Scam.
Clearly ordered a hard back book from them as a gift. Didnt arrive.
Contacted them and they said it’s an e book. But what I ordered was a hardback.
Scammers.
Avoid.

I purchased a Hardcopy book (specifically chose Hardcopy from dropdown box) but received a digital copy. Money was taken, but no communication about incorrect product sent. I received a generic email about no refunds. It was a gift for my daughter so digital is useless to me. A total scam and a waste of my hard earned money. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Scammed in the same way as others, ordered a physical book and got a non-functioning link to a digital download, when queried they stated that they don't have a physical copy despite the fact that are still advertising it for sale in such a format. Fair play to my credit card company they refunded me within seven days after I referred them to here!

If I could give them zero stars I would. I so wish I'd have checked them out before ordering. Like everyone else ordered hardback, didn't receive it, contacted them and they said they only do ebooks and they won't even send me the link for that. I contacted credit card company and they processed a refund. AVOID THIS COMPANY!

After many emails and threats to take further, I got a full refund…!!

I would put no stars if I could.
Ordered a ‘book’ , then read that Salbooks is a scam and just sends ebooks. I contacted them via email immediately and asked for a refund. I also contacted the card company I used to pay. They couldn’t do anything unless the supplier cancelled the order but did say to contact them once it had gone through.
Long story short, Salbooks said refunds weren’t possible. I said I would contact trading standards as nowhere in their site said they were not physical books. Even in the order it says ‘hardback’.
I then looked up their returns policy where it clearly states if an ebook has not been received yet or downloaded , it can be cancelled and refunded. Yet another email to them where I pointed this out and said I had not yet received the book.
They have now replied saying the refund will be within 4-7 days.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU ARE HAPPY WITH AN eBOOK!!!

Like everybody else on here, ordered hardcover book, got ebook, then they refused to refund me. Total SCAM. Im now investigating chargeback on my debit card to see if i can get card co to refund purchase price. Not a lot of money, but on principle.

Wish I had seen reviews beforehand. I've received a download instead of paperback as ordered. Have tried to reply but even my computer is denying access back so I can't get the download or respond for refund. Authors need to be notified of this scam.

Avoid this site - it is a scam. They will switch your physical book order to a digital download and then refuse to refund you.

Also, this is set up to look like a UK company (the actual company name is Saloin Limited) but it's actually run by a Polish guy and the charges originate out of Poland.

IF you have already made the same mistake as me, reach out to you bank / credit card company and file a refund request based on deceptive sales practices and failure to receive what you ordered (i.e. the physical book).

I wish I had checked here first. Currently disputing with them about my purchase. Same story; I know I ordered a hardback copy. They are adamant it was an ebook. I never even received a download link.

Terrible, they have books on amazing offers but like the old saying you get what you pay for. I chose a hardback and straight away after the purchase it appeared as a Digital Download, emails from customer services got me know where. I wish I had seen the previous 26 reviews before wasting the money.

BEWARE- I ordered a paperback and received a digital copy
There was a drop down box on the webpage to select either Paperback or Digital copy. I selected the paperback but received a digital book link. I emailed them, only to receive a response saying I must be confused and no paperback or refund could be given.

So I told them there are two options and threatened to go to the trading standards and eventually received a refund. - BEWARE

This company is a scam. So cross I didn’t see the others posts. I also ordered a paperback and was sent an ebook. Company currently refusing to reimburse me. Don’t order from them

Misleading Sales Practice and Terrible Customer Service

I ordered a hard copy book from Sol Books. The website provided a hard copy option, yet after placing my order I was sent a digital eBook instead.

When I contacted customer services, I was informed that they do not actually have hard copies available and that I had purchased a digital product. This makes absolutely no sense when a hard copy option is presented during the ordering process.

I explained the situation politely and reasonably and simply asked for help in resolving what is, in my opinion, a misleading purchasing experience. Rather than acknowledging the issue or offering any goodwill, they repeatedly denied any responsibility and refused to help.

As a customer, I feel completely misled. If a company does not have hard copies available, they should not present customers with options that suggest otherwise. The lack of accountability and unwillingness to address a genuine complaint has been extremely disappointing.

I would strongly advise anyone considering purchasing from this company to proceed with caution and to scrutinise every detail before ordering. Based on my experience, I would not use Sol Books again and cannot recommend them.

This company scams purchasers. I ordered a hard copy book. Instead they sent me a dodgy looking ebook. I sent them a screenshot of the hardcopy book offer I had added to my cart but they ignored this. From reviewing the other experiences on Trustpilot it seems this is a tactic this company regularly deploys to scam purchasers. I have had to arrange for my credit card to be cancelled as I fear what a company which behaves this way will do with my information so the whole experience has been a complete nightmare. Trading Standards should be investigating this company.

Appalling. Ordered hardcover book & received an ebook. Sent a screenshot of the Web page (reoeatedly!) showing the book clearly displayed as a hardcover, sent many emails & rang them requesting refund & asking finally to make an official complaint, I also asked to speak to an agent & provided my tel no. However I only got repeated AI auto emails telling me to download my ebook & have yet to see a human name attached to any of their comms. Ringing is a waste of time as it just has an auto message saying they don't handle enquiries by phone, despite their website telling you to ring them! Never had such a blatant scam experience like this - I can call it that having now read the other reviews here - if only I'd read them first!

Like everyone here I wished I'd checked Trust Pilot first. Complete scam - beware. I also ordered a paperback book, exactly the same as others said - selected hardcover on dropdown, made payment, received a digital copy. Emailed to advise of mistake, they replied to confirm I had ordered an ebook. I went back to them with screenshots to show that this is not what the website said. No response.

Wow wish I saw these comments before I spent my money with them, would've saved me so much time and money. Exactly like in the comments, I purchased a HARDCOVER book to find out that they sent me digital copy, which I did not want as book wasn't for me. Tried to contact them, but they are ignoring my emails. Please learn from our mistakes and do not use them.
