Based on my experience, AVOID REO CAR SALES
Based on my experience, I would avoid REO Car Sales.
I purchased a vehicle from REO Car Sales which developed a serious fault after just 8 weeks. The repair was accepted under warranty and the car was returned to them. I was told the vehicle had been repaired, but I never received it back.
While the vehicle was in their possession, I was informed that it had been stolen and was later found burnt out.
Throughout the following year I experienced extremely poor aftercare and communication. There were many occasions when my calls went unanswered, yet if I rang from a different number, the phone would often be answered. This made an already stressful situation even more frustrating.
I tried to resolve the matter directly but was unable to do so. I therefore issued court proceedings and the court entered judgment in my favour. Despite the judgment, payment was not made voluntarily, and I had to instruct High Court Enforcement Officers to recover the money owed.
During the enforcement process, it was suggested that I had owned the vehicle for nine months and had booked it into an independent garage myself. I dispute those statements and have retained the emails relating to the timeline of events.
This dispute lasted around a year and caused a great deal of unnecessary stress. I can only comment on my own experience, but based on everything that happened, I would not buy another vehicle from REO Car Sales.
March 31st 2026 was the date I received my money from the high enforcement bailiffs and it was finally over after a year battle.

I took out upgraded warranty
I took out upgraded warranty. No documentation was provided. I’ve asked for this on several occasions and have not received these nor any evidence of activation to date.
Purchased a Jaguar XF from REO Car Sales which has unfortunately suffered catastrophic engine failure less than one year after purchase.
An independent diagnostic inspection confirmed severe internal engine damage requiring engine replacement/rebuild.
The most disappointing aspect has been the aftersales experience and handling of the warranty position.
Despite repeated requests, I was never provided with the warranty documentation or policy terms relating to the upgraded warranty supplied with the vehicle. I was later informed that the warranty provider was no longer trading.
To be fair, staff remained polite in correspondence and did suggest an alternative lower-cost repair option, which is the reason for the second star.
However, overall this has been a very stressful and disappointing experience, and I would strongly advise future buyers to ensure they receive and independently verify all warranty documentation at the point of sale.

Terrible Experience – Had to Go to Court and Use Bailiffs to Get Our Money Back
We purchased a car from REO Car Sales in December 2024, and this has been the worst buying experience we have ever had.
When we collected the car, the engine management light was already on. REO booked an appointment for it to be checked, but the light went off before the appointment, so we didn’t take the car in. Despite this, the engine failed completely within just three weeks.
REO agreed to repair the car and did source a replacement engine and arrange someone to fit it. However, the process dragged on for months and the repair didn’t work. We never got the car back, and eventually REO stopped communicating with us entirely.
Throughout all of this, they were rude, unhelpful, and extremely difficult to deal with. Every attempt to resolve the issue reasonably was met with excuses, hostility, or simply no response at all.
With no progress, we sought legal advice confirming our right to reject the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. When REO still wouldn’t refund us, we issued a Small Claims Court claim — which we won.
Even after the court judgment, REO still didn’t pay. Instead, they offered a payment plan to repay money they were already legally required to return — which we declined. We proceeded with enforcement.
Bailiffs were instructed and visited REO, and only after that visit did, we finally get our money back.
Our advice to anyone considering this seller: Skip the stress and go straight to court.
Trying to resolve anything directly with REO was a complete waste of time. Legal action and enforcement were the only things that worked.
This review reflects our genuine experience, supported by legal advice, court proceedings, and enforcement by bailiffs.
Ah where to begin
Ah where to begin. I have avoided posting such a public review for as long as I can. Bought a lovely car the car I wanted nearly 8 weeks ago. The battery had to be replaced within 6 days. Fair enough was done with 24 hours. Fast forward a few weeks so just after 6 weeks my gear box went, car was collected from my home eventually the day after the issue was reported. 9 days later my car is still not repaired nor do I know the location of it as the 2 garages I was told the car was at have both refused to do the job based on where the car came from, so im Currently without a car with no time frame as to when it would be back so I’m currently seeking legal advice as to what to happen next as nobody is keeping me informed. If I had asked about and not based my decision to purchase a car from Reo on recent reviews and instead of what I have been told by locals and local garages I would have gone elsewhere. I won’t name names of individuals I have dealt with as that would be unfair as they are just following orders most likely so if you can avoid this place at all cost as once the transaction is complete it’s all lies and being fobbed off.
I had bought a stolen vehicle
So much went on between me & this company (Gareth) that it’s taken me nearly a year to leave this review due to stress.
My purchase was a Ford Ranger for £15k (I paid by bank transfer) the vehicle came with 3 months free warranty. Receipts from work done, MOT etc. 2 keys.
I received a V5 from the DVLA shortly after with my details on it.
Just after a week I took the vehicle to my local Ford to get private plates put on. Ford said there was a discrepancy with the mileage & I should take the vehicle back. I drove to RCS & asked for my money back & was told ‘ that’s no reason for return, maybe Ford got it wrong’.
I called the warranty company during this time who said there was no warranty on that vehicle with RCS (RCS said I called the wrong company) I have evidence of the company they told me I had it with. RCS never gave me any evidence of warranty even after I had asked them to supply it.
A few days later I was pulled over by the police, lights flashing etc, saying it was on cloned plates (still on original plates from RCS) vehicle got towed away. Turned out none of the paperwork was legit. Garage stamps from company’s that don’t exist, spare key was blank & filled down.
When I called RCS to tell them what happened they said they had to get a refund from the car auctions first as that was where they bought it from?!
I got in touch with Trading Standards who tried for months to help me get my money back (Action Fraud didn’t want to know & I never heard from the Police again) I also chased the Car auctions company myself.
I called RCS every day for months & they always had an excuse. Even while I was on holiday.
1. The boss isn’t in/busy
2. We’ve spent all our quota on buying cars this week (that’s the best one)
3. Someone will call you back
4. We will pay it by ‘this date’
They then gave me a part refund just to keep me quiet I think & said we’ll pay the rest later.
I finally gave RCS a deadline of a week as I got so fed up in the end & said I’d go to the small claims court. The day after I had sent the form to Gareth (the boss of RCS) he called me for the first time! & had the nerve to have a go at me as he said he’d pay it.
In the end it wasn’t the fact that the vehicle was stolen, it was the appalling after service. He paid me the full amount a couple of hours later. I went for a beer.
It took a lot to write this. I should have done more checks, but I bought it from a garage, that’s the best place to buy a car so you get some sort of comeback & not form marketplace or something.

I was estimated a value of £4k for a part exchange on my vehicle - was told twice by a member of staff £4k for the part exchange - did all the finance on the new vehicle - been waiting patiently for the new vehicle then to be told they would only take £3k for the part exchange - leaving me a waist of time doing a part exchange along with going through a finance company - avoid at all costs has they don't stick to their agreement for part exchanges - plus borrowing money from my bank to do the deal getting charged on interest rates - i will not let this settle and will definitely not recommend reo car sales to anyone who is looking for a vehicle.
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs! Terrible after sales service after our brakes seized on the motor way. They didn’t want to know us and refused to cooperate at all.

Will not return nor recommend due to poor customer service when fault arises in vehicle.
Range of vehicles - reasonable (it has expanded significantly since my purchase in feb 25.
Ease of purchase - reasonable, the chosen vehicle was ready to collect in a couple of days (can only review in regards for cash purchase, unable to comment on finance process)
After sales - abysmal
Issues can arise with any type of purchase however the way this has been handled has been extremely poor and very time consuming.
Purchased a car in February 25, had an issue in March. Made contact on the same day the vehicle had an issue and was told to go through warranty, this was fine. However following assessment from an independent garage it was advised to be returned to Reo as it was an issue unlikely to be covered by warranty for payment however covered under consumer rights to be repaired / refunded. Car was with them for a few weeks, unfortunately updates were chased by me rather than provided and weren't available until the vehicle was ready for collection . The car was returned but repairs made weren't relevant to the issue it had been taken in for; however I was told it wasn't the suspected issue and that it was fully repaired and driveable.
The vehicle was driven a couple of days later for the 1st time and the issue was evident to remain and not be fixed.
A refund was requested under consumer rights act, I was told for a week it has to be processed by Gareth (owner) but he wasn't in during calls or In when attended the dealership; I had an email response at the end of the week stating the vehicle needed to be returned to them to be assessed and repaired before a refund would be considered (2nd attempt) ; the vehicle was returned on the same day this was received, a 2nd attempt for repair however is not required under the consumer rights act however I wished to make progress and have the issue rectified.
During the 2nd repair stage again updates were followed up by myself for a month without one to be given, 3 members of staff were in charge of the issue during this time. A refund was again requested. This was finally agreed in the end of may after attending the office to speak with the owner. It was agreed in writing the refund would be paid by the following week (June)as funds weren't available during my time at the office .
Payment was not made despite a written agreement and call to follow up, instead I was told funds weren't available again and I had to await Gareth's return to discuss further.
This has now been resolved through the bank and seeking advice with CAB.
During the time in which it had been agreed to refund the money and the resolution through other means they made 0 attempt to contact to resolve the issue.
Wished I read reviews first
Dunno how these cow boys are stilk open & trading. Bad review after bad review I wish I read them first before letting them run credit check on me and saying to me different payments to make the car look cheaper then it was. Brendon tried to pull the wool over my eyes. I asked lots of questions on the finanxe & he didn’t have a clue and had too keep checking with an old guy in corner who also didn’t have any idea. Maybe they was both on work experience or something I dunno but their definitely not car sales guys!!!!
Intimidation tactics?
I don't even no where to start with this one. This "garage" have been a headache for me and my family for the last 8 months.
When looking for a car and dealing with Gareth he was amazing, he would reply almost instantly, answered any questions that my daughter and myself had. We thought we had stumbled on a company that cares.
Weeks later major issues develop with her car. I get that some times things can go wrong with a car as thousands of moving parts. But the stuff that cropped up were MOT failures and complete lack of competency or care. Brake pads down to the metal, sub frame severely corroded, one tyre was almost showing the wire. When she phoned she was pretty much made out to be a lier and that she had caused the issues so there's nothing they can do.
Being a young girl she just took their word for it and out of worry, didn't tell me or her father and she paid £700 out of her own money to get the car actually road legal. So I approached the garage and told them I would take it further. But even with me, they had a didn't care attitude. So I spent weeks looking into their practices. Multiple failed and closed dealerships while owing out tens of thousands to customers in their Blackwood branch OB Motors.
We have since issued small claims court proceedings, they failed to even submit a defence and CCJ was granted. Now I am waiting on imminent bailiff action.
Also be warned!!! On Google they are stacking it up with fake reviews. Almost hundred positive reviews in a week, some even with same surnames, same English, same way of typing.
Please do not get stung by Gareth! Be very careful please!
Fantastic
Great service with knowledgeable staff! Leigh was very helpful and made the whole process quick and easy. Thank you Leigh!
