My renewal price increase came as a shock, but after phone calls and a email no joy but a follow up email from Petguard saved the day so there for nearly top marks.
I just hope I don’t have the same problems with my next two renewals this month (August).

I have pet insurance as a back up in case my dog has to have vet attention ,as my previous dog had, and so far have been fortunate enough not to require using the option. On saying that dealing with the company has been easy from initial quote to the present with renewal notice and the continuation of the policy. In all honesty I cannot say anything further.

I am very disappointed that my dog has only just turned one years old and my premium has doubled from £400 a year to over £800 and the excess has increased to £150. I am quite upset by this as I am unable to change insurance companies as am now tied with this one. Shocking increase in premium.

Easy and clear website to use. Very competitive quote.

I forgot to change debit card details on expiry of card. Was made aware of the situation but still held covered. Very courteously dealt with.

I asked for my policy documents to be sent in the post because I had no printing facilities at the time of buying the policy. I am still waiting. Has to be well over a month now. Not impressed, though the guyI spoke to organising the policy was helpful.

A very helpful pet insurance company if you wish to talk to someone, otherwise
an easy website to negotiate. Finally, the yearly premium stays a sensible
amount it seems to me.

I got a policy which covers for hopefully everything I need for my working therapy dog. It was a good price. I’ve not needed to make a claim but so far so good.

Responds time is slow

Our dog is a rescue from another country and does not have full medical history prior to being rescued. They have obtained his current medical history (after adoption), but insist on obtaining his previous history.

This has been on going for 2 months now. Once/if this gets resolved we will be changing pet insurance companies.

How can you review pet insurance untill you have to claim ?
You hope you have chosen the correct company to give you piece of mind and value for money.!!!!!

The only problem I had was could not do online apparently more security questions required. When I phoned the agent was really helpful and finished application over phone.

Helpful and easy to cover our breed of dog when other insurers refused to cover us!

My 8yr old labrador needed a small lump removed as it was too small for biopsy. We then needed extended histology as it was malignant.
Petguard responded promptly and proffessionally settling the claim directly with the Vets, which made the process much more straight forward, for whch, many thanks.

Great product at a very competitive price

Very good prompt service. I made a claim 3 years ago and the staff were very helpful and paid my vets bill promptly.

I was contacted well in advance of my renewal which went through without a hitch. Happily I have not needed to use the service, so feel I cannot comment further, but it is reassuring to know that Petguard is there should we need it.

Absolutely brilliant company, always very helpful and caring staff.
