Je suis artiste peintre à la maison des artistes . Je suis tombée sur ce site et franchement TOP ! Au début j'ai eu un peu de mal . Je trouve vraiment génial de pouvoir faire mon portfolio carte d'identité artistique avec un petit prix . Du coup je peux présenter mon travail avec un visuel professionnel , c'est propre , ça fait sérieux . Car même si je suis émergeante il est super important d'avoir un bon site de présentation de son travail

I have been a paying Portfoliobox customer for six years and manage two websites on their platform. On May 12, 2026, I hit my image limit. The platform's own Services panel showed an active "Extra Images" listing for $12 USD. I attempted to purchase it and could not complete the transaction. I emailed support the same day with a timestamped screenshot of the live listing embedded in my email.

Support told me the offer had been removed "some time ago" — while it was still visible and active inside my account at the time I submitted the screenshot.
When I pushed back, support offered 500 images as a one-time exception with two basic risk disclosures. I accepted in writing. Portfoliobox confirmed my acceptance in writing the same evening. The following morning, they introduced an entirely new eight-point risk disclaimer and stated I must formally accept it before they would proceed. The terms were changed after agreement had already been reached.
The eight risks I was required to formally accept — for images I had already agreed to receive — were:

1. Partial upload failure with no warning
2. Existing images becoming inaccessible
3. Significant page load degradation
4. Automatic image deletion or corruption
5. No guaranteed recovery for lost images
6. Website downtime or instability
7. Unpredictable errors that cannot be diagnosed or fixed
8. Removal from standard technical support priority

None of these appear in Portfoliobox's published General Terms. Section 5.7 defines one consequence for exceeding service limits: a temporary account disable if a user transfers more than 100 GB per month. My site is well within that threshold. When I asked for a published link supporting the disclaimer, none was provided.
During the exchange, their support team cited the Data Processing Agreement as the legal basis for the disclaimer. That document is a GDPR personal data processing agreement. It contains no language related to image quotas, service limits, or data loss. In a later email, they acknowledged the DPA has no bearing on US-based customers — confirming it should never have been cited.

In their Trustpilot reply, Portfoliobox states they "never referenced the Data Processing Agreement as a legal basis." That is contradicted by the written exchange. They also now cite Sections 5.8 and 18 of their General Terms as the basis for the eight-point disclaimer. Those sections were never mentioned in any of the nine emails I received from their team. When I asked for a published link supporting the disclaimer, none was provided.
No reasonable paying customer should be required to accept those eight terms for a service their platform actively advertised at $12 USD — and had already confirmed delivering.

I have filed a complaint with the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. All correspondence, screenshots, and published terms are retained as documentation.

As a University student, this is the most reliable and easy to use service when it comes to a portfolio service.

I made a portfolio on Portfoliobox and it was honestly the best price. Believe me, I looked around quite a bit! Not only is it the best value, it's very easy to build and customize your website to look exactly how you want it. Honestly I don't have any negative things to say, it's super simple and looks great!

Iam using Portfoliobox since a couple of years. What i like is they costantly working on Performance and new Features. The support is always available which is very important when i comes to questions like seo performance.
My wish would be some more styles, when it comes to photoseries popping up by clicking one pic. So one star less for that :)

I’ve known about PortfolioBox since 2016. Back then it felt like the perfect portfolio site. It was beautifully simple. Now it’s more robust with so many new features but it retains its nice minimalist simplicity. Much simpler, smoother, and overall more efficient experience than Wix or Squarespace. Both of which I’ve used before.

I've been a paying customer for 6 years, and recently tried to migrate my website from Portfoliobox 3 to their newest version 4. The process has taken weeks, and the amount of bugs and errors that have appeared due to it is insane. My website has also been down multiple times during the process, and is currently down too, which may actively harm job applications I've sent.

Customer service was initially very quick to reply, but now give very robotic, repetitive answers. I've followed every instruction from them, yet their own website keeps giving me the same old errors, prompting me to contact customer service again. It's an infinite loop and extremely frustrating.

How can a Portfolio builder have so many issues doing an internal migration? I've already paid for a whole coming year, yet my website is 404 right now.

The migration has now finally been fixed, which would normally prompt me to raise the rating, but I do not appreciate being blamed for Portfoliobox's issues. None of my cards have ever had any issues on any other websites or stores, and my bank does not block ordinary transactions in the EU. Furthermore, after your website rejected all forms of payment, including multiple different cards, it caused new errors, as well as my site going down. Clearly your system could be improved instead of blaming the customer.
