Excellent service
I used the Pension tracing Service earlier in the year as I knew I had a couple of pensions I had lost track of. It took a while for them to conduct all the necessary searches, but when she had completed this necessary step Felicity was absolutely amazing. She kept me up to date every step of the way and was so helpful, cheerful and positive, she is a credit to the company - thank you Felicity!!

Do not use - Particuarly if you have worked in the public sector
I submitted tracing requests on the 1st of September 2025, on the 18th of December 2025 I decided to call the company as I had not heard anything from them. It wasn't until I spoke to an advisor that I was told 3 out of the 4 traces were with third parties and the pension tracing service could not deal with third parties (which isn't clearly advertised on their website) so if you worked in the public sector my advice is don't use this service. The 4 trace came back with 'No Results'
If I hadn't called I wouldn't have known that the pension tracing service had come back with zero results.
It was disappointing that the customer service advisor seemed to be reading from a script and it didn't feel particuarly helpful being told the results were on the web portal, particularly when the last email from them said 'We will be in touch'
If this is company is government backed, they need to review their service level agreement with the Pension Tracing Service, as, in my opinion they do very little to help

Your trace remained open while we pursued a final response from a workplace pension provider linked to your employment history. The delay occurred because we were awaiting a response from this provider, despite follow-ups. Unfortunately, responses from some public-sector providers can take longer than expected, which can impact our usual completion timeframe.
For clarity, there are a small number of public-sector pension providers that historically do not respond to third-party tracing requests. In these cases, we do not submit enquiries directly, as experience shows they will not provide information. Instead, we include their contact details within the final trace results so individuals can approach them directly. This information would have been shared once the trace was closed.
While your trace was still open, we continued to pursue the final outstanding response rather than closing it prematurely. We appreciate, however, that this meant you were waiting longer for clarity, and we are sorry that this was not communicated more clearly at the time.
We are taking your feedback on board and will be amending our process so that, at the outset of a trace, we clearly indicate any providers that are known to be non-responsive to third parties and provide their contact details immediately. At the same time, we will continue to actively reach out to providers that do respond. There are only a handful of providers that fall into this category, and while this is outside of our control, how and when we share this information is something we can improve.
We are also sorry that your interaction with our call handler did not feel as helpful or personal as it should have been. Our staff are genuine people who aim to be supportive and clear, and we have historically received very positive feedback. That said, we will review this experience internally to understand where communication could have been improved.
We would also like to clarify that while our pension tracing service is provided at no charge, it is not a government service. This is clearly stated on our website, in our FAQs, and via an on-screen message that must be acknowledged before a trace can be submitted. Our service operates independently and predates the government’s Pension Tracing Service.

I went through The Pension Tracing Service, not sure what other pensions I had (if any), and the service was incredible the whole way through.
Very friendly staff to answer any questions I had, and found multiple of my lost pension schemes. Even offered me help consolidating these into one.
Would 100% recommend this to friends and family!

Is this a scam? No customer service.
I tried to fill in form online but its saying my phone number is incorrect... which it is not.
Am worried this is a scam and do not want to give all my details on email.
I am not sure where to go from here and trust who they are.

As we do not charge for our pension tracing service, we can be in high demand at peak times. If all our team were assisting other callers, you may have been encouraged to call back or email us — which we’re glad you did.
We’re keen to investigate why your number wasn’t recognised — not only to resolve it for you, but also to ensure there isn’t a wider issue affecting others. We haven’t heard this from any other users, so hopefully it’s an isolated case. In the rare situations we’ve seen something similar, it has usually been due to an international dialling code or a space before the first digit being entered.
If you can please get back in touch, we’d really appreciate the chance to look into this and resolve it for you, so you can receive a service more in line with what your friend experienced.

Cannot fault them
Cannot fault them! Filled out a form with very vague details on it but they managed to locate 3 lost pensions for me. They then offered a retirement plan which I took up (after receiving independent financial advice to check it) and in the space of just a few months it grew by around £3k. I turned 55 earlier this month and within a week all the funds were in my account. Excellent communication throughout. Thanks guys! 👏

Waste of time
Bizarre experience. I was led to believe that the service would search for previous pensions I have held, and send me information about them, but instead, I just received a weird, generic letter saying 'No. That pension has already been transferred', and a letter from HMRC confirming that I have not been opted out of SERPS (I never for a moment believed that I had). It seems to be advertising itself as one thing, when it is in fact another. So basically they have just confirmed a bunch of stuff I already knew, and failed to find the information I was looking for. A complete waste of everyone's time.

The Pension Tracing Service exceeded my expectations. They found my SERPS and uncovered four pensions for me. They helped consolidate three of them into a single account, which has saved me money on fees and made it easier to manage. My dedicated account manager kept me informed throughout the process and gave me ample time to make decisions. Their efficiency and support have been outstanding. Highly recommend their service!

Brilliant and professional service, thank you…
What a breeze it was to use the pension tracing service. I will be honest I hadn't got a clue where to start tracing my old pensions, some aren't even trading anymore and as I'm getting closer to retirement it's a bit daunting to deal with on your own.
It was the best decision I made to get help from these guys as they took all the hassle out of it for me and I now have them combined in one pension where it can work for me in my final few years.

Is this a legitimate company?
I'm also concerned if this company is legitimate. I received a form through the post after filling in a few details on line. The form asked for my national insurance number and signature. I wanted to be sure so rang the number at the top of the letter 0800 122 3170 but it wasn't in service. I find it quite odd that a professional and legitimate company wouldn't have a working contact number and you have no profile on trust pilot. I'm worried that I've given my details to online fraudsters.

My wife contacted this firm in error when looking for the gov.uk's pension tracing service. She filled in information and t wasn't until she got to the end of the questions and they asked for payment that she realised she had been misled.

If you click on the page link you will also clearly see front and centre our disclaimer that states we are not the government service and we in fact were running before this. There is also a pop up that states the same that has to be ticked before you proceed to the trace.
Please could you check that you have the correct service? We would not want to create any confusion for people who require our help with tracing their pensions.
