I work as a photographer through Smiler, so I'm writing this from the inside.
If you book a shoot here, here is what you should know first: the photographer keeps 50% of what you pay, and even less if you booked Smiler through GetYourGuide or a similar platform. The person who shows up, knows the light, and edits your photos sees half. The rest funds the platform.
That matters for you, not just for us. When a photographer is paid half, the shoot stops being the thing they pour everything into. The drive is not the same as when a client books directly and the photographer is paid properly for the work.
Smiler also moved into cities where local photographers were already working, and undercut the going rate to win the bookings. The line they sell us is that they 'fill your empty calendar.' It is backwards: they took the calendar first, then handed back the leftovers.
You will probably still get nice photos, because most of us are good at what we do. But you are paying full price for a service where the person creating your memories receives half of it, and the local pros who built this market get squeezed. If that bothers you, find your photographer directly. You will likely pay the same or less, and all of it reaches the person behind the camera.

時間帯や状況によって、撮影プランを事前に連絡していただき、相談していただいた点はよかった。早朝でも撮影のために単体客が多く、人気のポイントは待ち時間も多い。プライベートゾーンで撮影でき、結果大変満足でした。

Mohammed was very professional and welcoming. We did the shoot on a very hot day and he was very tolerant and nice despite the difficulty. We had a very good experience and we highly recommend him.
