The teachers are very well educated. They give us deep insight in the yoga history, philosophy and the practice of yoga. The accommodation is very good and the food is simple but healthy. It's an amazing place in the laps of mountains in Rishikesh.

Can't even give them a star. They don't deserve a star.Very bad experience. Their behavior is not good at all. Moreover, the goods here are very cheap. The rooms are not clean at all. Moreover, they are taking too much money

I first came to Sattva Yoga Academy in April 2013 and since then I've returned to Sattva several times a year. It is my home away from home, my sanctuary where I get to immerse myself in the profound and deeply transformative teachings and practices of Sattva Yoga. I am forever grateful to Anand Ji for the impact that he and his dharma has made on my life. And I am blessed to be apart of this ever growing, international and evolutionary community of inspired yogis. Om shanti.

I’ve been to various yoga retreats/studios in India, Thailand and Bali but nothing comes close to Sattva and the teachings there. I whole heartedly recommend this place to everyone, whether you’re a deep practitioner or a complete novice, Sattva is so much more than what most would imagine is yoga. It’s an experience that is difficult to put into words.

A friend had recommended Sattva Connect to me during lockdown, which was honestly such a help during that time. I also ended up taking the 300 YTT online, then finally made it to India for another retreat.. in person is MAGICAL and so healing. I felt extremely grateful that I got to experience the teachings in person and be surrounded by people with such beautiful energy. It felt as if everything I had unknowingly been searching for had been found, I had come home.

Sattva is located in the foothills of the Himalayas, about 30mins drive from Rishikesh itself, with a beautiful little river running beside where you can meditate or take a dip (it’s refreshingly cold!) The forest is vast and lush, you may find some cheeky monkeys jumping in the trees and many stunning birds singing throughout the day.

The teachers and staff are all incredible, I’m so grateful to them all for their time, love and wisdom. I felt completely supported, thank you.

A lot of the food that they make is also grown on their organic farm, which I will definitely make a priority to visit on my next trip.

I could go on, and on.. I highly recommend. Even if you don’t want to be a yoga teacher, the YTT’s are for anyone and everyone, to learn, connect, evolve, heal, love.

I have attended multiple trainings (including YTT) over the years at Sattva Yoga Academy and going back in 2022. Every time it is like coming home. The location is magical, the teachings are transformational, and the staff is so kind and caring and supportive. The accommodations are just right to support your stay there. Rooms have heat and a/c and are very clean. The staff is very personable and they always try to meet specific needs. Anand's teachings are meant to raise your level of consciousness, to rise above the stories in life that are holding you back from living a joyful, purposeful life. It can be uncomfortable at times to finally face your reality and move beyond it but you could not be in a more supportive place to do that kind of personal work.

I attended Sattva on three separate occasions and initially found the experience to be phenomenal.

At this time, I would not recommend Sattva

I no longer recommend Sattva Yoga due to new serious allegations that are sexual in nature and violate the code of conduct of teacher to student power dynamics . This is not a true place of yoga and is not safe for young innocent women to go to .

My life is changing and I did ot even realize it needed to. In this time of Covid I truly have expanded my heart with the completion of 300 hours training. The expereince of self re4alization, mastery of mind and energy is something wonderful, this is true yoga, the truth of self and unity with the Universe. I am privileged to have worked with My Guru Aanandji and the excellent teachers at Sattva. I have experienced qualities through mantras and meditation, expanded my energy in practice of kriya and pranayama , the Sattva integration of yoga techniques is a wild and loving experience of of my own transformation , life. i will be back in Rishikesh with a wonderful community...as soon as the paths open to travel.

Sattva Yoga Academy was a life-changing experience for me. I have experienced all kinds of abuse since childhood, emotional, physical, mental, etc. My father remarried when I was 9, that marriage gave me 2 half-siblings whom I love unconditionally till today even though I have always been made to feel like the outsider. Sattva gave me the answers that I have been searching for all my life, the synchronicities, the experiences I had were nothing short of a miracle.

According to my father, things are only expensive if you can't afford them. I was lucky to have been able to be very comfortable at Sattva throughout the entire 500hr YTT and the 138hr Bhagavad Gita course. Where I am from, you have to pay at least $3000 just for 200hr YTT. I highly recommend Master Anand Mehrotra. I have a great connection with Guruji, but, I have also had classmates who did not. Different types of teachers for different types of students.

As a grown man/woman, you can only be abused if you let it and I am so glad that part of my life is gone, realizing my true essence, there is no place for soul rotting relationships and toxic co-dependency. I love my own company and am able to have healthy friendships and family relations with no attachments and no expectations. Hari Om Tat Sat.

It is changing you fully and absolutely. You come here as one person and by the end of the training you feel like "What have I been doing all my life without this knowledge?!" Such a great shift happens in you, you feel like you were just newly born. You start perceiving this life, this universe, this reality in a completely different way. You become more open, more expansive, more heart-centered, more loving, more compassionate, more inclusive, more peaceful, more balanced in every way, more present in the moment and more surrendered at the same time. And even after completing the training you feel fully supported by amazing Sattva Yoga Community spread all over the world, that is true UNITY. I'm enormously grateful and I bow to my Guru Anandji and the whole Golden Lineage of Masters of the ancient Himalayan Yog-Vedantic tradition for this precious, priceless, timeless wisdom I received here in Sattva Yoga Academy, on the foothills of the Himalayas.

What a beautiful transformational place! Living in a valley of the Shivalik Mountains. Each morning I woke to an inspiring and rejuvenating day that was beyond my expectations. The conditions were amazing and the food is great and perfect for a teacher training. I went there to learn yoga and instead learned to embody a whole new practice and way of life that has now changed me forever. I could not of asked for more.
The teaching standards are high and the depth of knowledge is unbeatable when looking for a yoga school. The staff were ever helpful and caring to my needs during my stay.
This was an experience of a life time, I would highly recommend this place and practice to anyone.

The place ,the guru and the teachings are totally sham.Money minting moron claiming to be enlightened.

If you are looking for a 'spiritual leader' (who is not enlightened and has considerable anger issues), this is a great choice. You will be manipulated and made to believe in the illusionary bliss of the training, or you leave - Big manipulation with the students. The food is constantly repeating, overcooked with no nutrients left. Teachers were not knowledgeable and not open to sharing the knowledge, as you would expect from the teaching training you pay for.
Yes, there is a lot of philosophy (some yoga, but otherwise general philosophy) by the leader which can be transformative for people. So can be the overwhelming kundalini practices. What is missing is honesty, kindness, and truthfulness of the course.
One day of anatomy (in 200h!), one day of teaching techniques. A lot of students have been seriously sick and ill after the training, people passed out between the morning practices, and if you wanted to get up and help them, you would be stopped by the leader.
The prices at the school were ridiculous for India, basic things such as water were way too expensive and also any other extras.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of money involved, and not in the nicest way.
I have met some wonderful people there (students) and I believe this may have been a transformative experience for some, but I would seriously question the health and safety of this place, both mental and physical. I believe I am not the only one, however, I don't think a lot of people would dare to say it out loud, as you would not be considered as a part of the 'Sattva family' anymore.
I am truly happy for anyone that this experience has made a positive change in their life, but personally I am disappointed with what is considered to be one of 'the best yoga schools'.

I attended the 300hour TT in April of this year and have a hard time using words to describe the profound impact the program had on my life. I thought the program would be beneficial primarily to my own practice and self study, but I left feeling inspired to share kriyas, breathwork, meditation and more with whomever I could! The authentic teachings of Himalayan wisdom eloquently come through Anand's school, thus reaching far and wide throughout the world (a must in today's climate).
Even if you're not planning on teaching, I'd 10/10 recommend this course – the daily journeys alone will leave you transformed and realizing your highest potential!

It has only been a few months since I discovered Sattva but, in that time, I have completely changed as a person. I can feel all pain leaving my body. Triggers that I had are falling away and I feel so much happier in myself and in my life. I feel more space inside of me. My inner joy is growing and I feel so grateful for absolutely every minute of my life that has gone before.
I came here carrying a heavy load… stories, agendas, attachments, pain, ideas that kept me in a prison but here I heard that truth and then I heard it again and again and as I did I opened up more and more and understood on deeper and deeper levels and I can feel my inner bliss growing more and more and I also know how to keep moving in that direction now, how to keep growing and evolving and I am eternally grateful for absolutely everything that has gotten me here.
If you go to Sattva you will definitely not regret it. All the love 😊

My experience at Sattva has been illuminating. It is such a beautiful place, surrounded by abundant nature, the river, the pool and it has an excellent Spa offering ayurvedic as well as other different treatments. The Staff is accomodating and friendly. I stayed a Sattva a couple of times for Yoga Teacher Trainings and I cannot put into words how transformational it has been.

Wow what an amazing place. It is beautiful and the Sattva Himalayan Yoga is the best yoga program I have ever participated in. The Master teacher is Anand Mehrotra who has created a yoga teacher training that is totally integrated with the teaching brought down from the Himalayas. The facility is brand new and deluxe. The food and staff are amazing. I highly recommend this place!

First of all, the setting of the academy in Himalaya is very conducive to learning. I found myself in the silence. The teachings are truly authentic. They brought a shift in me. My family and friends say so. Founder Anand Mehrotra is very insightful. This yoga teacher training has equipped me for life. Not just to set up an independent yoga practice. I'll come again. To deepen my learning and just to soak in the sattvic vibes. And for ancient wisdom from Anand. Thank you Sattva!
