Working with Sean Studies in the Testing Solutions Science Bootcamp was extremely helpful! We were taught how to approach science passages and data interpretation with a regulated strategy that I have not seen in any other testing companies. I have already seen improvement in my passage reasoning abilities and cannot recommend this session enough!! I am very happy with the result!!

Working with Sean was great. In only 2 sessions I was able to increase my CARS score on the AAMC practice exams by 5 points, and in the month that we worked together I was able to raise my practice test score by 11 points! The biggest thing I gained from our time working together was how to tackle the passages and answer them correctly. Before this, I had been stuck at the same score and struggling with CARS. Sean was able to help me better understand how to understand the passages as I read them and to get through tough questions. The study plan we made during our first session was also super helpful in keeping me on track with content review and practice questions. If anyone's looking for an MCAT tutor that will really help improve your score and better understand the MCAT then I definitely recommend Sean Studies!

Being a doctor has been a dream of mine since I visited a developing country when I was a teenager. I graduated at the top of my class in high school, went to a highly selective undergraduate institution, and attended a graduate program ranked top 10 in the US. No stranger to hard work and sacrifice, I thought with enough dedication and effort the MCAT would naturally come to me. I was wrong. What should have taken a few months to a year maximum, has resulted in a multi-year journey replete with countless tears, pain, and thousands of dollars being spent. Many of the larger test prep companies put you on their schedule and if you have difficulty keeping up with the fast pace of the class (ex. pre-work, reading 3-4 dense science-heavy chapters [with "optional" 1-3 chapters] or 1-6 chapters in verbal, homework, videos, post-work, etc before your next class in 2 days), you feel isolated and question your abilities. And once you fall behind in these classes, it is extremely difficult, if not impossible to catch up. Many lecturers actually anticipate that students will fall behind and usually make an announcement in the start of class. And if you struggle with the homework set or have questions from the reading, the instructors from the course may come in an hour earlier or stay later after class but you will be with your peers who have many of their own questions. I have been told that individual tutoring is offered with these instructors (which is highly expensive, and spent in addition to the thousands you've already paid for the course). As someone who has to work hard for money and cannot ask family for substantial monetary support, the financial aspect surrounding this exam has been very challenging (notwithstanding the intellectual, emotional, and physical stamina required to take the exam itself.) Through a series of coincidences which I like to call Fate, I came across Sean Studies. At first I was quite skeptical because of everything I've been through with all these test prep companies, but over time and being in contact with a Sean Studies Advisor, I have finally found someone who ACTUALLY GETS IT. Who actually gets ME. I have received unparalleled advice during crucial decision-making moments from a successful medical school candidate. Instead of trying to make me fit into a “plan” of some One-Size-Fits-All course, I have received personalized, individual attention and a plan that is tailored to me. A plan that fits me. And all of this has been done for a fraction of a price, and with someone who wants me, personally, to succeed. I have made a friend, someone I can implicitly trust who can advise me on the MCAT, the admissions process, and provide me with not only support, but a robust strategy. After everything I have been through, I am just so grateful.

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Sean Studies is merited. You have worked hard and done everything you can on this path to medical school, so don't you owe it to yourself to ace your MCAT? Take this leap.

Just had my third session with Sean and I am so happy! Although I am still in the middle of my time with Sean, I am so impressed by how much my understanding and capability in comprehending CARS has increased. Cannot wait to continue seeing progress. Would definitely recommend Sean to anyone who needs any guidance for CARS or any other section of the MCAT!

Sean was better versed on the subject of medical school admissions than any admissions counselor I've spoken to at both my undergraduate and graduate institutions. It didn't matter if it was studying tips and tools for the MCAT itself or strategies involving all other branches of the application, Sean knew the ins and outs of the entire process to applying to medical school. I doubt you will find anyone with such in-depth and up to date knowledge on the subject. He is an extremely personable person who will tailor the tutoring/counseling around your specific situation. I highly recommend ending your search for any help right here and sticking with Sean Studies.

Seriously the BEST decision I ever made was choosing Sean as an MCAT tutor. He taught me how to approach the test with confidence and how to study effectively. I saw a 15 point increase throughout my time with him. 15/10 recommend.

I actually wrote a review a while ago when I had first started working with Sean and wanted to write an update now that I've finished! My experience with sean studies has only been positive; I would highly recommend sean studies for anybody who is wanting to retake the mcat. I really liked how structured the program was, and how different the approach was compared to how I studied the first time around. I've had friends in the past who have taken prep courses from large third party companies but more often than not, they said they didn't feel like the course offered them anything more than a feeling of accountability to study. However, with Sean studies, you not only get that accountability with weekly study sessions, but also endless resources, and great advice. It was very helpful to have somebody in your corner who has gone through the whole process. In my time with Sean studies, I had a 16 point increase from my first mcat score to my last full length practice exam in just 17 sessions. I feel like Sean really understood me and the way I learned best, and ultimately was able to customize a study plan that was most beneficial to me. Again, I am very happy to have found sean studies and would highly recommend!

Sean Studies was amazing at helping me with personal statements, especially because I didn’t know where to begin. There were 30 comments on my first draft! Which helped me narrow down my topic and theme. The comments were anywhere from “yes!! Emphasize this” to “this seems a little too sarcastic and may not go over well”. Since I’m a science major, writing isn’t my strong suit, so they also helped with how I phrased my ideas. They helped me dig deep into my experiences and my passions to find why my experiences made me want to be a physician. That was the most crucial step because it took weeks for me to finally connect it all, but once I did the words came so much easier.

I really enjoyed working with Sean. My initial MCAT score was abysmal and he helped me hone in on my weaknesses and improve by 9 points! I think the most important part of having a tutor was having somebody in your corner who has been through the process and has succeeded, so when you do poorly on a practice test he can talk some sense into you! It's so important to remain calm and focused throughout this process and Sean really helped. He also helped me with Physics which was one of my weaknesses. I was also able to improve my CARS score but if I had stuck to the routine Sean gave me it definitely would have been better (stubborn people probs). ALSO BIOBIOCHEM, Sean helped me so so much. I am someone who needs strategy and a method and Sean provided just that. Honestly just hire him I cannot emphasize enough how grateful and happy I signed up! I improved in every section. You have a friend for life, who is a great source of guidance and support. He even helped me prepare for my medical school interview. Also, this is not to say you will not be doing work, NO, Sean is just a guide and you have to work really hard to do well. But I think with the right guidance, it is so doable. Sean Studies has been extremely helpful and motivated me to study thoroughly and reach my true potential. I'll admit I was hesitant at first to sign up because people always told me that self-studying was the way to go, but after my first MCAT score, I figured it wouldn't hurt to try a tutor to help guide me. The best part about Sean Studies is that it doesn't necessarily feel like a generic "prep class" like the big companies. The tutor helped guide me through the study process so I could properly study on my own time, especially during the school year, and he walked me through all the AAMC questions I had trouble with so I could see the patters that they often employ in their questions. In addition, Sean Studies strategies for CARS were extremely helpful, as I struggled with this section before. I would definitely recommend Sean Studies to a friend.

My experience with Sean Studies has been really great since day 1. The way we arrange our study plan based on specific weaknesses and be able to tackle them it is what I like the most. After taking the MCAT 3 times, I was just about ready to give up. I had already tried Jack Westin CARS and Next Step tutoring but nothing seemed to be helping me with my score... Now that I am working with Sean Studies, my AAMC practice exam scores have increased 13 points in 5 weeks and I am not done yet. I have recommended Sean Studies to all of my friends taking the exam.
