Great product

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Reco Surfaces has been extremely disappointing and has cost me a significant amount of time and money. As you will read for other reviews the business is happy to blame customers, despite multiple reviews and instances of the same reported issues.

I purchased their PVC wall panels after seeing their website and videos describing the product as DIY-friendly, easy to cut, and durable. Unfortunately, the product I received was none of these things and Reco Surfaces, other than offering a 10% discount on my order refuse to do anything. Interestingly the 10% offer is still significantly less than the panels are now available at for their Black Friday sale.......

1. Panels cracked and shattered when cut

Despite following all the recommended handling and storage instructions (removed from packaging promptly, stored flat, not rolled or bent), the panels were extremely brittle.
When attempting to cut them — even carefully — they snapped and shattered, making several panels unusable.
Cutting attempts included:

Fresh Stanley blade (as shown in Reco’s own video)

Dremel

Fine-toothed saw

None of these methods prevented the brittleness and cracking.

2. Their “DIY friendly” and “easy to cut” claims are misleading

Reco’s marketing strongly emphasises that their panels are suitable for DIY installers and that only standard tools are required. Their website and publicly available videos show PVC-style panels being cut with a Stanley knife — with no clear warning that this method is “not suitable” for PVC versions.
Reco now claims these videos are “old” or only refer to acrylic, but there is nothing online making this distinction clear to customers. If a company leaves instructional content public — and doesn’t label it as outdated — that’s on them, not the customer.

3. Panels scratched despite having the protective film still on

This was separate from the cutting issue.
While manoeuvring a panel into position, the edge of another panel caused deep scratches, even though the “scratched” panel still had its protective film intact.
The product is advertised as “scratch proof” and “Teflon hard-coat scratch resistant.” My experience showed that even minor contact results in visible damage.

4. Customer service response was poor

Instead of acknowledging the issues, I was offered 10% compensation and told the problem was due to:

Using the wrong cutting tool

Panels being brittle because they were stored rolled (they were never rolled)

An old video being misleading (but still publicly available with no disclaimer)

I provided photos and explanations, but the company refused to accept that the product was not as described, not fit for purpose, and not of satisfactory quality.

5. Ultimately had to remove the panels and start again

The finish was so poor and the material so fragile that I had no choice but to remove what I had installed and replace it with a different product entirely, at my own expense.

In summary:

Product quality was extremely poor

Website and video guidance is misleading

Panels are not DIY-friendly as advertised

Brittle, easily damaged, and prone to cracking

Customer service unwilling to take responsibility

I am now pursuing a refund under Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act due to the product being unfit for purpose and not as described.

I strongly advise anyone considering Reco Surfaces to do thorough research and be wary of relying on their videos or marketing claims. My experience has been costly, frustrating, and completely avoidable.

Be prepared for a bit of a wait for delivery(6 weeks for us). But very pleased with the quality of the panels. We had metro tiles for bathroom with grey concrete for shower area .Communication was very good instant replies to emails.Overall would recommend them ,easy to fit the panels as well.

My delivery took much longer than 20 days to arrive and I think £50 postage is quite steep for the tube that I received.

Ordered on 9/12/2025, 11 working day to Christmas. No customer service email to tell me how long they are shutting down at the end of the month for the Christmas /New Year holiday and my delivery would not be there until the New Year, also I’m not buying 10 m² of solid tiles.

Great product - delivery time not as in advert!

Unfortunately not a good service Reco accepted the order but no indication when delivery would happen When chased I was told 8/12 but nothing arrived chased again and no answer Chased again to a different person and was told they had them on the shelf and would be delivered tomorrow. Nothing arrived, chased again no answer, then parcel was declared lost by courier but Reco just said it's on it's way ? No names but certain staff should do their job better.

After an unfortunate little delay in dispatch, Colin was brilliant and got everything in great condition to my project. The dependable quality was excellent and the finished result was praised by the plumber. The plastic was easy to cut with a jigsaw with the correct plastic saw blade (which I recommend). Easy to seal too.

A little more pricey than I'd anticipated after buying all the sealant and tapes etc but the time saving was immense and the continuity of plastic tile made it perfect for a shower bath. Would buy again.

The idea of the product is great, but the execution is poor. It may just be the brick tile effect variant I purchased, but here’s my experience:
Ordered only to be told it’s a two week delivery time as made to order - fair enough. Charged £53 for delivery (not sure why it costs this much to deliver - I’ve had washing machines delivered for far less than that) then delivery date missed by 5 days, no explanation or apology.
Now to the actual product. We bought the white tile effect with grey grout. The panels look lovely but they are impossible to cut cleanly. The website says to use a sharp knife. I used brand new Stanley knife blades and clamped down a steel straight edge from my track saw to cut. The knife blade caused jagged cracking and splinter cracks in the panel. Then tried a fine tooth jigsaw blade, that was worse. Then dried a fine cut hand saw, no better. The best means I found was using a mini router on my dremel at high speed. Even then the edge cut is dreadful, all jagged. Then once eventually cut to size and despite being super careful as the panels are incredibly brittle and fragile, I touched one corner against a tiled floor as negotiating in to place and a 2 inch section splintered off from the corner - disaster! As the panel is bumpy where the tiles are, it’s not a flat back panel, so needs twice as much adhesive to fill the gaps to attach to the wall.
I have eventually managed to fit and it looks quite good in place, but all things considered I wish I had used ceramic tiles and cut each to fit.
I’m confident the panels will remain waterproof for some time, that is assuming that I’ve managed to silicone all the gaps created by the jagged edges from the cutting process.
In summary not worth the cost and the faff of trying to cut and fit. Wish I had just used ceramic tiles as I’ve done many times in the past with no problems at all.

Excellent customer service and very nice product. unfortunately was not suitable for the project in progress, and therefore had to return. Disappointing as looked very nice. No issue with the product. Would Prompt delivery.

Product is fine, but delivery was missing an item. This was re-sent but meant the job wouldn't be completed by Christmas as expected, so somewhat disappointing

Amazing customer service, my order was delivered within 3 days as promised and looks lovely in my bathroom. Highly recommend!

The way this company deals with customers is outrageous.

False claims consistently made on their website about the quality and price of their products.

Price this yourself, m2 for tile and their panels. Tiles are significantly cheaper and these panels do not look quality or high end. They are flimsy plastic panels that are difficult to cut and almost impossible to leave a clean finished edge.

Would recommend avoiding.

** following on from Reco's reply, I can confirm this review is based on real experiences as I have the remnants of their product lying in my garage awaiting disposal at the tip.

The guides as shown on their website and instructions printed on the box were all followed but sadly the product wasn't up to job and now the company have issues being called out for it and their poor customer service.

As stated previously - AVOID.

(They also like to throw the word defamation about when they don't like being called out on their poor product/service).

Excellent product. Easy to install/use. Great range of designs. Fabulous customer service. Will definitely be checking out designs again when we decorate our bathroom.

Very good product and customer service too.
We were on our way to collect our order in person when we had a bad car accident, so bad the car has been written off.
Both cars occupants only had minor injuries after both cars air bags deployed.

Called Reco surfaces to ask them to post my order and they sent my order free of charge.

Tile panels arrived on time and were as described. They’re easy to fit for a novice diy-er

I was actually pretty impressed with this company.

I ordered the metro bevel tile wall panel which arrived in good condition and was well packaged.

I followed the information on the website regarding how to fit it properly and I managed it no problem despite having never done anything like this before.

Onyx backsplash print is off focus. It comes up on search as recommended for landscape installation, the online picture suggests longitudinal lines, whilst the backsplash itself has short, vertical, poor quality print, resembling wood planks rather than onyx.
The backsplash was delivered rolled up, so not sure why it incurs a delivery fee of over 50£. This has been deducted on return with an additional 15% of the order price. So I've lost 80£ in the process, whilst tiles to cover the same area costed me 100£.
A complete waste of money on a cheap looking product.

The panels arrived badly damaged and were bit food quality they looked very cheap
I had to send constant emails as Fedex courier did not collect on 3 occasions
Nit good enough.
Am still awaiting my refund which is a substantial amount.

I can’t recommend this company highly enough. The products are as expected, the Metro Bevel tile panel mimics tiles without all the fuss of tiling and grout. What stands out more is the exceptional customer service from Tori in their office. She’s efficient, great communication and is the kindest lady…if Reco haven’t given her a pay rise already this year, she’s the best, you should! Would definitely use this company again purely based on the customer service from Tori

Very happy with the products and service received. Slight hiccup with delivery that was rectified by Sharon & Tori. Items received and installed and look brilliant.
