The benefits of Sleepstation
I was referred to Sleepstation by my doctor because the quality of my sleep was poor.
Sleepstation analysed my sleep problems through questionnaires and I had a team of sleep experts who messaged me with support and information. Then slowly over the 7 week course they restructured my sleep routines and gave me the tools to start to see an improvement in getting off to sleep and maintaining sleep during the night.
There are also useful resources on the site, relating to different sleep problems and recent research into sleep issues.
By week 3 I was starting to see improvements and I finished the programme this week only having the occasional broken night.
I now have the ‘tools’ to help me to continue to sleep well.
I would highly recommend this programme to people struggling with sleep problems.

Sleep station rescued me in my time of need.After ceasing of my strong medication I was left with insomnia.
I battled nightly with the anxiety & worry if not sleeping. Yes it was tough to start & within a few months my anxiety reduced & the advice tutorials etc I received helped me.
On the plus side I can refer back to my emails/videos from sleep station
Should I relapse.

Hi. I did find that Sleepstation helped me quite a bit. It’s very difficult to convey all your thoughts online as everyone is different and has different circumstances. In my case I have a lot of arthritis pain and it is this and my husband’s snoring and coughing that sometimes wakes me up in the night even though we have separate beds in the same room. My trouble is that I miss all my family members who have passed away (obviously not my sons and granddaughters) and think of them constantly when I can’t get to sleep at night, either at the beginning of the night or when I wake up in the middle of the night. I also feel very depressed when on waking early, the mornings are so dark and miserable. We will be putting the clocks back this coming weekend and this will mean even more dark nights and mornings that we are plunged into the gloom. My husband and I are both elderly so obviously feel this more than younger people who go to work and therefore get out of the house more. But I’ve given Sleepstation 5 stars due to the excellent help from the Sleepstation team. Regards Margaret.

I'm afraid this programme just didn't work for me, and I completed the 6 weeks with a worse problem than when I started. There were no "new" suggestions or techniques but perhaps/maybe if my problem had been due to anxiety it could have been more effective. I personally feel as if they didn't really listen to my explanations but instead preferred to keep suggesting techniques for relaxation. Perhaps this programme would be ok for a very basic/short term problem due to anxiety or an inability to relax, but unfortunately I felt the programme to be a little basic despite regular contact from them.

If you're neurodivergent don't bother
I repeatedly told them that I know my insomnia (that I've had my whole life) is caused by Autism + ADHD and that I have tried many different things to help it. They completely ignored what I said about being neurodivergent and then kept recommending treatments I had already told them did nothing for me.
They seem to be aware of only 3 (very common) causes of insomnia and 3 (very common) ways of treating it. If you have one of these issues, then the service will be fine for you; if you're like me, however, and don't, then you'll find them incredibly patronising and difficult to deal with. Despite sending them very detailed information about my sleep, I still felt like they weren't listening - instead, they would just make wrong assumptions.
All they do is regurgitate the same very well-known pieces of information at you and keep telling you to just stop being stressed or anxious.
I have asked to discontinue treatment as I am getting so annoyed at this service that it's stressing me out more and actually making my sleep worse.

Really breaks down and deals with all causes and types of insomnia
This is a really comprehensive and helpful course. It covers all issues which may cause insomnia and goes through logical stages of helping through your own personal situation. The support is excellent. I am in my sixth week and really making progress.

Fabulous support from the Sleepstation team. I would recommend this service to anyone who is having sleep problems. I have gone from little or no sleep every night for 5 years to now regularly having 5 plus hours.

This Really Works.
This Really Works.
I've now completed five weeks of working with sleep station, and the experience has been really good. The support is great. I found that first of all the explanation of how we sleep helped me to understand what was happening better. So that was the first step to relaxing and feeling less anxious about waking up. Then the techniques for getting back to sleep if i do wake up in the night are extremely useful, plus setting up bedtime routines etc. I am sleeping much better now, and would highly recommend Sleepstation.

Sleepstation support is fantastic.
After 6 years taking sleeping tablets and as many years putting up with insomnia I was referred to Sleepstation via my GP. After six weeks of guidance, information and support from the Sleep Coach and Team, I now don't take any sort of sleeping tablet and don't stress or get anxious when it's time to go to bed at night. You have to be committed to the programme but it is worth it as the rewards have been beneficial to my mental health and I am sleeping the best I have done in years.

Total waste of NHS funding and…
Total waste of NHS funding and resources.
The database would not allow me to log true figures as I spent more time awake than asleep.
I requested that I be allowed to send a screenshot of where the database was failing but this was ignored at first then I’m told they can’t accept a screenshot.
Sleep station is making my mental health much worse.
I have asked them to close my account and not bother me.

Complete failure - snake oil comes to mind
My participation in - nay, subjection to - this treatment brought only comprehensive failure. Nothing achieved, the original problem only got worse.
I suspect my motive to join is shared by most of the participants - I started the course because I was exhausted as a result of prolonged insomnia.
While some of the "resources" contents, advice and techniques are helpful, they are commonplace and recommended without apparent individual purpose of aim. Repetition that "all is well and getting better" is, without explanation and justification, tiresome, unconvincing and ineffective. Worse, it is patronising, reminiscent of bad marketing. Supporting this narrative are badly presented graphs that are more convincing as evidence of pseudo-scientific approach. The illusion of personalised care is quickly dispersed by a clearly algorithmic approach.
To sum up this course's SINGLE and ONLY undisguised method: restrict sleep to the point of exhaustion and, after several days, you'll sleep ONE night through. And probably forget insomnia for that night. Not to worry if, the next day, you are back to square one - or worse.

Sleepstation...an effective way to beat chronic insomnia.
Sleepstation is a superb way of overcoming chronic insomnia. It is based on CBT and is a well tested and highly respected process. It does require a significant measure of self discipline but the therapists with whom you relate regularly online are highly supportive as are the various pieces of instruction conveyed by videoclip. At times the process may seem counterintuitive but it works! ...and that is what matters.
I am very grateful both to Sleepstation and to my doctor who told me of it.

Brilliant
This has been so helpful for me. The advice is wide ranging and not everything will be appropriate for everyone but just keeping sleep diaries (these only take a minute or two) and trying to keep to certain bedtime patterns helped tremendously. The support is as much or as little as you want or need and always gently given.

Try it. This process really worked for me
This process really worked for me, and I can't thank them enough. It leads you through the process, step by step, stage by stage. With help and advise always to hand. Each week sets out a different set of targets, building on the previous week, and videos explain what the aims are and how it is intended to improve your sleep pattern. I went through a really bad spell of disjointed sleep, long hours awake,tried lots of over the counter options, nothing worked. In the end I went to my GP who suggested Sleepstation. So glad I followed up.

SLEEPSTATION REALLY HELPED ME THROUGH A BAD TIME.
They check your sleep pattern first and then give you guidance on how to improve the situation. You are supported to try a different approach to what you have been doing. Each person has a doctor, and two other support workers to give you the support you need and it is helpful that you can ask questions if you need help. They will also change something for you if it is not working. You have a review after every week. You need to work at it to change the approach you have taken in the past. It takes time and work but it is most definitely worth it in the long run. Be patient with yourself and do your best. The team are really friendly and helpful and you don't feel alone, which I found very helpful. They get 10/10 from me.
