The event itself was really fun, had a great time, the atmosphere was pretty good. Tho feel like the need to do something about how loud music needs to be or where it should be playing from. Not to mention, sort out the amount of women that come or didn’t. They were all really nice and kind, just the was a lack of them. The guys were broken into two groups so everyone in the groups got a moment with each other the 8 women who attended

Issue#1: Cancellation of event - I was originally attending the 21st March session but that got cancelled.
Issue#2: Booked for 5th April but the venue they provided WAS ALREADY CLOSED and they didn't even bother checking prior.. I messaged them the day before to tell them that the venue was already closed.. Last minute change of venue may have caused some attendees to miss their email.. there were only a few attendees on the actual day.. I guess some of them did not get the last minute venue change email.
Issue#3: ratio between male/female was disappointing, probably caused by the last minute venue change
Issue#4: Mixeo subscription is pretty useless.. unfortunately you cannot pick and just have to wait for their algorithm to send you potential matches - NOT WORTH IT, DO NOT SUBSCRIBE. I WASTED MY MONEY ON THE 6-MONTH SUBSCRIPTION.
Issue#5: I have been trying to delete my profile in Mixeo.. apparently you can only 'cancel' your subscription and leave mixeo.. can't find anything on fully deleting your profile (and your personal data altogether).. hence I just removed (replaced with character) any personally identifiable info such as my name and photo.

I always enjoy the original dating events, they are so much fun and you always meet new people which is the best part of it. Its such a friendly and welcoming crowd with such a great venue at the Crown St Albans.

Absolute shamble of an organisation. Paid almost £90 in total to this company and attended their event and it was complete chaos. Asked for a refund and they have not even responded. I felt very unsafe and all they did at the event was to keep on apologising.

In fact I will contact the Competition and Markets Authority and other Authorities regarding this. Look at the reviews, you're taking advantage of people trying to find love. If you do not provide me with a refund, you might have a legal challenge on your hand.

Er where do I start basically scummy attitude from the the owner which I will definitely not put up with or tolerate on their feed back towards me who do they think they are seriously no care just horrible people 😡😡 I think the whole company is a scam with scam men 👎 I get matches sent through daily not least one man talks to me none of them message me or say hi only one a few weeks who was a complete horrible wrongen no good dateing experience just full of horrible people. The owner of oringal dateing has a stinking attitude towards me replying to my review in a harsh manner when I was in tears on one of the events .
I would say to owner quit with your sticking attitude because I won't put up with you ✊️😡 and stop treating people like shxt on here

I attended several speed dating and quiz dating events in London with Original Dating this year. Even though I haven't met someone for a long-term relationship yet, I have gone on a few dates and even made some new friends I'm still keeping in touch regularly. As a vegan, I especially enjoy the niche events like Vegan and Vegetarian Speed Dating Event to help me connect to other like-minded people. The quiz dating events are laid-back and always a lot of fun!

Customer service is really poor! I’ve sent a number of emails in relation to a voucher credit, which no one has responded to. There is no in use telephone number to speak to anyone either, so I’m basically left being ignored.

The events are well run and the venues are well chosen. It’s also a good way to meet new people.

I have been to a few Lock and Key parties, but venue wise I found the venue at The Happenstance a little bit too small for the capacity for the event, so it was a little bit hard to manoeuvre through the crowd. Other than that I did have a good time at the event, as it had been a while since I had been to an event.

Well run event, friendly and helpful. organisers. Helen and Darren are a freak team and make everyone comfortable and welcome. Nice new venue, only downside was the bar upstairs not being open but that was the venues choice not original dating.

Really a good night. Meeting lots of interesting people that could become dates or new friends. I totally reccomended it.

Hosts were great and really tried, but overall the event was unpleasant. According to the website there were only a handful of tickets left for each gender with an expectation of around 80 people attended. The first sign it was not going to plan was finding the it had been moved from the ballroom to the much smaller basement bar. There were probably around 6 women and easily triple the number of men. Went outside for a cigarette just before it started and I heard the host saying to security that four of the women were no shows, so still nowhere near the expected amount that the low tickets remaining would suggest. Just led to lots of standing around and guys queueing up to interact with the ladies, just felt kinda horrible to me. I know it can't be helped whether people turn up, but the expectations for the event seemed way oversold and misrepresented.

The event was attended by 13 men and only 6 women so I spent as much time talking to men as I did women. When my ticket was purchased it was advertised as 1 male and 2 female spaces remaining, of the men I spoke to four others said exactly the same was displayed to them. I appreciate that the organisers cannot control attendance however this to me is strong evidence that they are using FOMO/false advertising to sell tickets.
The night is what you make of it and I had a fun social evening. I would attend speed dating again but not with this company as the sales strategy left a bitter taste.

Edit. ‘Likely’ added to title to reflect that this is a hypothesis based on the evidence available to me.
However with regards to making inaccurate statements I will add that despite this review being outwardly anonymous an order reference was provided at time of writing and later resubmitted with additional information at TrustPilots request.
If the content of this review is unfounded then the addition of a simple inventory system to Original Datings website would prove this.

Excellent Host, well structured evening with time at the end to chat with people a bit longer.

It was good but the fact that they do not provide a pen and paper to write on is ridiculous. The host told me to use my phone to write down the names.

I don't think I have ever been to a more depressing event. More men than women (although the event was sold differently), zero engagement from the host, bar of the booked room was closed. Overall a really dreadful experience.
Of course, no full or partial refund has been issued.
