Our son has been working with Sensational and specifically Lisa for a few months now to help improve his engagement with activities and concentration.

He is already showing positive signs and engaging in all activities really well.

We have been very pleased with the support our daughter has received from Lisa at Sensational Tutors. Our daughter is currently in Sixth Form and has additional learning needs, so it was very important for us to find a tutor who could understand her individual needs and adapt the teaching approach accordingly.

From the initial trial session, Lisa took the time to understand how our daughter learns best, what helps her to engage, and the pace and style of teaching that suits her. Her kind, patient and encouraging approach has made a real difference. Our daughter concentrates well during the sessions, enjoys working with Lisa and has developed a very positive relationship with her.

Lisa teaches our daughter regularly at weekends and carries out ongoing assessments to monitor her progress. We particularly appreciate the way she also provides regular updates to our daughter’s school teacher. This helps to maintain continuity between what is being taught at school and during the tutoring sessions and allows everyone involved to work towards the same goals.

We can see good progress in our daughter and are very happy with the way Lisa is supporting and developing her learning. Our current aim is for our daughter to progress towards an Entry Level qualification, and we are very keen to continue working with Lisa towards achieving this.

Overall, we have had a very positive experience and would be very happy to recommend Lisa to families looking for a kind, understanding and adaptable specialist tutor. We look forward to sharing another review when our daughter achieves the qualification she is currently working towards.

Glynda has been instrumental in building our daughter’s confidence across all of her learning. Louise from SENsational tutors has been working with our now 6year old for over a year to support her anxiety and emotional regulation after an unexpectedly wobbly transition into reception. It’s honestly the best decision we could have made. Our daughter loves her sessions and looks forward to them. It’s wonderful to see her engage with her learning, talk about her emotions and develop a very special relationship with an adult she trusts and adores. Louise is exceptionally skilled, warm, responsive and goes the extra mile in every way possible. Communication with us as parents is always available, with detailed support and thoughtful advice. We found our tutor Kelly Faber through SENsational Tutors, and she has been a game-changer for us over the past year. My daughter has ADHD and Kelly immediately knew how to put her at ease and find ways to engage her in the learning and build her confidence, as well as helping us through a tricky transition to a new school. Kelly has a real gift for connecting with the student and finding ways to teach at the right pace, challenging but never overwhelming. My daughter has felt inspired by a tutor who understands how she learns, and she genuinely looks forward to the sessions - which is miracle given how much she struggles with Maths!! Sophia has been an excellent maths tutor for my young adult son taking Functional Skills Maths level 2. He passed!
Sophia is a very personable young lady, very knowledgable and adept at reading when he was struggling without having to ask. Sophia was able to explain concepts to him in a way that he understood. She created a calm supportive environment that enabled him to build confidence as well as mathematical understanding.
My son has multiple special needs and conquering maths has been the final piece of the puzzle required for his onward educational journey.

Allison has been the most incredible tutor for our son. She began to teach him during burnout following a difficult year of school and has supported him through a year and a half outside of the school system. In that time, he has excelled in every way. Allison has designed her Maths and English classes around his interests so that he looks forward to every single session. She has managed to integrate animals, history, and dragons into almost every activity. They have done amazing things together, like baking to practice working with measurements, and crafting dragons out of clay to practice reading comprehension. Our son’s confidence and ability have grown as a direct result of Allison’s attention and kindness. She has approached him with so much compassion and become one of his most trusted adults following a time in which his trust in the world was really shaken. In addition to building a rapport with our son, Allison is also a brilliant teacher – our son has gone from not reading at all to exceeding his age group.

We are incredibly grateful for the positive impact Jane from Sensational Tutors has had on our 11 year old son over the past year. He has autism, ADHD and developmental language disorder, and has faced significant difficulties with focus, communication and engagement in learning activities. Jane's dedicated, flexible and empathetic approach has not only helped him academically, particularly with maths, but has also greatly improved his confidence and his resilience. My 12-year-old daughter has dyscalculia and has struggled significantly with maths since primary school. Over the years we have worked with several different tutors. Alexia has been exceptional and stands out by far from anyone we have worked with previously.

Her specialist knowledge and understanding of dyscalculia have made such a difference. From the beginning, Alexia really understood the needs of my daughter. She recognised the frustration, lack of confidence and behavioural challenges that can develop after years of finding maths difficult.

Alexia was excellent at engaging my daughter, who had always disliked maths and was often reluctant to participate. She was incredibly patient, encouraging and intuitive, adapting her teaching to the way my daughter learns rather than expecting her to fit a standard approach. She knew when to challenge her, when to slow down and when she simply needed reassurance and encouragement.

From start to finish the conscientious support and care that we received as a family from Miriam and Sensational tutors has been outstanding. Our Son struggles to focus on tasks and is adverse to us helping him so we needed a tutor who could engage him and make him feel safe. Miriam was those things and more! All of my children warmed to her immediately and the progress our son has made, growing in confidence as well as progressing with his reading and writing has been far beyond what I had expected. From the moment I read Rebecca's profile, I knew she would be the perfect fit for our son. Our son has autism and has been out of school since February because he was unable to cope in a mainstream environment. We knew we needed someone who was patient, calm, nurturing, and understanding, and Rebecca exceeded all of our expectations.

From their very first meeting, our son warmed to Rebecca immediately. It was clear she understood him, accepted him as he was, and instinctively knew how to approach him in a way that made him feel safe and comfortable.

We did experience a small setback during the third session, as our son finds it extremely difficult when he doesn't know the answer to something. This was in no way a reflection of Rebecca's teaching. She worked closely with us to rebuild his confidence and trust, thoughtfully adapting her sessions by focusing on his interests, reducing pressure, and very skilfully weaving learning into activities he genuinely enjoyed. Rebecca was always flexible, patient, and responsive to his needs, and before long his trust had been fully restored.

We cannot recommend Rebecca highly enough. The greatest testament to the impact she had came from our son himself, who asked if "we could raise money to have more tutors like Rebecca." That simple comment spoke volumes about how much he valued her support and how genuinely he enjoyed spending time with her. We are incredibly grateful for everything Rebecca has done for our family.

Safeena has been an amazing tutor for my daughter. She has such a calm, gentle nature, which helps Sienna feel relaxed and comfortable during every session. Emily has been a great tutor for my teenage son Finn who is EOTAS educated. She is a very knowledgeable English Language and English Literature teacher at the GCSE level. Lessons are always well organised and well-prepared. Emily always responds promptly to any correspondence and wrote a valuable report for an Annual Review when requested. Would recommend.

My daughter, now aged 19, had been out of education for 19 months before we started tuition with Sarah.
My daughter has a learning disability, severe anxiety, demand avoidance traits and other challenges.
Sarah's skill and patience in the first months to explore different approaches was astounding. Gradually trust was built and eventually we had our first breakthrough when my daughter sat up and engaged. From there we saw considerable progress – it was as if a
door had been unlocked.
Maintaining progress requires constant flexibility and adaptation. What works one day may
not be successful the next, or even within the same session. Every challenge is dealt with proactively and in a caring and holistic way which prioritises the needs of the young person allowing her to flourish.
I have my daughter back! Although we still have a long way to go, we have laughter, engagement and support to know that we will be able to meet the next challenge.

Sarah has been the most fantastic tutor for our son. She has been tutoring him for six years since he had difficulties at school following a brain tumour. His confidence was at an all time low when she first met him, but he slowly began to come out of his shell and actually enjoys some aspects of learning now. His confidence and resilience has grown and he is taking on board all of Sarah’s fantastic guidance and techniques for his up -coming GCSE’s. He always looks forward to his sessions with Sarah and when I asked him he said he would give her 101 out of 100! His Father and I would too. His transformation has been truly remarkable with her and we are very grateful.

Lisa has been a superb tutor to a year 6 autistic pupil, S, who also has hypermobility. She has always been professional and keen to get things right from the start. We met before she started working with S on our school site and she really listened to what I hoped for and the approach I wanted her to take. She took everything on board, was happy to read documentation to really understand S’s needs better and then implemented it brilliantly. We have seen a significant improvement in attendance since, and more importantly in the positivity of S to being at school.
