I can highly recommend Play Netball as a great way of keeping fit and meeting new people all whilst enjoying a netball match and gaining new skills. Even people who haven't played for years come back week after week. It's great fun and everyone is really friendly.

Really enjoying playing netball again after 15 years out. Sociable and fun, competitive too but the fun is not lost!

Newbury netball league is run well. Friendly and helpful umpires. Very organised co-ordinator.

I was really nervous about joining a team of players I didn't know to play a game that i hadn't played for around 20 years. I found i wasn't the only one. My game and fitness improved so fast and i soon got into it. I absolutely love playing every week now and really recommend it.

I love play netball I have only had 1 game but they r friendly and very welcoming role on the rest of the season

Playnetball are easy to communicate with if you have any queries and have good response times, the website where you look at the table and your fixtures etc could be a bit easier to use however in terms of netball the league I play in is well run and is a fun league to play in with good umpires and to my experience personally mostly friendly people to play games with too :)

Play Netball has been a great way for me to get back into team sport (which I love!!) They have recently updated their systems to enable teams to manage online. Although I think this could do with some tweaking (hence why I have only given 4 stars, and not 5) I think this is a great way forward for the teams and leagues to manage themselves.

Been playing since the league started in Newbury over 4 years ago. I love my Wednesday evening netball!

We have all enjoyed getting back to netball. Great teams and great umpires. Friendly games and a great way to keep fit

Really really bad!!

The first couple of weeks were okay, everyone was welcoming and friendly it after that initial few weeks the people who organise it got a bit nasty! Not welcoming, let alone the umpiring!!!
Again first couple of weeks were okay then it got very unfair and biased! Umpires are pretty useless, don’t call the right thing, don’t follow the ball on court so wouldn’t enable to call correctly even if they wanted to!
They are lazy and unfair!!!
I think they need a bit of work and maybe a check with the rule book!!

Considering this is such a expensive way to play netball ( ridiculous amount) I would have liked to think that you could spent a bit Of money on training or better umpires!

All in all pretty rubbish, there are many other friendlier, cheaper and better leagues to play in!

Our team were treated badly, not being move up a league in favour for a new team. They seem to be encouraging poor sportsmanship from the teams. They allow teams to completely replace their team with a team from the higher leagues, a basically cheat their way to a win. I was hoping for a fun league that I could play each week and just enjoy it but it became a struggle and was no longer fun. The umpires were mostly ok but there were some that were just unfair and rude. The cost is not worth it at all

Cost - way too expensive for a 32 min (4 x 8 min quarters) game!!!! For 2.5 hours worth of court hire (4 Games) £40 per team = £320!!

Poor umpiring - they don’t care about our health and safety in the slightest. Only there to take our money and spend it on hoodies for themselves. They don’t put it towards training and improving their skills which are incredibly sub-par.

Only reason I stick around is for my team !

Really easy to find a netball league to play in. Really responsive to questions and I now wouldn't look back. I joined in with some taster sessions in August and have now joined a netball team. Having got back into Netball after not playing since school, I wish I had joined sooner.

When I started with Play Netball, the atmosphere was welcoming, supportive and very relaxed. The games are now much more competitive, and umpires can be very strict (and often quite rude!) towards players. This is fine if there is expectation that players know the rules and are confident players - this isn't always the case, though. I do feel that this cannot be advertised as 'social' netball any longer. It is not as friendly as it once was, and it is very expensive. I do not feel we get value for money. I continue to play because I love the sport, exercise and my team mates. However, I will be seeking out a more supportive environment with training opportunities. I often question the health and safety measures in place. Last week we played in extremely heavy rain, the courts were dangerous. We were told play would only be suspended if someone hurt themselves! Surely then it is too late? We have had a number of injuries on courts in the past and there have not yet been any measures put in place to rectify things.
