I just completed the assembly of a 12x4 slider shed. The cedar smells great!

I would like to point out some errors in the assembly manual and suggest some possible improvements.

1. The manual that was emailed to me upon purchase, and that was included in the shipment, was out-of-date. For example, it excluded certain steps such as the door roller assembly.

2. In step 4 of the floor base assembly, the instructions mention being careful not to twist or bend the assembly. I suggest that you check the corners with a square, or that the diagonals of the assembly be measured corner-to-corner and ensured equal to check for square. This is critical if laying the shed on a gravel base, as I did.

3. In step 12, the screws holding the side panel to the rear panel should be shown going towards the left, not towards the back as indicated in the manual.

4. In step 29, the manual mentions “screw into rafters from inside of header on an angle at front of shed.” The aluminium support strip along the front of the shed makes this impossible. Instead, I screwed from the top of the rafter.

5. In step 47, the manual mentions “3/8” Gap between Track and Door Header.” I found 3/8” is too tight, and causes the door to rub against the siding. ¼” worked better.

6. In step 48, the roller assembly bags included 1 extra nut per roller that is not used, according to the instructions. This caused me some confusion. Also, the instructions mention “Twist Roller Cart onto bolt”: the roller cannot be twisted too deep onto the bolt because then the bolt rubs against the top interior of the track. This causes the door to hang lower than desired and limits the ability to straighten the doors. I managed to get it to work with some struggling.

7. In step 52, the manual that was sent to me specified that the interior door flange should be positioned ¾” from the top of the door. In this case, the flange would extend below the floor, and not work. I see that this was corrected in the online manual.

8. In step 62, the manual specifies to put a large amount of caulk in the gap between the window and the siding. However, the siding at the front of the slider shed is flat, so the window flange sits flush against the siding – there is no gap to accept any caulking.

9. The dado on the window trim is too deep for the slider shed since the window sits flush against the flat siding (see comment 8 above). This means that the window trim sits at an awkward angle, and/or results in large gaps. The dado depth should be reduced or eliminated for the flat siding of this shed.

10. As an option, I recommend countersinking the trim nails and filling with an exterior wood putty. The result looks much better.

11. The door clasp that was included was too wide for the shed doors, and cannot be mounted on the door trim. A narrower clasp is required. I purchased one at Home Depot. I received no response from OLT customer service on this point.

12. The interior door header in step 23 was missing from my kit. I purchased some 2x4 pressure treated lumber at Home Depot to fix this. I received no response from OLT customer service on this point.

13. The manual should specify a setback requirement from walls or fences. I recall some of the OLT marketing material, advertising this shed as a space saver by placing it against a wall. However, sufficient space between the shed and the wall must be allowed to accommodate the extension of the roof eaves. I didn’t realize this when I started to build the shed (maybe that was stupid on my part). Luckily, I spaced the shed far enough from the wall to allow for the eaves, but this was pure luck. Imagine building the shed and then getting to the point of the rafter installation, only to realize that it won’t fit! This would be a disaster, especially if a concrete slab had been poured. Also, if the shed is placed against a wall, this makes it impossible to install the rear trim and fascia. Luckily, my “wall” was actually a fence. Thus, I was able to remove some fence boards on my neighbor’s side, in order to access the rear of the shed and install the trim.

Overall, I am very pleased with the shed.

By the way, the shed smells great (did I mention that already?).

The garden storage shed we ordered was just what we needed. We were very impressed with the customer service, the delivery arrangements and the quality of the kit itself. A person with a moderate amount of experience with tools should be able to construct this shed - we had no problems and the instructions are extremely detailed and helpful. Overall, we are very happy - thank you, Canada!

Purchased through Costco. Arrived promptly, took half a the day to assemble (I used a nail gun so it was quicker than it would have been). I did also stain all the pieces FIRST to ensure I didn't miss any cracks or miss hard to reach places. We’ve had it for about 4 months now and it’s been great to store yard items. Would purchase again.
Only critic is some of the base board pieces didn’t line up and we have over lap that isn’t as clean as other sides. 2 boards were about 1-2 inches too long.

well made storage shed; easy to assemble. Received two left doors on our first of two purchase; and without question, a replacement (right) door was provided. Very attractive design and our friends plan to purchase the same after seeing ours

I ordered this shed through Costco and it was shipped within a week. I received an email and phone call from the company to verify the shipping address (I live on an acreage) and assembly instructions.

It probably took two of us, adults with some experience, a few weeks to set up the shed. This is because we used a different foundation than recommended, and because we often just put a few hours a day into working on it.

The instructions for assembling the shed were clear and parts were clearly labelled. The shed doesn't leak, but after heavy rains water tends to seep through the wood. Because we want to use the shed as a workspace with electric tools, we will insulate/waterproof with spray foam and then install pine tongue-and-groove pine panels to better weather-proof the shed.

I've posted a few photos of the shed and have received a lot of complements. I've also had family members want to stay overnight in the sunshed as a tiny guest house!

We ordered a raised garden bed kit and it arrived exactly when promised. Upon construction, there was one piece missing. We contacted customer service and OLT had the piece shipped promptly. The best part of our experience was the constant communication with OLT. Excellent customer service and follow up.

I have a Pergola With Retractable Canopy | 12×20, which is very nice. But a heavy rainstorm bent two of the aluminum canopy poles, as the canopy was loose the the water collected on it. I contacted OLT for two replacements. After a month, I got a quote of $100 for the 2 poles plus $250 for shipping. Expensive, but I agreed, gave my credit card number, and received a sales order confirmation. That was Feb 10, 2019. Now, on July 10 the poles still have not been shipped.

Update on July 25, 2019: The owner of the company called me up and sincerely apologized. He also immediately sent me more than what I need at a large discount. I appreciated that. I think I somehow fell through the cracks, and that is not how they normally do business.

Ordering was easy followed by phone call detailing delivery.

Great instructions, everything needed was provided. Growing some nice veggies, and the deer have not had a salad bar due to the deer fence option!

OLT provides a quality product for the price. This is the second shed that I have purchased from OLT. The only reason why I purchased another shed it due to the need to downsize from what I had before.I had needed to have the first shed removes so that I could have a new patio and fence installed. Since I have a very small yard in the city and the new fence configuration required a much smaller shed, I decided to purchase from OLT since the sheds by the other competitors did not meet my expectations for a garden shed.

Everyting was as ordered . Instrustion where easy to follow. Every one that visits love it. I made it as a fort for my boys.

This raised garden was exactly what my wife wanted. Delivery was quick. The assembly instructions were right on and very easy to understand. If you follow them and not assume you know what the next step is, it will come out perfect (like mine did). Special kudos for providing extra screws and even the screw driver bit. After I made the order, someone from OLT called and spoke with me to ensure I understood about how the delivery would be done. Awesome customer service.

We are so pleased...first the delivery was great! And the packing of the pallet, so efficient and well done! We would order from this company again, in a heartbeat, and plan to do so.
The directions were thorough and we found only a couple of discrepancies, but were able to figure them out ourselves.

Excellent product. The Sunshed is well designed. There were some extra parts. So the installation went smoothly.
