What a great experience… nothing was too much trouble for Kyle who we spoke to in customer services . He was very friendly and managed to sort out everything we needed . Such a refreshing change to deal with someone so professional.

I gave my maturity instructions and I have been messaging the bank for several days now but there is apparently no way I can access funds from my 'instant access' account now my savings have matured. Things go wrong but staff attitude when they do is a measure of the business. My experience has been very poor.

I have used the Saffron Building Society for a number of years. I have always found their savings products competitive and their website easy to operate. I was very pleased to leaen The Saffron offer a loyalty bond, for customers who have stuck with them. Its very refreshing as many financial institutions offer their best rates to new customers only and not their long standing ones.

I had reason to call today, and was dealt with by Kyle who I must say was friendly and helpful. I am sure I will be dealing with the Saffron Building Society for many years to come. Keep up the great work.

Saffron BS apologised for incorrectly failing to report interest to HMRC on a couple of savers. They investigated, identified, and gave me a written response that included all the necessary information. They did so pretty quick too, which is pretty important given deadline for self-assessment is 31.01.26! Taking ownership is to their credit. I can't give 5 stars ... it was a Saffron error after all; but very happy to award 4 and keep using this mutual, with increased confidence that problems are effectively sorted out in the future. Thank you, Leah, Ass. Cluster Man., for the 'sincere apology' ... it was appreciated.

A very friendly meeting with Michael, he explained every thing clearly and in terms that we could understand. Overall a good experience.

Lewis little spent time with me without any pressure for a certain account. He understood my illness and was veryt considerate towards it

We are a small club and opened a Community Saver Account with Saffron. When we needed to change signatories it was all done and dusted the same day. It was really easy to speak to a human, and all very pleasant and efficient. Thank you Sarah for your help. How refreshing to deal with a financial institution that is actually interested in talking to, and sorting customer problems quickly and easily.

lewis made us very welcome , listen to what we needed and with his help found the products we wanted, we will continue use the sevices of this branch and excellent staff

Possibly the most amateurish organisation I've had the misfortune to deal with. My late brother had money invested with them and their customer service has been appalling e.g asking me to go into a branch when they were aware I lived 250 miles away, asking me to send documents without providing an address, asking me to complete a form that needed me to know the balance but refusing to let me know the balance without completion of the form! The sum invested was relatively low but, unlike other building societies I dealt with, they refused to release the funds without probate. Their rigid processes are not at all customer friendly.

28/01/26: Probate was just one of the issues and you said you wouldn't be reviewing your other processes. As I promised, a complaint has now been lodged with the Ombudsman.

I have no branches close to me and when the online banking said go to branch or call customer services I was filled with dread from other banks I have dealt with. Alasdair was friendly efficient, professional and incredibly patient and understanding. It was getting close to them closing and I didn’t feel at all rushed. I battled to get my account online for ages but he made it all so easy and even waited on the phone until I was up and running. If all their agents are as good then I can’t recommend Saffon enough!

Emily was very informative and friendly. She went through the various options clearly and we were very comfortable with the conversation and impressed with her knowledge of the products.

Had a grey haired surfer problem with the app. Sent a message. Staff member Alasdair came back pronto with the solution. All resolved quickly.

I spoke to Kim in retentions. I asked her a range of questions and concerns. She was absolutely amazing, brilliant knowledge, advice help and support. Provided amazing customer service and was extremely patient helpful and supportive. Would highly recommend.

Recently I had the pleasure of speaking to Kyle. A very amiable and helpful gentleman at Saffron Building Society.

I gave him my requirements to do with my savings account, and he quickly saw to my request. He was polite, efficient and professional. As are all staff at the Bishops Stortford branch.

What a joy to find humans that care. being "mature" ( or old in old speak) banks can be intimidating & unhelpful whereas the Saffron were understanding and friendly and made opening an account es easy as they are allowed to legally ! They pay a good rate of interest and cant be faulted. Russell Smith was amazing helping me open my business account and now Iwill open a private one as well. BTW - IF you know any charities they do an amazingly great account for charity to make a good interest on their savings !
