I joined off the tools to help me with systems and nailing down our prices and finances. Since joining, the business has grown and profits are up by around 20%! I joined Off The Tools because I realised that just because you’re a good tradesman, it doesn’t automatically make you a good businessman.

Like many trade business owners, I spent years focusing on doing a good job for customers, but running and growing a successful business requires a completely different set of skills.

Since becoming part of the Alliance, the coaching, accountability and support have helped me look at my business differently. I’ve learned the importance of systems, processes, marketing, customer experience and financial planning rather than simply keeping busy on the tools.

Over the past year we’ve continued to grow Innovative Heating Services, invested heavily in improving our systems and customer journey, expanded our showroom offering and successfully completed the takeover of another established heating business in Pembrokeshire.

We’ve streamlined our quoting and office processes, improved communication with customers, introduced new technology and become much more focused on building a business that can grow without relying solely on me being on the tools every day.

One of the biggest benefits has been being surrounded by other ambitious business owners who openly share ideas, challenges and successes. The advice, support and accountability from both the coaches and members have been invaluable.

Off The Tools has helped me make better business decisions, avoid costly mistakes and think much bigger about what is possible. If you’re a tradesperson looking to build a business rather than just create yourself a job, I’d highly recommend it.

Been working with Andy and Wayne at Off The Tools for just over 6 months now and it’s honestly made a massive difference to my business already. In a short space of time I’ve tightened up systems, added automation, and sorted out pricing so it’s a lot more efficient and actually adds more value for customers.
