Had a video made from a photo of myself and my late husband, and frankly the result looked ridiculous. However for such a small amount of money I just wrote it off to experience. However, a week later I received an email from a very annoying chat bot called Mary, telling me I had agreed to a subscription costing £31 a month and that they had already taken payment!
I don't remember seeing anything indicating that I had signed up to a subscription service, and based on the result from my photo I would never had agreed.
Downright refused a refund, will definitely not be recommending this sham company to anyone.

Stay away from this company. This company uses deceptive business practices to charge for subscriptions not authorized. We authorized a $1.00 to see if the product was something we wanted. We selected no to a subscription. We received an immediate confirmation that our subscription was canceled. But they charged us 19.99 for a subscription. They were not helpful when contacted.
Revision - after I posted my review they did reach out to me and refunded the charge.

Horrible. I, like many others was taken in by the so-called trial of having one picture revived for a dollar. I was completely surprised to see my credit card charged a few days later for $39.99! I have asked for a refund and if they do not respond to me within a few days I will dispute the charge with my credit card company. This is an awful way to prey on people's memories of a loved one who has been lost! I usually pride myself on not being taken in by scams but this agreement to a subscription for nearly $40 a month was not made clear at all! Stay away from this company at all costs!
UPDATE: After my complaints, the company sent me an email explaining how the "terms of service" must have been checkmarked in order to check out with the $1 fee. The problem is that it is very small and IMO, not transparent at all. Most people assume the TOS is for legal things and they just check it and don't think twice. It should definitely be made more clear. I do appreciate them refunding the subscription cost and I have cancelled my acct.

Everything said about this company in Reddit reviews is true. And the picture I sent with 2 adults and a baby came back with entirely different looking people. AI Mary, is the “person” returning your messages.

Same as all the others on here I think paid £1 for 1 pick what was completely altered but ok and now just had £30 took out of my account hope they can sort this have contacted them but no answer as yet.need a refund and a subscription cancelled.

I did the $1 photo. It was ok. When I was informed it would cost 39.99 per month after this, I went to my profile and canceled my subscription. Then, I notice $39.99 taken out of my bank account. I am filing a dispute from my bank after I contacted the company on several occasions. I kept getting replies from a bot. It said I hadn't canceled my subscription and they would cancel any further deductions. I could use the site until the end of this month. I already canceled it!! Don't trust them!! It's a scam!!

This is a complete con , you pay 1 dollar thinking you are buying the pic you want , and then find a few days later you are charged 39 dollars. I have emailed you and would like my money refunded, thank you Kim

Scammed! and they are refusing to give me my money back. I was charged nearly $60 AU for a subscription that I did not sign up for. What I thought was a one off payment for 1 photo turned out to be a scam to take more money out of my account.

Update: after sending 3 emails i received a refund. The revive memories subscription might be good for those that can afford it, I just hope they make it more transparent for future customers.

After reading the reviews (after completing my purchase) I realised this is a subscription service - this was not made clear during the purchase at anytime, I thought I was paying $1 for a photo to be edited.
Please be careful when purchasing.

Be very careful of this company they ask for an initial small amount then try a couple of weeks later for £32.99 its a scam

A con job, paid US$1 for a trial, a few days later US$39.90 taken from my card without warning and was told I now had a recurring annual subscription. I complained to "Mary" and was told I'd get a refund, never happened, now when I look for the email offering this I find it has been recalled and replaced by an edited version blaming me for their theft, sneaky and underhanded. Avoid this company, they are scammers
EDIT - They replied to this with a "talk to us" message, I contacted them through that and was completely ignored, I guess they just wanted to look good.
I escalated my complaint through Paypal and after much hassle did receive a refund so that's good, but doesn't change my opinion of these people or their methods. Don't go near them.

A bad set up , great trial price of US$1 to find out what you're getting, but subscrition is buried in the terms & conditions for you to be billed $39.99 5 days later ...I was absolutely seething over this... HOWEVER, I emailed customer service who promptly refunded my PayPal account so they ARE trying to put things right ...

I paid $1 on 15 April for what I believed was a one-off photo revision service from Revive Memories. The edited photo was initially returned with part of the image cut off, although this was corrected quickly after I raised the issue.

On 17 May, I was unexpectedly charged $39.90 for a subscription I was unaware I had signed up for. On the same day the payment was taken, I received an email stating that my 7-day trial had ended and thanking me for subscribing. Unfortunately, by that point the money had already been taken. It would have been far fairer and more transparent to send a reminder email before charging customers.

I raised a dispute through PayPal, but it was resolved in favour of Revive Memories. I have also contacted Revive Memories directly and am currently awaiting a response. If the matter is not resolved satisfactorily, I will be contacting my bank.

After this happened, I noticed several other reviews describing similar experiences. It is disappointing that Revive Memories appear to be aware of these ongoing complaints yet have not made the subscription terms clearer for new customers.

I would strongly advise anyone considering this service to carefully check the payment terms and confirm whether you are agreeing to a recurring subscription before making payment.

Since posting this review I have received an email from Revive Memories advising me a full refund is being processed . However my original review remains the same about being aware of the subscription charges!

Was offered a $1 upload to revive a photo which was received and was of ok quality. However a week later was charged USD $39.90 stating my trial had ended. This was never identified in the initial offering. Nor was any email received following the initial purchase stating I was now part of a subscription service.
Based on the numerous reviews I have now read, this is simply a lure to automatically opt you in to monthly payments when they weren’t requested in the first place. I have emailed their help but am yet to receive any acknowledgement.
Beware of this poor practice

Revive Memories did an amazing job of converting an old photo of my first wife (deceased) and myself when we were dating into this beautiful video that I will cherish forever. It has bought back so many beatiful memories for myself and our 2 children who were both very young when she passed. Thank you ❤️ Revive Memories.

This was totally unexpected as I have not signed up to any monthly plan.
Have emailed company to request refund and cancellation.

they are scammers, they will trick you into entering a subscription which you would not have done and then bill you..they sent me a phony image of my purchase with them, except i took a screen shot at the time of purchase which clearly shows them adding information.Absolutely disgusted by them...will be going to my bank to get reversed

I can't afford that! I didn't realise it was a trial period, it didn't even look like my mum either. I would like a refund please.

It made me cry. My mom has been gone now for 8 years. To see that picture move was incredible. You need to try it. I will make more videos.
