Sweets were made with poor quality oil which left a bad aftertaste. They did not even respond to email about it.

I placed my order based on the information clearly stated on Pooja Sweets’ website, which said that orders placed after the Christmas deadline would be scheduled for delivery in the New Year, commencing 6 January 2026. On that basis, I reasonably assumed the order would not be packed or dispatched until after that date. As I am moving into the delivery address on 5 January, I entered that address believing the delivery timing aligned with what was advertised.

Despite this, on 29 December I unexpectedly received an email confirming the order had already been dispatched, with no prior confirmation or warning. This directly contradicted the delivery timeframe shown on the website. I immediately contacted the company by phone that evening and was advised to email so the delivery could be recalled before it went out the following morning. I did exactly that, clearly explaining that I would not be in the property until 5 January and requesting the delivery be recalled and rescheduled.

However, the parcel was still dispatched and delivered to the address despite my advance warning and explicit request. I was told my instructions would be flagged and handled, but they were ignored. This shows a failure to act on time-sensitive information and a lack of internal coordination.

What makes this worse is the complete lack of customer service. I have been trying to contact Pooja Sweets for over four days via their provided contact email with no response at all, despite multiple follow-ups. When I contacted their social media team, I was simply told my message would be “passed on again,” which does nothing when emails are being ignored in the first place. There has been no acknowledgement, no timeline, and no attempt to properly address the issue.

This situation could have been avoided entirely if customer service had responded, if the delivery timeline on the website had been accurate, or if my recall request had been actioned as promised. Instead, I was left dealing with unnecessary stress and the risk of loss due to a delivery being made to an address I had not yet moved into. It’s disappointing that the only way to potentially get a response appears to be leaving a public review, when basic customer service is simply responding to customers — especially when the issue could have been resolved quickly.

I go to Pooja for their Kalakand. Unfortunately, today I bought some from them in individually wrapped pieces. I asked why, and was told because of its crumbly texture. I knew immediately that they had changed something. After trying it, I am dissapointed to say that it's not the same. When something is good, you have to leave it alone. The new recipe wasn't bad but it wasn't as good either and that's enough to put me off. I might look in the door again to see if it was an experiment and see if they have changed it back. If not, I won't bother anymore.

We are not local from another county. Otherwise I would have gone back demanding our account to be reimbursed. Went to their branch on the famous Melton Road, Leicester purchased Papadi Gathiya - completely stale and mixed bombay - some of this was stale. There bharfi was ok. Will not be coming back nor recommending to family and friends.

The food from here is delicious. I buy the daily thali and the lady who cooks and prepares this food cooks with pure heart. The sweets and other savories are delicious and amazing as well. I have recommended the same to all my friends and neighbors. Worth trying and would recommend 100%. I have visited their Kingsbury shop and that one is amazing as well. I love the Dhal. Visited Pooja Sweets in Crawley just recently opened. The worst mixed bhel
I ever had with no proper ingredients more cornflakes hardly any potatoes, onions, sev , peanuts and the 3 main chutneys and funny smell like cleaning detergent the next day as some left over. The Dokra was very dry and bland and the service was average not very friendly or helpful. No rush to buy again at this place. Need a lot of improvement

Pooja sweets kingsbury branch. Not at all expected behaviour from sales staff! Very rude and nonchalant. They seem to be selecting their customers it seems. We expect a better customer service from pooja sweets brand

Really disappointed.
I recently bought a prepackaged box of Rashmalai from Pooja sweets Tooting, turns out to be ruin one.
Very disappointed with the product.
This is first time ever in past the past 4yrs, now I am doubtful with the food hygiene.

If you have a sweet tooth or love savouries from India, these guys in Tooting, London, are pretty awesome. I had also had catering done for my birthday with them this month and everyone I had invited was licking their fingers. Reasonably priced as well.
