Honest review after my first experience — got featured, here's what I think

Pillargram does what it promises. The submission process is clean and simple — you upload your artwork, photos, press release, and track, and you're good to go.

I make underground music, so I only found about 3 suitable magazines for my style. If you're in a more commercial lane, there's more choice. The network is still small, but the platform clearly just launched and is growing.

I did get featured through the platform, which is the whole point — so it works.

For the price, it's worth a shot. Results will depend on your music quality and genre fit more than anything else. Recommended for artists looking to build press presence on a budget.

In my opinion, this is the best platform out there for several reasons:

1. You only pay if you get coverage. I think this model is incredibly fair; it removes the risk of curators joining the platform just to make a quick buck by rejecting music outright. The $1 fee ensures that curators are there because they are genuinely looking for good music, not because they are trying to profit from every single submission.

2. There is a tipping system, which I love. Again, I applaud the fairness of this feature. It gives you the chance to show appreciation for the time and effort they took to listen to your song thoroughly, and give you feedback or cover your track.

3. Curators actually listen to the music. Unlike SubmitHub, where curators often breeze through submissions without really bothering to listen—sometimes playing a track for just over 30 seconds—the curators on this platform actually engage with the music.

4. The interface is sleek and easy to use. While there aren't a massive number of curators on the platform just yet, they already have a couple of giants like Earmilk and Wolf in a Suit. I truly hope more musicians move over to Pillagram, and that more curators follow. Pillagram simply deserves it.
