Patagonia was an area I'd flown over but never visited. It was good to be amongst the mountains & glaciers - interestingly there was little wildlife in the water, mostly due to time of year. The only negative was that we couldn't get to Torres del Paine National Park, definitely a disappointment, but reasons are understood. The crew did their best to "pacify" some angry passengers - most of us understood the reasons and accepted them.

Every single aspect of the trip from getting on board to departing Longyearben was first class. We The daily activities were exceptionally well planned, the lectures and interactions with expedition staff were amazing, the food was delicious and helathy and the cabin was very comforatable not to mention the ship was extremely stable and wonderful. Svalbard was just beautiful, every moment anything wonderful could happen and the scenery cannot be described other than amazingly beautiful.

Was a good trip, got to see 10+ polar bears which was a highlight, but other wildlife was limited. Visits to the Intuit villages were very interesting

The overall trip with Quark was outstanding. They took care of us from the time we arrived in Punta Arenas till our return. Excellent communications, excellent people. The boat was great, the food and service outstanding. Quark took care of every detail, made us feel safe and provided an excellent itinerary. We have already recommended this trip to friends.

I cannot fault this expedition, which was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us. The Arctic scenery was spectacular and we saw all the wildlife expected at the time of year: polar bears, walruses, seals, arctic foxes, reindeer and many species of birds. Routines and safety measures were clear and efficiently executed at all times and the different physical capabilities of passengers were sensitively catered for. As well as being personable and informative, the expedition staff were experts in their fields (ornithology, glaciology, geology, etc.) resulting in fascinating expeditions on land and at sea. In addition to this they gave evening presentations and sat with us at meal times. The in-house photographer was very approachable, providing advice and, at the end of the holiday, digital rights to his wonderful photographs. Our cabin was spacious and comfortable with full-length patio windows providing panoramic views. The service and restaurant staff were all very pleasant and efficient, and the meals were excellent, with plenty of choice. I would not hesitate to book with Quark again and would even do this particular trip again if I could!

The expedition leaders appear to be motivated by 2 things: making sure you have the best experience possible, and keeping you safe. They are experienced, caring and joyful. I can't say enough about how terrific the staff is. This trip to Greenland had beautiful fjords, cultural sights, and historical interest. The helicopter rides will live in my memory forever and landing on the ice sheet was spectacular. We loved our trip.

From the moment of meeting the Quark welcoming team at the airport hotel I knew this was going to be an unforgetable experience. I couldn't fault the planning of getting everyone from the hotel to the flight departure lounge and to the arrival at Longyearbyen. We were received like royalty on the arrival at the ship. The safety briefing and welcome aboard was well conducted. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was so well presented. I was in food heaven. Every day's activities was well organised and clearly detailed. The expedition crew were so knowledgeable and helpful. Always on the lookout for wildlife sightings and taking the best advantages for them to be seen. The evening wrapups of the days activities and the following day's outings were well conducted. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. I loved the concept of small passenger numbers, more intimate and I pretty well got to know everyone. The cabin was perfect and well maintained daily. Heading into the icecap was unexpected and a wonderful experience as was the nerve wracking polar plunge, done with everyone's safety foremost. I really am struggling to find the words to describe this wonderful journey but it would have to be one of the best travel experiences I have had.

Very disappointing to see 3 polar bears in the distance, they could have been something else .
All advertising is about polar bears however no mention that you have to remain at least 500 m distance.
Not enough binoculars on board.
Longyearbyen was great despite being there only a few hours.
Food excellent so was the staff. We travelled to Antarctica with Ponant in 2017 and scenery is much more spectacular than the Arctic. Also much more wildlife.
Interesting many staff agreed and a lot of passengers who had been to Antarctica also agreed.
Wouldn’t recommend this trip.

Absolutely everything, from the expedition team to the serving staff and cabin attendants.
Excellent food and gorgeous cabins.
The expedition team made it so easy to get into and out of the zodiacs in order to enjoy every cruise or landing.
The lectures were very informative.

All 4 of my voyages have had great itineraries. The ship and interpretive staff always seem very happy and motivated to support all the passengers in whatever way they can. I have noted the Quark personnel are the best I have encountered on numerous voyages. The food is the best I've ever had over any extended period. The ships are kept in great condition. The interpretive staff are also the most helpful and provide very interesting zodiac rides, hikes, on-board narratives and daily programs.

Going with Quark was amazing, a TRUE expedition cruise, our cruise was changed from the moment we boarded due to bad weather, this bad weather and change of course ended up being our greatest asset due to places we got to visit not normally visited, this was partly due to such a small ship with only 105 passengers. We got to see more than if we had stuck to our initial itinerary, this is what a true expedition is all about. Bigger ships cannot get this.

"Professional" would be a one word summing up - from the ship itself, through the catering and hotel staff, to - especially - the expedition staff. The size of the ship matters, being small enough to enable shore and cruise expeditions by Zodiac - an experience which just doesn't exist on the large ships.

And not just leading excursions off ship - so many of them were researchers and expert in their own field, and it showed in the quality of many of the presentations. (Special mention to Ross for his history lectures, especially regarding the Franklin Expedition. Quite an achievement to get across a huge amount of detail accurately, whilst making the lectures very interesting AND amusing at the same time. Excellent.)

A great trip. The route was changed to below the Antarctic circle ensure weather conditions were optimal. zodiac tours were good for wildlife sitings and from the ship. Food and wine excellent. new Years Eve with the sun still up was memorable.

The main reason for my last trip was to see the total eclipse in Greenland on my birthday. It was a truly amazing experience, made so by the quality and experience of the expedition leader and the crew.
I could only encourage people join Quark to visit the polar regions. The knowledge of the staff is unsurpassed and the quality of the whole package brings me back time after time.. from my first trip in 2020 I have continued to return trying to find a different trip each time… I haven’t run out yet!
People have asked me on trips why I come back so many times and at the end they come up and say “we see why now”

Professional but on a personal level. Sets expectations and delivers. Food and beverage service excellent. Leader knowledge exceptional. Upbeat atmosphere and a caring touch to satisfy making the trip memorable.

I've traveled with Quark on 4 voyages and have loved everyone of them. The best was on the KK in 2020 to Antarctica to see the Emperor Penguins but the other 3, the last one was this past May 2026 to Svalbard, were also delightful. The Expedition staff have a vast amount of knowledge about the sights we are seeing and yet all of them are very warm and friendly. I hope to be able to travel on many more Expeditions with Quark.

Quark is great! I love that your price is very inclusive: The hotel before the cruise, the charter getting to the remote location, the boots, the walking sticks, nice polar jacket, even a helicopter ride over a glacier on a previous trip! The ship had very knowledgeable staff so that each zodiac trip was interesting and very informative. We saw 5 polar bears in Svalbard! The small ship size made it easy to meet and get to know people from all over the world. There was great camaraderie with all the guests.
