I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the manager at the Skechers store on Shop Street, Galway. On the 23rd Oct 2025, my wife and I visited the store to purchase two pairs of Arch Fit shoes. When I asked the manager (who didn't identify herself as such at the time) about availability of size 11, she replied "no" without even a hint of apology or offer to check elsewhere in the store. When I asked if she could order the shoes in, she grudgingly checked and confirmed availability, but then demanded payment in full upfront.
When I expressed concern about what would happen if the shoes didn't fit upon arrival, her response was dismissive and unhelpful, essentially implying that I should know my own size. Her attitude and body language were unprofessional and unwelcoming. Feeling disrespected and unvalued, we decided to leave the store without making a purchase.
As we were leaving, I informed her that I would be lodging a formal complaint with Skechers management, at which point she shouted "I am the manager." I was appalled by her behavior and lack of customer service skills. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of the outcome of my inquiry.
I hope that you will take my complaint seriously and take necessary actions to address the manager's behavior. I would appreciate a response regarding the actions you will take to ensure that your customers receive better service in the future.
