forward, we remain committed to resolving this matter amicably. We ask that all future communications be conducted in writing to ensure clarity and to prevent further misunderstandings. Our goal is to deliver the highest standard of service to all our customers.

We will await to hear from your legal representative and put forward our case.

Our apologies this has caused such distress. All our texts messages have an option to unsubscribe in which you did on Saturday. I hope our service when you made a purchase was of a high standard and your review can be changed to reflect this.

No after sales service

SCF are great at recommending and selling products, however that is where it ends. If you want any repairs or service work done to the equipment then I wish you luck.
They don't return emails, phone calls, don't show up at scheduled times and it is a nightmare to get them to come and fix equipment.

Not so much the company but who you use…

Not so much the company but who you use as a courier, I have had my Nautis Recumbent bike for almost 5 weeks, not only did it take over 2 weeks to get here it won't work. Yes you are sending me another console but again it's the long wait. This bike is a VERY EXPENSIVE coat hanger. I've not used it at all in all the time it's been here not including the wait time.

I've been talking with Stephanie and she's been great but again it's the wait time of having something that was a big spend for me and again can't use it.

Wonderful service

We bought a NordicTrack X22i treadmill from Southern Cross Fitness. The service was excellent and responsive. Sarah in particular was wonderful. Will certainly buy again from this online store!!

Steph gave great service

Steph gave great service! Offered a discount when asked, made our purchase of the x22 Nordic track simple. Followed up, confirming delivery etc.
My wife loves the unit, well built the 22” screen really makes it enjoyable. Also the 40 degree incline.

Excellent experience all round

Excellent customer service that exceeded our expectations. Expected to have treadmill delivered in the new year and had it installed in our house on Christmas Eve. Sales staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Store sales manager was very helpful. Pickup from warehouse process should be explained to clients who request to pickup.

Store sales manager was very helpful and certainly knows his business and products. He was very informative and also obliged to price match. There was no pressure to purchase, and it was an easy experience to make my final decision and order / pay via phone.
One complication was the warehouse ‘pickup’. We assumed that the warehouse would be open during business hours. Unfortunately, the warehouse is closed during any outgoing deliveries and this information wasn’t explained, hence when we turned up to the warehouse it was closed. We tried to contact the mobile number, which was impossible due to a full message bank. The store telephone was engaged ‘actually off the hook’, as the only option was to go to the store. This frustration could have been avoided if the ‘pickup’ process was explained at the time of sale when we nominated to ‘pickup’ from the warehouse.
Other than this complication, I am very satisfied with the treadmill we purchased.

Regarding the complication with your pick up unfortunately on the day your treadmill was picked up our warehouse store-man had an annual leave day taking his wife to to a follow up appointment after brain surgery. Our delivery team had been filling in this day on warehouse duties but at the time of your husband attending were out on a delivery, this is not usually the case with our store-man present between business hours Monday-Friday.

The shop phone number your husband was dialling was shown to have a one number incorrect leading to us to investigate our staffs email signature and shown to have this link with a typo, this has now been rectified and glad it was bought to our attention.

As a business we are always striving to improve our procedures and unfortunately due to a typo and our store managers mobile having a full message bank during the busy Christmas period this procedure did not run as smoothly as usual.

Thanks agin for your business and hope you enjoy your treadmill for many years to come,

The delivery is the down fall.

The delivery is the down fall. Always late by days and never call to let you know they are not coming that day. Sometimes 3 -4 days late . The ordering process was very good and the people were very helpful.
