Just had a lefthand hip replacement,first class service from the start staff really friendly and professional,can’t thank them enough , the Consultant Gyorgy top class .

Just had a partial knee replacement ( so did my wife last year ) at barlbourgh.
Also had a hip replacement in 2021 .
We can't praise this practice plus hospital highly enough what superb and professional teams they have at this hospital , from induction to departure all the staff were absolutely top draw .
The attention to detail and care all the teams deliver are faultless , as a patient you are made to feel special throughout the whole process , my comment is that all the staff teams are " SUPER SPECIAL " and put all the patients at ease with their very unique and caring attitude, so a special thanks from my wife and i , we will be spreading the word about barlbourgh nationwide .

I had an hip replacement 2nd October. The nurses couldn’t do enough for me they were so lovely & attentive. The surgeon came to see me before my operation & he made me feel more relaxed & less stressed, he explained everything & told all on the ward what time we would be having surgery.
The food was very good, fresh & lots of choice . You could order several items off the food menu & there was definitely enough food on your plate. All in all my experience was a lovely experience even though I was having surgery. I would definitely recommend choosing this hospital for any future operations. Would like to mention Mel who was one of the nurses she was outstanding & made me feel at ease & more comfortable. Thank you Balborough team x

I was very impressed with how quickly Barlborough made contact with me following the initial referral from the Derbyshire Musculoskeletal Team. The appointment for the consultation with the Surgeon, and pre-op process also came through quickly. When I attended this appointment I was very impressed with how Professional and kind everyone was, and how they had a natural ability to make you feel relaxed whilst discussing major surgery. I was also impressed that medical jargon wasn't used, and therefore everything discussed was explained very clearly. Whilst in Barlborough for the actual procedure, I was treated with respect throughout, and I felt very well looked after by everyone I came into contact with. Each step was also clearly explained to me. I chose to have my operation at Barlborough based on recommedations from people I know, who have had hip replacement operations there. I am so thankful that I did, and I wouldn't hesitate to use Barlborough again if needed, and to recommend Barlborough to others. I was referred via the NHS, and due to Barlboroughs relatively short waiting time, I chose to remain on this pathway, as opposed to choosing the private patient route.

Well organised, thorough and extremely helpful. The staff excelled in the considerate care that they gave.

I have just been discharged following a hip replacement.
From referral by my GP to operation was only 7 weeks, excellent.
From my first appointment with the consultant and nurse in pre-op right through to the ward and discharge everyone has been wonderful. All my needs were attended to with dignity.
I received a lot of information, both verbal and written, around my care which was very attentive and courteous.
The ward was very clean. The food good with plenty of choice.
Thank you to everyone who looked after me.
Now it’s over to me to do my exercises as directed by the physio. Onwards and upwards!

A very well run hospital with all the services required for Orthopaedic surgery close at hand. The staff had an excellent approach to their different job roles and were caring, friendly and engaging. Charles my consultant was excellent and took the time to explain everything involved.

All the staff, everyone, so welcoming, helpful, food just an amazing place. I dont like hospitals, was expecting to be out same day after hip replacement, but had to stay in, was very anxious, but so glad I stayed.

The whole team from those in admin, nursing and physiotherapy through to the surgeon were friendly and efficient. I've now been discharged and my hip replacement thus far is a great success.

I could not have had better treatment than if I had paid, from Mr Springer, the 2 aenthatist and staff in the recovery room. The xray staff, porters and receptionists were all very good. All the staff on the ward were friendly and helpful, especially Elaine. The food was good and the ward was spotless. Thank you all very much. Sorry I missed the physio, he was very good and patient.

Very quick in getting a private MRI scan. Everyone was very friendly and explained the process from start to finish.

Top marks for Michael (pharmacist) Mr Springer and my anesthetist. Staff, the care nurses and catering was terrific.

I had a Total Left Hip Replacement. I was made to feel at ease, from the Surgeon Mr Lovasz, the Anaesthetist Dr Kapoor, Assistant B. Miles and all the Staff in theatre and Recovery room. What a fantastic team. I couldn't praise & thank them enough. Not forgetting all the nurses on the ward and the Physios i came in contact with, the Admin Staff who i spoke to on the phone to book my surgery, all very pleasant and professional. Nothing was too much trouble, so caring. Well done everyone. I would recommend the Barlborough to anyone, who is thinking about surgery, they are over and above the care they all give, you would never find a better hospital.

Had a partial knee replacement at barlborough.Only been home a day,it's painful to say the least,but have to thank everyone at the hospital.EVERYONE at the hospital deserves credit for the care I received,top class service ,professional, with a bit of humor thrown in at times.Cant praise everyone enough and can't remember all the names,but Jane,who cared for us on the ward during the day,is such a wonderful person.Abbie,the physio,too.Sorry if I haven't named the people I met,but want to offer my thanks to everyone there for their caring, compassionate, professional attitude.The team there is absolutely fantastic,keep it up guys,you do a fantastic job.Thank you all so much ,John

This was my second total hip replacement, so I was more aware what to expect this time around albeit at a different hospital.
What I perhaps wasn’t expecting was just how friendly, caring and even funny all the staff were, all of the time. I was always made to feel special, despite it being a busy ward. Professional skills were exemplary, and so were their people skills. Not often, in any trade, do you find a whole department that excel in both
My consultant was so detailed and explained everything at a level to match my understanding. The surgery went so well, it was only less than two days ago but I feel little pain and walk well with crutches
I will recommend very highly this hospital to anyone seeking a joint replacement
