RWE Wind Farm at Goldicaly Caithness.
RWE are building a wind turbine farm at Goldiclay just outside Wick in Caithness. The blades come into Wick Harbour and are then moved by road to a holding area and later from the holding area to the windfarm. Moving the blades causes chaos on the roads as there is only one single carriageway road and each movement takes about 1 hour. In this part of the world there are few secondary roads you can take to avoid the disruption. So keeping the public informed of movements - and I accept they are necessary - means people can plan their lives - shopping, doctors appointments and so on - to avoid travelling at these times. RWE give some information about up coming movements on their website. There is a live tracker. But the live tracker is NOT updated. Today (25 May) there were 2 movements. The live tracker shows the movement on 22 May! It is a small thing to them but can cause massive disruption to local people. For example I had to get to the nursing home my partner is in for a doctors appointment. No information. RWE - either stop pretending you care or get your systems set up to provide timely information.
