BEWARE OF UNEXPECTED SUBSCRIPTION CHARGES!

I used PDFHint on October 13, 2026, and paid $1 for what I understood to be a one-time PDF document purchase.

Not only was I unable to successfully download or open the document I paid for, but seven days later, the company attempted to charge my card $49.95 for a recurring membership I had no intention of purchasing.

Apparently, that $1 purchase enrolled me in a subscription with recurring billing.

I have since canceled the membership and formally disputed the attempted charge.

My biggest concern is how easily consumers, especially elderly individuals or those unfamiliar with online subscriptions, could overlook these charges.

A $1 document purchase should not leave customers surprised by a $49.95 recurring membership.

My advice: Be extremely cautious when using this service. Read every billing disclosure, check your statements, and make sure you understand exactly what you're agreeing to before entering your payment information.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend PDFHint.

Misleading. The website claims to allow free PDF editing. However, after you’ve made your edits (and wasted your time), you are required to create an account—which is fair enough—but then you are also forced to sign up for a paid one-week trial. In short, you cannot download your work without paying, not even a single file. (Many similar sites require payment for editing large documents, but still allow users to download one or two files for free each day.)

Dishonest.

I agreed to save and download a pdf for £1. Upon doing so it seems like they signed me up for a £49.95 monthly subscription.

No confirmation emails were sent and I only realised when PayPal contacted me about money going out of my account.

I absolutely despise companies that do this. It's unbelievably dishonest.

This company promises a PDF converting for $1. They are scammers and liars and basically built a website that does nothing except have a bunch of icons and gadgets. THEY WILL NOT TURN YOUR PDF Doc into a word or text file that you can download to your computer. Issac. You are a liar. You touch my credit card again, God help you.

PDF Hint explicitly advertises "Edit PDF Online Free" and "No installs, no signup walls. Just upload, edit, and download."

You will be forced to create an account just to download it.

That's literally a signup wall, despite their explicit claim that there isn't one.
