Failure to work + Cancellation failed.

After two days of working with this system, it still failed to post anything to our site, even manually. I cancelled the subscription while on a trial (2 days in). The cancellation failed to process (according to support). We went on a trip, and I failed to see the subscription was renewing AND charging little $2 fees here and there each week.

On 4/9 I spoke to a support rep named "Dimer," who told me there was nothing that could be done, because the cancellation didn't process correctly. They don't process billing, Stripe does, so they can't help. I use stripe every day, and it's actually a very easy refund process, so I'll simply disagree.

These guys are absolute scammers.

Their only response?
"I completely understand your concern. When the account was created, the terms and conditions, including details about the trial and billing, were presented and agreed to. Based on our records, the charges fall within those agreed terms.

That said, we want to assure you that your recent cancellation has been successfully processed, and this will be the final charge. There will be no further billing moving forward."

These scammers will restart your subscription after you cancel it and charge you every month until you realize it. Contacted support who said they could se our cancellation being "cancelled" , and then just ghosting us.

What ever you do, don't agree to ever giving these guys your money or credit card details...

Opinly ai is a total scam

Horrible, Scam, fraud. Stay away not even do a trial once you hook your credit card they will keep charging you even if you canceled the horrible service. I mad the mistake of signing up for trial and when I didn’t like it reached out I tried to cancel then they offered an extended trial for few more days and I STILL CANCELED BEFFOE THE TRIAL ENDS to be surprised they charged my card before even the trial ends, with many back and forth I go them to refund me and at the same moment sent them screenshot with subscription cancellation, think it’s done, no, the month after I get charged for a cancelled subscription, no support or no answer why and how it happened. Total scam business. Cancellation was made in the platform on Feb 28, 2026 with a screenshot shared with them via email confirming that the subscription was canceled and yet got charged again on March 28th, 2026

Doesn't work and no way to cancel

Seemed like an awesome way to build website content. I signed up for a trial but couldn't get it to connect with my wordpress site. I contacted customer support and asked to cancel. No response. I followed the "bot" instructions to cancel; the "cancel trial" button was missing. I received an email from "David" wanting to "jump on a call" to learn more. I asked him to cancel my subscription. No response. Today they tried to hit my card for $500+. Luckily I use "ENO" from Cap One so the transaction was declined. STAY AWAY!!

I’ve been using Opinly for several…

I’ve been using Opinly for several months now. The thing I like most is that it automates content writing and backlink processes, which has saved me a lot of time. Previously, these tasks would take days, but now the platform handles much of it on its own.
Following their recommendations, I started publishing 1–2 high-quality articles per week. As a result, after a few weeks, I noticed improvements in my Google visibility for some keywords. So far, I haven’t encountered any serious issues myself, but after seeing others mention problems related to billing and subscriptions, I’m using it cautiously. Overall, the platform has been useful for me.

Poor (no) customer service

Poor (no) customer service, no replies at all to any contact. Even the chat bot is not working. No performance within 2 days free trial period. Immediate charge of yearly fee after trial period. The generated articles are repeating and repeating. Stopped using it after 9 articles which caused too much workload in editing. Now using other tools. Sad to lose much money. I feel scammed. Hope the cancellation is working after March-11, 2027, without any more trouble.

NON EXISTING CLIENT SUPPORT

I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience has been extremely frustrating.

I signed up for a trial with Opinly and canceled before the trial ended. Despite that, I was charged $369 on Feb 20. I immediately reached out via their chatbot and directly emailed their team (including David McGuckin), requesting a refund and confirmation of cancellation.

After multiple follow-ups and being told they would “check with the team,” I received no resolution—and then was charged AGAIN on March 20 ($258.30), even after clearly explaining that the cancellation wasn’t working on their end.

At this point:

I’ve been charged multiple times after attempting to cancel

I’ve sent several emails and messages with little to no response

The account still appeared active despite cancellation attempts

This is unacceptable. A billing system that fails to process cancellations and continues charging customers—combined with lack of support response—is a serious issue.

If you’re considering using this service, be cautious and monitor your billing closely.

I hope Opinly addresses this quickly, processes the refunds, and improves their customer support.

I've just located your email and wanted to address everything directly. Regarding the charge on March 20th, it appears that a discount offer was applied to your account rather than the cancellation being processed, which is why the amount was lower than expected.

In relation to your earlier refund requests, as I mentioned in my previous emails to you, those charges had already been disputed through your bank. However, I have gone ahead and refunded the most recent month's charge in full.

I'm genuinely sorry it took this long to reach a resolution. If you have any further questions or need anything else, please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly and I'll make sure it's handled promptly.

Huge scam

Huge scam. Despite my submitting cancellation several times, the site is designed to confused and trapped you in retaining the subscription. That being said, the subscription was indeed cancelled with the screen showing a red box and confirming the cancellation but I was still charged.

Multiple correspondence with the chatbot yields nothing as no one respond or reply or email.

STAY AWAY!!!

Their reply have not been honest at all and is aimed at dodging the issue at hand. Due to the trap as mentioned earlier and by many others, "true" cancellation was done on the 3rd of March (my timezone) which was confirmed on screen by with the red box stating so (that being said - very unethical methods of trap and fine print before true cancellation so do be careful there. Basically you have to cancel several times). I then went to the chatbot and even stated my intention despite my screen showing the confirmation of the cancellation. It is 7th now and there has been no reply whatsoever. I then posted this review before emailing David, the CEO and the support team and subsequently received a reply from the CEO. The reply however, is still aimed at dodging the issue and claiming that I should have received the email confirming the cancellation.

That is not the case at all and I was still charged on the 6th of March. I had to call the bank to cancel the credit card and request for a new card number. That's how bad the experience was and how bad the issue is.

You created your account on 9 October 2025 and subscribed that same day. On 11 January 2026, you actively changed your subscription plan — showing continued, deliberate use of the account. You applied a 30% discount on 3 March 2026.

At no point before today did you cancel. Cancellation is straightforward and can be done in the app at any time, but it was never done. That is simply how subscriptions work: they renew until you cancel them. We have gone ahead and cancelled your subscription from our end and a confirmation email has been automatically sent — you will not be charged again.

Describing a subscription service as a scam because it billed you while you were still subscribed — and after you had changed your plan just two months ago — is not a fair reflection of what happened. You also contacted our support team only a few hours ago; we are not a 24-hour response service, but our team will be in touch.

Ive tried their services on November…

Ive tried their services on November 2025. I cancelled the subscription with them, but they are still charging me till this date. I thought maybe the cancellation didnt work, now when i go to account settings i cant even find the unsubscribe button. Very scummy company and bunch of scammers

Fradulently taking money from my card…

Fradulently taking money from my card for two months, i registered for a free trial, during the first day i cancelled the account in settings.

Then billed for new plan on Feb 5, logged in to contact support and ask for a refund, received no correspondence or reply..... they then re instated my account and on Mar 5 i was charged again.

Still no reply from Opinly via their chat or email, raisded Fraud request with American Express repeatedly and shared these reviews.

As an journalist by trade it might be time to start looking into Opinly and their business practices.

We started using Opinly mainly to…

We started using Opinly mainly to automate parts of our SEO workflow, especially around content generation and backlinks, and it’s ended up saving us a significant amount of hard work. One of the biggest differences for us has been the automation around getting backlinks and producing content we can actually rank for, rather than staring at spreadsheets or juggling multiple tools . We followed their recommendation of publishing around two blogs per week and focusing on high-quality, lower-volume content instead of churning out loads of posts, and we’re now ranking for more keywords than we were previously and seeing steady movement in search visibility. It hasn’t required a huge amount of setup (Kieron , one of the founders helped with this), and once it’s running it feels quite hands-off compared to how we used to do t.

Just to clarify. I have not made any subscription with you!

Even if I have made a subscription, why have you then withdrawn, two amounts every month, the last couple of months, when this also is a scam?

I have no acknowledgement from you, of any subscription and I therefor can’t accept your scam.

So scam scam scam on you. I have made a report on your way of business, to the authorities.

We need to correct several inaccuracies in your updated review.

Our records show that the account was created in 2024 using your details and payment method. The subscription was activated at that time and billed securely via Stripe in line with the agreed terms.

The account also shows login activity across multiple years, including 2024, 2025, and again in 2026, confirming that it was accessed after signup.

There was never any cancellation request, support email, or contact from you regarding this subscription until this week.

Regarding your claim of “two withdrawals per month,” this can occur if a payment initially fails and is retried, if usage limits are exceeded, or if an additional credit pack is purchased. These are standard billing scenarios and do not represent unauthorised or illegal withdrawals.

As soon as you contacted us this week, we immediately cancelled the subscription. The account is now fully deactivated.

There is no scam here. This was an active subscription that remained uncancelled.

We’ve used opinly to identify many keywords that we are now ranking in the top 10 of google across many different Geos, these keywords weren’t being identified by the likes of SEMRush and AHrefs - overall a very good tool to add to your workflow.
