I found Nettle on a Reddit page. Someone had mentioned a medical trial for PMDD and I was desperate. I was spending half of my month, every month unable to function as a human. I play several sports that require concentration to put it mildly, and I was actually refusing to do them for half of the month because it would end in screaming, tears or suicidal thoughts. I had really got to the end of my tether! I knew the doctors were going to be less than helpful, I didn't want to go down the SSRI or contraceptive route and had already been told a firm no on any permanent surgical solutions.

Nettle has somewhat changed my life! I was sceptical at first, the reviews almost seemed too good to be true but after 3 months (the first two believing it wasn't going to work and it was all a big lie) the changes have been nothing short of a miracle. I still have the odd day where I feel down or angry/irritable, but I am able to acknowledge this and walk away from the situation and start again. I now forget that I have booked competitions and leisure activities on my 'bad' days as they don't cause an issue.

Subsequently, after the medical trial I bought myself my own device and I haven't looked back since. If anyone is looking for an alternative that doesn't include years of being passed around doctor to doctor, just do it! With a money back trial too, what is there to lose in my opinion.

This is my first month using Nettle and already this cycle my luteal phase has been completely different. My PMDD Symptoms are practically nonexistent and hopefully it will help with endo pain as well. Will update to share results. I am amazed with Nettle!

I’ve been using Nettle since it launched and it’s made such a noticeable difference in my pms and pmdd symptoms. I used to have at least 2-3 days every month where I couldn’t function, either due to complete exhaustion, fatigue and anxiety or period pain in the first day of my cycle. With Nettle my body feels much more comfortable overall. My energy levels are sustained, I’m feeling more in control emotionally (not 100%) and the cramping is so much milder that I do not feel I need to take a pain killer anymore or lay down for a nap. Using Nettle allows me to feel more normal during my period and not to miss out on life.

The Nettle from Samphire has been a great addition to my PMDD protocol, I was one of the first batches and the customer service from the founder and her team was quick and efficient. As one of the first batches I got a lemon and it was dealt with quickly. I used it for months consistently and noticed a mood improvement which is such small statement but profound when PMDD disables your normal life. supporting a women led company is always a plus

This company truly cares about women's health. Communication has been excellent from pre-purchase to support afterwards as a US customer. I've been using Nettle for 5 months now. Usually I have a sharp transition from ovulation to luteal phase with a drop in mood and onset of physical symptoms with almost 2 weeks of challenging days. While I haven't noticed a dramatic difference, I feel like I now have one to two days back per month and a smoother transition, which is actually a big deal. More importantly, just having another tool in my toolbelt and knowing research is being done on PMS and PMDD feels so good. I almost cried the first time I needed support on a rough day and found a category of luteal phase meditation on the Samphire app. I felt so SEEN.

A few things I wish I knew- as a US customer I needed an adapter for Nettle (but I purchased before the US version as available so that might be why). There is a subscription for the app, and you will need to get refills for sponges every 3 months or so but they are free or affordable if you go through them more quickly. Pro tip- run a session after you've washed your hair, it's much easier to get a strong connection!

I have been using Nettle for 4-6 months and I feel very happy with it. I don’t know yet if it’s helping my mood, reactivity, lability, etc., yet! I know that I don’t mind the relaxing and mindful time I get 5 times a month after I shower. I have enjoyed and learned a lot from Emilé’s talks on pms and pmdd. First of all, there is an incredible team behind Nettle — genuinely caring, responsive, and always willing to help. Every question I had was answered with clarity, understanding, and kindness, and the support works at an almost unbelievable speed.

I have been using Nettle for about a year now, and I can truly say it has helped me — a lot — to live a much better quality of life. I have suffered from very painful periods my entire life, and about seven years ago severe PMS symptoms were added to that — intense irritability, emotional overwhelm, and yes, an unstoppable craving for chocolate. I understood that it was PMS, but I had absolutely no tools to work with my emotions.

On top of that, during PMS I was often unable to work for around 7–10 days each month. Then my period itself would last about 5 days, and suddenly I realized that in a 27-day cycle I only had about one “normal” week. This had a huge impact on both my work and overall quality of life.

When I discovered Emilie and learned that she was creating something new, I was one of the very first people to try Nettle. Since then, my PMS has improved dramatically. I no longer feel uncontrollably angry or emotionally overwhelmed, and most importantly — I am functional, productive, and have energy. I still take pain medication because the pain is not completely gone, but now it is manageable and the medication works within 15–20 minutes. Before, it often didn’t work at all, leaving me in pain with no options left.

I did experience some challenges with the device itself — it sometimes charged very slowly and occasionally wouldn’t charge at all. Eventually, one day it stopped charging completely and appeared to malfunction. However, the support team reacted immediately and wonderfully, and a replacement Nettle is already on its way to me. This level of care and responsibility only strengthens my trust in the brand.

nettle has been such a great addition to my PMDD treatment, truly not much actually works and especially not without side effects. my nettle (while absolutely not 100% effective), takes the edge off to a more manageable level and is really easy to keep up with as part of my routine. also reduces my cramps a bit which I honestly wasn’t expecting at all! i love that this is a women’s team too, our health is so under-researched, and everyone from samphire has been incredibly responsive when I’ve needed it. looking forward to seeing how this continues to develop!

Fantastic customer service, first of all. I had some questions and immediately got answers from Em. It helped so much as I was overwhelmed at first and was scared to do something wrong, but she went through it all with me and I felt so much more confident using it. I have only recently started using the Nettle regularly (after setting up notifications in the app so it reminds me when I need to use it), so I can’t say just yet how much it’s improving my symptoms of PMDD moods and Endometriosis pain, but after being offered the only treatment option of chemically induced menopause by nhs, and declining that, I’m just so happy to have this device as alternative treatment for these very overlooked and underesearched conditions. I’m very hopeful it will help because there are so many positive reviews and Em is very knowledgeable on these conditions. The device is comfortable and easy to use. Once you’ve used it a few times it becomes second nature to go through the steps. It tingles and itches a bit at first but that only lasts a minute for me and then it’s unnoticeable! I can’t wait to see how this device helps me.

Nettle is a game changer.
I've had it for a year now and it has helped massively with my PMDD. I find it extremely helpful around 10-7 days before my cycle when I feel the most erratic. The feeling when your mind is racing is tuned down almost instantly after using it and I can think in single sentences again.
It helps with endo in reducing the amount of painkillers I take, but I am not really very consistent with it due to my lifestyle/job. I could probably get better results being more consistent.

Using Nettle has been a life saver. I use it on days that my symptoms flare, which for me can also be around ovulation. I can feel relief midway through a session sometimes. It has eased cramps and pain, and mostly been incredible for my mood. It has taken the edge off when I’m really spiraling and has brought me back into a regulated state from a very depressed and overwrought place. I have had less suicidal ideation since using it, and when I did feel it, the Nettle device helped bring my thinking back down into a safe place. I’m very thankful and grateful that it exists.

If you are on the fence (like I was because I was a bit worried about messing with my brain) I would highly recommend trying it because it has improved my life and given me a tool. Before I felt alone in dealing with PMDD, even when consulting professionals. I tried therapy, diet changes, birth control, SSRIs, and supplements. Nettle has done more for me than any of the other interventions I’ve tried and in a faster period of time.

Also Samphire seems like a wonderful company. Their customer service is stellar and responsive. They really care about women’s health and want to improve lives. The app is lovely and I now use that to track everything and am getting better data about my cycle and trends.

I use Nettle since January and after a few problems I found my rhythm of using and it helps a lot with my symptoms. I also have adhd and I‘m autistic and I have the feeling, that nettle makes me calmer. The best thing of nettle are the people behind it. The Team is so fantastic and passionate.

Nettle has been such a welcome addition to my PMDD treatment. I love that this has been designed and made by women, for people who are often forgotten by our patriarchal medical systems. Firstly, the team go above and beyond – the care and support is next level, it’s personalised, it’s prompt and I trust the team want the best for me. I do multiple things to manage my PMDD, so it’s hard to pin down the effect of individual treatments, however I can say this has definitely helped raise the floor and level out the extreme drops. Sometimes when I’m having good month and use Nettle anyway, I feel more energised and alert. It’s also a good comfort-blanket to know I have something science-backed and non-invasive whenever I need it. I love that the app gets updated from us, the community. I’ve had a couple of suggestions implemented and that feels wonderful to be part of! No big-pharma or tech-bros over here. Love your work team ❤️

My experience wasn't smooth from the beginning. I wasn't able to connect Nettle with my personal smartphone. It only worked with other smartphone. And the app itself acts very strange, one time all texts and images/videos are visible, other time no images/videos visible and even text on buttons are not fully visible, it is happening when trying to run session with instruction step by step. Also resently Nettle starts not turning on even it was charged over the night. And I was needed to recharge it again. And next day it is happening again I need to recharge to be able start a session.
I still have hope that it will help me. It is only two cycles of period past, so I can't say if it is really helping. Maybe the mood is better. But still no affection to pain strenght.

I suffer from PMDD and Nettle has been a lifesaver for me! For 2 weeks of every month I used to suffer from extreme anxiety and depression that was debilitating. Since using Nettle my symptoms are so much more manageable. It’s really helped me when I felt I was running out of options. Since joining Samphire and getting the Nettle headband, my life has changed so much. I suffer with PMDD and my periods can vary however since using Nettle, I have seen a significant decrease in physical and mental symptoms and it’s not half as bad as what it’ll my symptoms could be. Nettle has completely transformed my life. My PMDD symptoms are significantly reduced and whilst not completely gone, what felt like drowning in a storm now feels like navigating it in a pretty sturdy ship.

I feel like I have more control over my symptoms, I’m able to do more of the things that I do outside of luteal phase, and I have more mental clarity. Instead of my cycle feeling like two opposite ends of the spectrum, it now feels more balanced and less like I have to spend the first week of my cycle recovering from luteal the week before.
