Post Office Travel Money Card Anmeldelser 

Over the years I have used this card reliably. However earlier in the year I had it declined in Germany and more recently declined in Denmark. First of its declined on tap and go , then i am asked to enter PIN number and it’s declined again. I have checked i am entering the correct number. On other occasions it’s been accepted. Having to have a backup card to hand , makes it less than useful.
Tried to register card with dsb (danish travel app) enter card details, then some text from post office appears about wanting to prevent fraud and do a 0 transaction, so I open up post office app, and there is no transaction to authorise. Go back to dsb app and card details have disappeared. Yet when I register my Barclaycard card added with no authorisation or issues.

Wanted to give my son £10, this would cost £13.

I was not happy on trying to use my card evening of the 18Aug and would not work declined many times . Found out the app was down . A big problem in trying to pay my bill with no other money . Especially a broad away from home

Just in the process of loading the card up at the moment and everything is good so far. Staff are friendly and efficient and knowledgeable.

Annoyed. I’ve been using this card for years on the assumption that it was a cheaper way to pay for things while travelling in Europe than using my normal UK debit card.

However, on a recent trip to France, I compared the exchange rates and was really disappointed to discover that I would actually have got a better rate using my regular debit card. In other words, using my Post Office card was costing me more money, not saving me money.

I feel quite misled, as the whole reason I’ve continued to use the card abroad was because I believed it offered a financial advantage. I certainly won’t be using my Post Office card again.

I ordered a Post Office travel card ,and found it to be an easy transaction. Adding funds to the card is made easy .Great service .

Easy to use perfect for saving for holiday, never refused and so easy to top up. Glad i got it

Normally good, but unable to obtain an up to date balance as we left?

Put some money on the post office travel card for holiday in France. Whilst the card worked fine in most places, I found it impossible to top it up. The app kept coming up with an error message. I called the help line and they said it was because of the security with my bank. However, I was approving the transaction in my banking app, and it was the post office's system that wasn't working (I spoke with my bank also who confirmed they weren't blocking the payment).

Followed the advice of customer services who said, go on the website instead of the app and make the top up payment that way. Tried it in different ways about 10 times, kept getting error messages. Gave up at this point and just went back to using my usual bank card, incurring higher transaction charges for using abroad.

Would not use Post Office card again. My friends use Revolut so will look into that, or a similar service. Will definitely research it more next time as I don't want a repeat of this experience.

Would not recommend.

So easy to apply for the card and topping up is easy. Just use it to pay as a normal debit card in the currency you loaded on the card.

I like the general concept and handiness of this card, but I have an older, expired, card on my app that I don't seem to be able to get rid of

It appears on my app and will still allow me to credit money onto it, but is then of no further use

Also, when I spent money whilst on holiday, then later looked at my balance, the money I spent had not been deducted and gave the impression that I had a larger balance than I really had

Once I 'opened' the card the balance then corrected itself

It is possible that I have misunderstood something but overall my experience of this service was positive

Disappointed - Had my card for 3 years with no problems. Tried to add funds for holiday and it wouldnt work. 4 calls later after being advised to register my existing card again, change password, try on computer instead of phone app I am no further on. It let me change password and sent me code but then when I entered it a message oops something went wrong. Another phone call and told by advisor they had never came across that error before and would raise it with IT. Glad I didnt leave it until last minute and that there is only 4 euros left on it from last holiday. Not filled me with confidence using this service by post office anymore and will now look to use an alternative travel money card. 👎

Apparently the app wasn't working correctly the night before we flew out, they told me to log on on-line via their website, then was told my ID didn't match the driving licence I gave the post office assistant. I had to exchange money at the airport in the end, was on the phone for an hour trying to sort it, they were very unhelpful. I've just managed to get back to the post office to complain, they put me onto the money card customer service, they wanted me to send them a photo ID of my driving licence, at this point I completely lost it, end result is I'm getting a refund of the money originally put on the card and I'm emailing them all the charges I've had to pay to withdraw money, they said they will refund, I won't hold my breath in that.....

Despite several visits to the Post Office and calls with your Customer Care services, my card was blocked whilst I was on holiday and I was unable to use it. I have no idea why it was blocked, the card is of no use to me whatsoever!

I have to uninstall and reinstall every time I top it up I just hope it works when in need to use it in Spain next month.

Absolutely appalling company. I'm not actually sure where to start.
Queues a mile long in every post office, not the staffs fault, just completely understaffed. Staff that aren't fully trained on all of the systems the PO offer, systems that continually crash or fail with no warning. I bought currency on line, for collection the next day, for some unknown reason one of the currencies turned into a money card deposit, no warning, it just did it. It was at that point the nightmare of trying to get a money card, with the currency I had ordered, sorted out. I now have a card on order that won't arrive until after I fly and card I bought over the counter that's not recognised by the app. The PO was great years ago, not any more.

Great service and easy to use. Great way to add spending money throughout the year .
