This is my first time using pickup please service and I have nothing to complain. I got email on the day before scheduled day to confirm the pickup, then got email on the scheduled day informing me the 3-hour time window for pickup. The truck arrived within the time window. It was raining when the truck arrived. I tried to cover up the boxes and bags as much as I could. Despite the rain, the driver picked each and every item. He had to run back and forth from the truck several times. I appreciate the service and recommend it.

I’ve used this service for years with great service until this week! I scheduled a pickup for Monday and indicated that we had “25+” parcels. The truck arrived at nearly 4:30 and apparently didn’t have enough room. Not really sure, bc the driver didn’t speak a word of English. Since he took only about five boxes, I rescheduled the next day. Again, the driver arrived at nearly 4:00 and again took only a handful of boxes. I rescheduled for a third day and felt confident that it would be okay because he was due to arrive before noon. The driver arrived, took the remaining boxes on the porch and left the small pieces of furniture sitting on the yard. Well, it rained. All of the items that we had were RUINED!!!!! Had we known this would have been such an issue, I would have called a different vendor. A company that really wanted to get these items to those that need them, not leave them for the landfill. We will never again use VVA!!!

This used to be a wonderful service. The last 3 times have been bad experiences. Where the pick-up please people come and riffle through and take what they want. The website says bags or boxes. Now today they didn't pick up because the boxes don't close. And left everything out in the rain and ruined the books and boxes.
Im not donating to them again.

How immoral and manipulative it is to make your company look like it’s all about donating to Veterans when it’s a FOR PROFIT company and you sell the items donated and give “some” money to a charity? What a scam we fell for. I will be spreading the word. Because if this and another scam I fell for regarding donating a vehicle to Veterans, I will only be donating items to local organizations that actually give to the people locally. What a sham and a shame our country has become!
I would ask to stop using the Vietnam veterans logo and USA colors on your site and wording to benefit from and trick the people willing to donate. No different than Goodwill

I called pick up please because they have contacted me multiple times about donating to them so this time on Saturday when our garage sale ended, I contacted them about picking up my extra items most of which have designer items, designer shoes, some purses, coats, boots, coffee maker, Works brand, new basically Keurig, a bladder shelf, blinds, bedding, lighting, drapery, rods, shower bench cushions for outdoor seating, Black & Decker blower but it’s also a mulcher a foot bath baby items they told me they’d be here today between 830 and four. I called this morning and they said they’d be here between actually 830 and 11 they didn’t show up. I called them they said now it’s 11 to 230 so I called them at three and right when I was about to call. I get a text saying they’re canceling I called and they said their truck broke down nice inconvenient. I have 30 boxes in my driveway and 30 more in my garage I have an HOA, which is not allow me to keep this stuff outside. This is in no way to do a pick up for donations when I told them when I called for the service I told them I have large items and they’d most likely want to pick up my stuff first to get in the truck so they could then fill it up with smaller items. They said yes that would be very helpful. Will let them know well this is what happened and now I’m stuck with having to try to fit 30 boxes back into my garage. That’s already overstuffed.

If I could give zero Stars I would. This organization is horrible. I use them twice. Third time I put all my stuff out again in boxes and bags. I had an ironing board out there and the driver left half the stuff. Why bother coming for a pickup? If you're going to leave half the stuff then they're telling me each individual item has to be tagged. This is a scam. Do not donate to them. I will be taking my stuff to Goodwill from now on. Horrible customer service as well. They want to argue with you over a donation. Unbelievable!

DO NOT USE! THEY ARE SCREWING OUR VETS! I used this company for the first time 3 days ago. But had to load the stuff in my car on day 2 in the pouring rain. I was so mad, I wanted my donation go straight to the vets. My Uncle is a 90 year old vet. I give to the VA over 40 years. I had 25 bags and 4 small boxes.First day, I had to call and find out what happen. I was told the driver pick-up. I'm like no my pile was still there, so a wasted day had to reschedule. Then my neighbor tells me the driver did show up. He blocked the driveway, sat in the truck texting over 15 minutes. Then he took 3 bags (I donated 25 bags and 4 small boxes). Took a step with the bags put them down and pulled out his phone and took pictures of the back of the building. Who does that? I had older neighbor scared to death. No idea who he was. This was so bad. Driver here 20 min and picked 3 bags out of 25? So I gave them another day and no show, no call, nothing. I did put in a call to talk to the local driver manager. Joke He was to call today between 8-10AM but never did. He decided to complete the ticket and not call me. That is NOT the way to due business. LEAVE MY VETS ALONE! They deserve more. Tried again today and no call. DO NOT USE waste of time. Use another company that is supporting our vets!

Terrible. Don’t waste your time. Your stuff will sit outside for days and be ruined as they don’t show up for the pickups day after day. Zero stars.

I have used this service several times. I'm tired of getting daily e mails wanting another donation. I read this is a for profit company on the internet.
I designated my donation to go to special Olympics of a veteran organization which they advertise. My recept shows thank you for helping out a California addition problem. I will donate directly to a specific organization in the future, not a for profit middle man.

I have bags on the porch, labeled and ready for pick up about 7 am althoughthey don'tstart picking up until about 8.
If i can'tchave bags ready on thhe pick up date, i call & cancel & reschedule.
I call throughout the day to check that drivers are still coming. Sometimes they come; Sometimes they don't! They are not really dependable. Sometimes i receive text messages or email from dispatcher that driver is on the way, but that is not always accurate. Not sure why drivers do not do their jobs better.
Sometimes drivers just don't come but say they did & no bags were available!

I would give ZERO stars if I could. I have been using this company for years and set up another pick up. They changed policies on what they will pick up and they did not take anything we put out this morning bc boxes open on top. He said he could not pick up the shelving unit so could not take it- even though I picked it up myself (as a much smaller than him woman) and offered to put it in his truck for him. Horrible. I will use another donation company.

I will say the GOOD FIRST:
Excellent communication from the actual scheduling people that actually answer the phone when you call them! They keep you informed of your scheduled pickup date and call just prior to the driver's arrival. A+ Customer Service!!! The truck arrives within the scheduled window just as said in their email. The truck is a large clearly marked Box Truck with plenty of space. They email you a tax write off for your donation!
THE BAD: Such an unbelievably RUDE DRIVER who, no matter how nice and overly nice I tried to be even helping him with organizing and loading the sacks, was bitter. He scolded me for not having my items in GARBAGE BAGS which he said he preferred. Nowhere on their site does it mention that by the way! He seemed IRRITATED that he was at my home! My home was very easy for him to pull the truck up to my front door where my donations were.
ALSO: As most people work during the week I feel they need SATURDAY PICKUPS so people don't have to take off to give to them.

Well over the years I have used this service and they were at the time quite reliable but the last few years and recently they have been awful. I scheduled a pick up last Thursday. Got a confirmation, had items out and ready to go and even recieved a pick up window. But no one showed up. I sent an email with no response so I scheduled for this past Monday. I got a confirmation and a pick up window but no one ever showed. Called the costumer service and the operator told me they were on the way. No one ever came. I am now on the third try and was told my pick up was 11 to 2. Its 3 and they are a no show. It also rained so the items are all wet. I would not rely on them..its ashame such poor management. I would like to report that 3rd time is the charm...after calling again they showed up. I realize this is a charity but why make people confirm not to show up. Just send a text or something. And this is the fourth time I have had no shows from them.

I will never count on this company again. I had quite a bit to donate and followed their directions to have my donation out before 8:00 in the morning. At 9:30, I got an email that they would be here between 11:30 and 2:30. I called at 3:00, when they hadn’t arrived, I called to confirm their plan to still come and was assured I was next. At 6:00, they STILL hadn’t come to pick up my donation!! I ended up having to load all of my stuff and take multiple trips to drop my things off at a different charity. It’s sad that the VVA are trusting this company and they are continuously missing out on donations due to their unprofessional way of conducting business.

This entire system works great! From scheduling process to email notification. Having options to donate to multiple organizations is always great .

Worst service ever. Stood me up 4 days in a row. Lied each time promised it would not happen again never came find a better charity

I saw the ad on Facebook, and was in the process of donating some stuff around the same time. It was more convient to get the stuff picked up from my house vs. finding time to drop it off somewhere during the time(s) I had available.

Scheduling the pickup was a breeze. I read what they took and what they wouldn't take. I left it all out for pickup, getting an email on the timeframe it would be picked up. I wasnt at home at the time, but the items were picked up..not all of it. Majority of it was left with no reason why. I was confused because the items were small enough (clothes/shoes/household appliances) for one person to pick up. It was disappointing to see majority of everything was left, and now Im left to start back at square one. I feel to make the process easier, is to specify what they'll take and how it should be packaged.

I've had three emails from Pickup Please, even though I live outside of the US, so not able to use them and had never heard of them. They have my email but seem to think I'm someone named B.... Lee and live in Moorpark CA. I wonder what happened today if and when they tried to collect from Ms Lee.

I can’t speak to the quality of this company’s actual services because I’ve never been a customer. Unfortunately, one of their trucks used my driveway to turn around and struck my retaining wall, causing significant damage. When I contacted the company, I was told that because I wasn’t a customer, they couldn’t help me.

Accidents happen, but how a company responds afterward says a lot. I was disappointed that they weren’t willing to take responsibility or assist with the damage their vehicle caused.

I have used Please Pickup several times with good experiences. Today, was the exception. I pulled 3 bags and 5 boxes out to our driveway before 8am as required. I received an email notification the driver would arrive between 9:15am and 12:15pm. I left early to run errands. When I returned my items were still in the same location in my driveway. I called the Customer Service for Please Pickup to see what happened with the driver. I was told the driver told the office he didn’t pick up the items because the items boxes were overfilled and items were spilling out. This was an absolute LIE!!! I previously took pictures of the boxed and bagged items. We also have a camera that captures the driveway. The other reason I know the driver lied is he was given a security code to enter our neighborhood. It notifies me when it’s been accessed. It appears the driver didn’t even make the trip to get the items…he just lied! I offered to send Customer Service Mgr pictures to show how the items were packaged as their driver was not telling the truth. I was told they have no way to receive email.
