Very good communication from the company, and money came through shortly after sending my phone off! Everything went incredibly smoothly.

Sent my IPhone on a Thursday, Phonebox notified they had received it on the Friday and paid the full quoted amount Monday morning

I was hesitant at first but I can’t fault them. Great service

I popped into The Phone Box recently, and honestly, I’m so glad I did. The team there couldn’t have been more helpful. They treated me like an actual person, not just another sale, which is rare these days!
They took the time to listen to what I needed, explained everything in a way that made sense, and never once pushed me toward something I didn’t want. You can tell they really know their stuff — and they genuinely enjoy helping people.
I walked out with the perfect phone, all set up and ready to go, and I didn’t feel stressed or confused like I usually do after dealing with tech. It was just a smooth, friendly, and honestly enjoyable experience.
If you need a new phone, repairs, or just proper straightforward advice, I’d 100% recommend giving The Phone Box a visit. They’ve definitely earned my trust — and my future business.

Absolutely shocking service sent them my phone to which they tried reducing the price by £370.
I refused and asked for phone to be sent back to them have it left on my front doorstep which had been stolen.
About 2 months on from this false promises a lies about them resolving it to nothing got done they took no liability for their actions compensation or duty of care to a customer.
Ignored for weeks on end. Would highly recommend not using them.

Wouldn’t recommend for the following reasons : quoted £300 for “good condition” and like majority of views read my device was in really good condition odd mark here and there but always had a screen protector and case on. Yet according them it had the following wrong apparently Diagnostics: Poor Battery Health: More than 500 Cycle Charges – (674 CC) – Report available upon request
Diagnostics: Telephoto camera quality fault – Dark spots appearing on camera – Report available upon request
Visible scratches and chips around housing – Images available upon request
Visible scratches around the rear camera rings – Images available upon request
Discolouration on back glass – Images available upon request.

Battery I agree with it’s a second hand phone but the rest I don’t and no images where provided they “revised” the offer by half £150 refused they then raised it to £175 refused this also the following day received a call from a lady who was really polite but I had the same scenario as every review on here she raised it to £200 started off by saying it just missed the “good criteria” I refused the £200 which to then said it would be classed as broken criteria and the price they where offering was only for “parts” yet apparently as above all the parts and main parts apparently weren’t any good ?…said I would like the device returning she went onto say she could try add her mark on the quote and she would email me the final revised offer of £235 or details to pay for the return of my device of £10.
I finally accepted the £235 because to be honest I was wary of getting my device back after reading others I’ve used another company twice Fonebox they have never knocked a penny off before and always had a good experience should of stuck to what I knew , having said that after accepting the £235 it was in my bank within a few hours but I would avoid this company and its dirty tactics !!

Phonebox were a terrific company to do business with as they ended up buying 2 separate mobile phones from me at the same time for the best prices that anybody had offered me for them after searching for quotes on all the usual “Compare The Prices” websites that listed their valuations at the very top of their findings. And just as other reviewers have mentioned, they also paid me the full amount for both phones not only on the same day that they’d received them, but literally within no more than a few short hours after Royal Mail had notified me that my package containing the 2 phones had been delivered to them!

I was particularly impressed by the very personal & attentive customer service that Nicola, who I got the impression was their Customer Service Manager or Higher, provided me with in the run-up to the sale, during it & afterwards with her Excellent After-Sales Customer Service to make sure I left as a Happy Customer, which I was & remain without question! At times one could be forgiven for thinking that I was PhoneBox’s only customer that day, given the amount of time & attention she dedicated to the purchase of both of my phones for a higher price than I ever would’ve thought I could get for both my handsets together in one go from a single Dealer!!! I’m probably going to have to keep buying mobile phones I don’t really need just so I can have one to sell her from time to time just to get another chance to have a good laugh talking to her & exchanging funny anecdotes on the old blower over of all things, buying & selling mobile phones, which normally wouldn’t exactly be a scintillating or even a mildly interesting topic of conversation!!!

The next time I have a phone to sell I shan’t hesitate to go straight to Phonebox to do business with them again, as they’ve been the best & highest & fastest paying place I’ve ever sold anything to, & especially after the way that Nicola prioritised & expedited the purchase of my phones & the earliest possible payment of more money than I’d seen landing together all at once & in one go in my Bank Account for quite some time!!!

This is the second time I’ve used this company can’t fault them in any way . I always pay for next day delivery so I know the company definitely gets my phone . And the same day they receive it my money goes straight into my bank with no quibble . Highly recommend so much easier that been mucked around on Facebook etc

I sent my iPhone 15 Pro Max to this company after being quoted £510. As soon as they received it, the offer mysteriously dropped to £400. The phone was in immaculate condition apart from a small scratch on the camera frame — something Apple themselves inspected and confirmed had zero impact on the lenses, picture quality or zoom.

Their second excuse was a supposed scratch on the screen. That simply wasn’t there when I sent it. The phone had a screen protector on for its entire life, and I even filmed the device before shipping it to document its condition.

When I declined their revised offer, the communication stopped. I had to chase them by phone, only to hear the same canned script other customers have reported. They claim to have CCTV of the unboxing, yet I’m now fully expecting them to return the phone with a scratch that wasn’t mine — and I’ll likely be charged for the privilege.

In my view, this company operates in a way that feels anything but trustworthy. I’d strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. There are far better, more reputable options.

Reading the reviews, there seems to be a pattern of high offer followed by a rejection, low revised price which is then haggled up. £510.50 offered for iPhone 15 Pro Max. Low ball revised offer in the lower £300’s. Settled on £450 as refused to go lower than the highest price offered on Compare and Recycle website. The process was annoyingly frustrating and time consuming. Despite this, we got to a price which was mutually agreeable. Customer Service lady (Fazeela I think), was polite and respectable to talk to. They are obviously well trained but my advice to another in the situation where you’ve got a revised offer, keep at it and keep going until you are happy.

Scam. Offer a highly inflated price to get you to send your phone. Once received they offer a woolly reason why your phone they cannot pay you the quote offered (mine had been charged too many times!) - not sure what is expected from a used phone. They then offer a far lower quote - from £300 to £100 and gradually increase this in the hope that you accept to avoid the hassle of having to sell your phone elsewhere.

I chose PhoneBox based purely on two things; 1. the Trustpilot score and 2. the price offered for my phone. (Which there was similar quotes) Unfortunately, I was low balled by £110 less than the original valuation.

From reading Trustpilot reviews in detail this is clearly their strategy. Despite dealing with a polite young lady, I was offered and agreed a revised offer. Life’s too short to be messing about. Payment received within the day which was a positive.

Sent an Iphone 14 pro max 2 yrs old, quote for good was £393.50 and no option with them for poor condition, The phone was not in poor condition but not perfect either so did expect it to be reduced. Other companies quoted poor condition £290. 1st requote came in at £195 rejected, 2nd requote £225, 3rd requote was a phone call offering £255. I settled at £275. Just be aware that looks like never get anywhere near quotes from compare & recycle.

Sent mine off to them in immaculate condition. Then they came back saying the screen was broken, battery was crap and the microphone wasn’t working! Bull!! Asked for my phone back and was completely ignored! I STILL haven’t had it back , they won’t answer emails and won’t answer the phone. Thieves

Only took 2 days start to finish. They emailed me at each stage. Really smooth process.

Poor experience. will not be using this company again . Sent my iphone 14 plus which was in immaculate condition . Then received an email claiming to have faults with phone i.e light scratches around phone, over 500 battery charges , ambient light sensor fault . This was all news to me . Initial offer was greatly reduced . They did come back with 2 further offers which was way below the initial agreed price . Will take my business elsewhere in the future .

Sent off an iPhone 13 with an estimated price of £185.

I sent the phone myself via DPD as wanted it insured, item arrived safe and within a few hours I received an email saying there were some imperfections such as:

Marked screen
500+ cycle battery count
Issues with speaker

What followed was an offer of £80, to which i selected decline. I was then sent another email stating a further offer will be sent or steps on how to return.

A few hours later and another offer, this time £100. Again, I refused and had the same email as previous. After a few hours I received a call from them directly to discuss my price and steps on how to proceed.

I stated I would not accept their offer of £100 and that unless they can improve it by a good margin then to return it.

After them trying to explain all the issues and saying the original price given is just a "guide" they went away and spoke to their warehouse.

After 5 minutes on hold they came back to say they had a "spare" battery from another phone to put in this one and that the original marks on screen were not as bad as thought but still needed attention so on that basis they can now offer £140.

I was selling this phone on behalf of someone else and they were happy with the £140 so it was accepted and the funds hit our bank account the same day.

Overall, I wouldn't say I was happy or not happy with the service but I would point out that offering £80 and then a few hours later £140 doesn't sit right with me and for that reason I wouldn't use again.

I would proceed with caution then using this company, although it seems that most companies in this industry use the same tactics and prey on the weak.
