It’s a great self-paced course filled with proofreading resources that will guarantee success if followed to the tee. Personally I do know I could have completed this course faster if not for letting fear and doubt get the best of me! Looking forward to networking and gaining more insight as an upcoming freelancer. And thanks to the FB community of students and moderators who answer questions without bias.

Great online training system

I find learning on Proofread Anywhere a very positive experience. I believe that, as a training organisation, PA has developed an excellent learning system that is comprehensive, user-friendly, and supportive.

It offers lots of resources to students during training as well as after graduation, e.g., posting available jobs that provide graduates choices to find proofreading opportunities. I love their success stories, mentors and frequent encouragements, that have lifted me up on occasions when I seem uninspired and feel like giving up.

The only area where I feel PA could possibly improve on, is the turn-around time for responding to requests, which in my experience took up to two days. This was acceptable for me as it was not an urgent query. I understand that delays such as this occur because of the scope and size of this global training organisation.

I loved it! I will recommend to everyone if they are interested in proofreading!

I enjoyed learning from Proofread Anywhere because the lessons give a comprehensive study of the necessary guidelines for proofreaders of court transcripts, as well as how to use the applications on desktop, IPad, and other platforms. I also appreciate the clues we received when we didn't pass the midterm and final transcripts on the first try, as opposed to passing or failing and not knowing what we had missed! Thank you!

I gave Proofread Anywhere four stars because I felt the updates and emails were about old stories rather than current situations I could relate to or be inspired by. Because of the timeframes, I didn’t feel we were on the same page.
However, I did receive the email about the “Where Are They Now” updates, which was helpful.

Its legit!! This wasn't a scam (hard to find in the online job market), it was short, self-paced, and has actually equipped me to begin my freelance proofreading business! Highly recommend to any grammar nerds who are tired of their 9-5.

I really liked how much focus there was on vocabulary. Would have liked a bit more on punctuation though. That’s where I struggle most. But I definitely believe this course helped me a lot.

I am enjoying the learning courses, and I am learning a lot. I am just having trouble using the proofreading software this course recommends. Software usage instructions can be complicated. I am just continuing and will come back to that later. 😊

General Proofreading Theory & Practice was a great overview of what a proofreader does (and doesn't do), how to find resources for doing the work, and for finding work and creating a business. The module layout was organized well and split up into manageable amounts of learning time with helpful practice worksheets and essays to go along with the lessons.

Personally, I would have preferred a more visual presentation. The slides with someone reading a script was informative but sometimes felt too basic. For me, videos showing the workflow of a proofreader in process of proofreading an essay would have been helpful, especially when learning the various annotating tools and when learning to incorporate style guides and sheets.

Amazing experience! Covers everything you need to know.... absolutely vital information. And an amazing community.

The course was thorough and covered almost every topic I could think of. I wish there had been a section similar to the "myth-busting" emails that you have been sending recently. Some things, like "Possessive case modifies a gerund," are so completely burned into my subconscious that I cannot ignore them. You absolutely have to put in the time with the practice essays - they help a lot plus they cover everything you learn.
As far as the non-content part of the course, up until I finished and submitted my exam I found the customer service to be excellent. Whenever I emailed with a question it was answered immediately. When I submitted my final exam, it took a full four weeks to get the results. I enquired about it several times and never really got a response that made sense. That is honestly my only criticism of the course. I really enjoyed it and plan to take the Transcript Proofreading course next.

It was very informative and truly has taught me everything I need to know to be a successful proofreader. It was well worth the investment.

This course prepares one to be able to fully engage in the profession of proofreading. It has in-depth, step-by-step instructions on punctuation, correct usage of compound words, and many other aspects of correctly written language.

I was skeptical when I first heard of this course and was hesitant to spend the money. But I am passionate about writing and grammar so after a fairly thorough investigation I decided to purchase the course. Boy, am I glad I did! I found the course to be extremely well laid out and user friendly, and the online resources and social media groups to be invaluable. They were very upfront and honest that it is not a "get rich quick" scheme, and if you want to make money at this you do have to do a decent amount of work after completing (and passing) the course to get your first paid work. That would be my biggest advice...don't go into it thinking that once you pass the course you'll magically start making money. You will only get out of it what you put into it. I am happy that I followed my gut and purchased the course, and having passed the final exam I'm now working on the required steps to turn this into an income stream. Highly recommend.

The refresher courses were excellent and helped me increase my skills in proofreading. However, I am having trouble syncing my I-pad with i-Annotate. Could someone please give me help in accomplishing that?

The modules were so user-friendly! I especially liked the fact that there was a quiz at the end of each module. I'm a visual person, so hearing the audios and watching the videos at the same time really helped me absorb and retain the information!

Plus, the constant emails that I received giving me encouragement and commendation! Loved it!

This course was a great English refresher. I loved how easy this was and a great reminder of all than I had already known. I loved the worksheets and the lessons. I need to finish the quiz but I wanted time to study so I can get the highest score possible. I look forward to my first client.

This course is well worth the cost and the time it will take to complete it. I have learned so much and have been refreshed on what I had forgotten. I highly recommed this course
