Poor

Poor. From start to finish an experience i’d like to forget. Choose very carefully when looking at a childcare provision for your child. Avoid Partou. Management is poor. Policy and Procedure is poor. Overall care provision is poor. Read Ofsted as nothing predicts behaviour like behaviour. Poor communication.

Be VERY CAUTIOUS before choosing Partou

*** Be VERY CAUTIOUS before choosing this nursery!! My daughter's nursery place was cancelled with one month's notice despite being confirmed for over a year. ***

We started looking for nursery places for our daughter in January 2025 for her to start in March 2026. We did this before she was born because we are aware how difficult it can be to find a nursery place in our local area. After viewing many nurseries, we chose Roundhay Day nursery and paid the deposit in early Feb 2025 to secure her place.

On 3rd Feb 2026 my partner received an email from Partou with a form for us to fill in for a refund of our deposit. We replied to the email asking what the reason for the refund was, but received no response. I also called the nursery immediately, as I was worried this meant they were cancelling my daughter's place, and they advised they couldn't help me and I needed to contact the family care team. When I asked for the telephone number for this service, they gave me with a number that did not exist.

Later in the day I received a voice message from the family care team asking me to call them on a different number to the one previously provided. My partner and I collectively rang this number over 40 times between us over 3 days and never got through to a person. Our emails, voicemails and web form messages were also ignored. We contacted the nursery directly again for help and they said they would forward an email to the family care team for us.

Eventually, after 3 days of trying to contact them, my partner rang them repeatedly and we FINALLY got a call back asking why we had tried to call them. It was only when we provided our names that they then informed us they would no longer be offering our daughter a place at the nursery. When I asked if she could be offered a place at other Partou nurseries in the area, I was advised I would get a call back regarding this, but no call ever came. The lady I spoke to on the phone was also incredibly unhelpful and just seemed to be reading from a script, and didn't even offer an apology that my daughter now has no childcare provision for when I had planned to return to work next month. The reason cited was that they had taken on more children than there were staff so the ratios would be off and implied I was crazy to expect they have the correct amount of staff because "it is well known there are staffing issues in early years."

As a result, we are now scrambling as to what to do next. I am not sure if I will be able to return to work next month as planned, as unfortunately we don't have many family members or friends nearby who are able to support us with childcare to bridge the gap. This has had devastating consequences for our family - and not just financially.

I was mainly astounded at the poor levels of communication from Partou, who made little to no effort to contact us about this issue. Had we not tried to call them so many times, I still would not know that my daughter doesn't have a nursery place. I am absolutely disgusted, and have been advised by other parents to report them to Ofsted and the local council - something that I plan to do.

If you are able to get your child a place at any other nursery, I would recommend you do so.

Worst experience I ever had

We been accepted to one of the nurseries they own. And from the very beginning I had lot of problems communicating with them. As a first time mom I had lots of questions, which wasn't answered on time or at all, simply because I couldn't get hold on them. I need it to call constantly non stop in hope that someone will pick up eventually. No replies to emails or voicemail either. But because we really liked the actual nursery I was willing to give it a shot and still try.
Eventually I got an email just before Christmas that my daughter can't even start the nursery do to staff shortages.. she supposed to start in January..
Now I think I got lucky there. We found a different nursery. The help from them was enormous with every question and problem I had in the beginning and we are very happy.
But yeah, based on my short and frustrating experience with them I wouldn't recommend dealing with this company.

My personal experience working as a chef at a Partou nursery …

My personal experience working as a chef at a Partou nursery (UK, 2025) was extremely difficult.

From the start, there was a strong focus on meeting a tight budget. I was expected to follow a set menu, yet key ingredients were repeatedly missing from my weekly orders, making it hard to deliver what was planned. On some occasions, I purchased snacks myself to ensure the children had what they needed.

I also experienced an unhealthy workplace culture, including gossip and backstabbing among staff. One comment from the General Manager about staff “talking Chinese” made me uncomfortable and I found it inappropriate.

When I raised concerns formally—emailing HR and requesting meetings with HR and the GM—I did not feel heard or supported. Instead, I was placed under disciplinary investigation for allegedly not following policies. Under these circumstances, I resigned with immediate effect, as the environment felt hostile and unsupported.

I hope the company improves ordering processes, promotes a respectful culture, and properly supports staff who raise concerns.

Profits before Care

This firm is more interested in profit than childcare. I have contacted this firm several times over the past twelve months regarding several issues and all have been ignored, not answered or not taken seriously. I'm sure the staff at the individual nurseries do their best and are really dedicated, but the management in their head office are a waste of space. I wouldn't trust my children with them. Another faceless profit making corporate.

Don’t send your child to a Partou nursery

The Partou nursery in Hucclecote was asked to complete some paperwork for a child’s EHCP but despite phone calls and emails, they failed to complete the task.
Extra hours were requested for a child but instead were given to other children who were “easier” to look after. They failed miserably on their statutory responsibilities.
Don’t send your child to this nursery as they fail in their duties and obligations.
This is why they have been reported to Ofsted and are being investigated.

Thank-you for your reply. There is no point in talking to you as you won’t be able to help our situation unless you complete the paperwork for the EHCP which you failed to complete when asked to do so.

Are you now saying that you would like to do the paperwork some 7 months after being asked to do so?

I want to share my experience…

I want to share my experience registering my second child with Partou (Little Stars in Hadfield), because while I am extremely happy with the nursery team — Holly, Sarah, and all the staff, who have been nothing but supportive, caring, and genuinely brilliant with my eldest — the experience with Partou’s head office has been incredibly disappointing and frustrating from start to finish.

To be clear: my frustrations are entirely with the central Partou headquarters, not with the local nursery team. In fact, the only reason I’m fighting this hard is because I want my second child to attend the same wonderful nursery. The onsite team is excellent. Sadly, the same cannot be said for the management above them.

I put my child on the waiting list in February 2025 for a start date in April 2026 — before my baby even had a name (he was born in July 2025) — because I was told that registering early would give us a better chance of securing the days we needed.

Despite planning more than a year in advance, and despite already having a child at the same nursery, I’ve now been told that the days I originally requested aren’t available, and in fact there aren’t even enough days overall to meet our needs. After all this time, the best the central team can offer is a scattered set of days that don’t match what we asked for, which is simply unworkable.

What makes this even worse is the unacceptable communication.

It took more than six weeks for the nursery (who, again, were as helpful as they possibly could be) to get any clarity from the Family Care team at headquarters.

And once the central Partou team finally became involved, it still took an additional three weeks just to receive a reply.

For a childcare provider that families depend on, these delays are shocking. Parents organise work schedules, budgets, and long-term plans around promised childcare availability. To be left waiting this long — only to then be told we don’t have the availability we were led to believe we’d likely get — is incredibly frustrating and feels deeply inconsiderate.

Overall, my experience with Partou’s headquarters has been disorganised, stressful, and far below basic expectations. I would strongly urge other parents to be cautious when relying on any assurances from the central Partou team, particularly around availability and communication.

Again, I want to emphasise: the nursery team themselves are fantastic — it’s the central management that has let us down.

Partou Fern Bank = Amazing!

We couldn't be happier with Partou Fern Bank! The staff are incredibly caring and the management is top-notch. My baby loves going to nursery every day. The nursery itself is spacious and well-equipped, and we're impressed by their commitment to inclusivity and celebrating diversity. Angels At Play was better before Partou

Angels at play was an INCREDIBLE place before Partou took over. Now everyone seems overworked, stressed out, and the children feel like a revenue stream, whereas before the love and care was undeniable. The people are still amazing, but Partou has turned a great nursery into a place we can’t wait to be out of.

Aweful...
Since Partou has taken over the nursery last year, it has been a nightmare with the prices, and invoices since then. Not one month is correct. They increase their prices as they are pleased, they decided to add drop off and collection fees, from 7.30am and after 6.00pm, when it was included in the price. I feel sorry for the staff, they are lovely, professional and committed to the growth of my child, always welcoming and supportive but Partou IS NOT. They do not care about any of our concerns, or our children, they only care about money.
Just because of that lovely staff, i do not want to remove my child, she loves them and is very happy at the nursery, because if it was for them I would not let her 1 day. They should be grateful to the staff as I assume a lot of parents are in the same position.

Utter disappointment

We have been very happy with our nursery until it has been taken over by Partou group.
While the nursery itself has some excellent staff who genuinely care for the children, the general management has become increasingly disappointing. Over the past year and a half, there’s been a clear shift toward a more impersonal, business-like and profit driven approach that makes parents feel more like customers than partners in their child’s care.
Communication from management is often generic and unempathetic, with little effort made to address individual situations or provide meaningful explanations when issues arise. Decisions seem to be made behind closed doors, and parents are simply informed afterward — sometimes with minimal notice.
The frequent and steep price increases is particularly frustrating. Prices continue to rise sharply, yet there’s no visible improvement in facilities, resources, or overall service. When asked for clarification, responses feel rehearsed and vague rather than transparent.
It’s a real shame, because the nursery’s day-to-day staff are lovely and work hard, but poor management decisions are eroding trust and goodwill.
We cannot express our utter disappointment enough !

Awful company - terrible for children

Awful company to deal with. Providing a terrible level of care to children.

Our nursery has regretfully been taken over by partou around 18 months ago. And things have just got worse and worse in terms of care. Every 4 months they put prices up but remove things from the nursery to make things cheaper.

All the experienced members of staff have moved on in the period since they took over. Can’t be a coincidence, so assuming that they are just as bad with staff as they are with children. Replaced them with staff learning on the job.

All the charm and good from the nursery has been taken away by Partou. They’ve taken over every nursery in our area recently.

Great nursery staff … terrible money grabbing parent company

We love the Nursery that our children attended. That was however until Partou took over. The actual nursery staff have continued to be amazing and I have to say this is the only reason we have stayed. The parent company (Partou) have increased prices extortionately to the extent that when the extra 15 hours free kicked in it made £30 difference. This is because Partou decided to make all the nursery’s that it owns have the same pricing structure. Meaning we now have to pay £7+ per day to have our child in between 7:00 and 8:00 which was originally included in the price as well as a price increase for normal fees then trying to dress it up saying that it gives more flexibility and it will benefit people.
A lot of NHS workers used this nursery because it was the only one that you could drop your children off at 7:00 (most only open at 07:30). It was always a bit more expensive but that was ok. Now it feels like an attack on NHS staff who desperately need that extra 30 minutes to be able to drop their children off at nursery and still be able to get to work for the 8:00 shift changes.

Understaffed and lacking

Since taking over the nursery my child attends there has been a mass exodus of full time staff. They remain understaffed and menu changes have meant that many children are not eating enough during the day. In addition, while claiming to be a forest school they have had no sessions since Nov 24 with no consistent or reasonable explanation as to why. Email enquiries to management go unanswered and children are often left only eating a cracker for lunch because of the radical menu change.

Children also very upset that they no longer get to attend their forest school sessions and no one understands why.

My child loves it otherwise and has only a few months left before starting school so I’m reluctant to move them. The staff that have remained are obviously very caring and responsible but they are working within a system which is not operating properly and needs a great deal more attention from Partou policy makers and managers.

Inconsiderate company

This company have recently taken over a school next to our property and I can honestly say they don't care about the impact a school has on a neighbourhood. We have to suffer from a large number of vehicles entering and exiting the school, litter, congestion at peak times and our driveway blocked by inconsiderate parents. Worst of all, the school has really bright LED floodlights shining into our home and surrounding homes. It would be nice if Partou considered the impact a school has on a neighbourhood. Why can't you call on the affected residents and ask if they have any issues and if anything can be done to improve relations.??

We do have to follow health and safety and these lights are for the safety of children, families and staff. Since you have brought this to our attention we ha ve installed a timer which have the lights on 5pm to 7pm only, and we have adjusted them to point down as much as possible.

Non existent open day.

Booked a open day session. Arrived, place empty. Attempted to rebook. No response and to add insult to the waste of time attending a non-existent booking. Generic email asking us how the open day went.

Very poor.
