We aim to provide a second to none dining and bar experience - only first-class customer service complemented with top quality food, beer & wine. We pride ourselves that all food is cooked to order and uses locally sourced produce and fresh ingredients. There is a huge range of locally sourced and fresh ingredients cooked to order to choose from – from our light bites menu, sandwiches, Ala Carte menu alongside our Chefs daily special menus. All these menus are available in all areas, whether it be in our Inglenook Bar & Lounge Areas, Main Restaurant, Alfresco Dining Courtyard or our Alfresco Dining Front Patio Area. The menus are available from 12:00pm-3:00pm & 6:00pm-9.00pm Monday to Saturday & 12pm-7pm on Sundays. Drinks, coffees, and light bar snacks are available from 10am-close Monday to Friday & from 11am-close on Saturday and Sunday. In addition, it’s an ideal place to spend your lunch breaks with easy and free access to parking, so you won’t be late for work. There is a great range of baguettes, sandwiches, salads, and hot bar meals to suit your tastes. Enjoy our wide range of local ales, lagers, ciders, and spirits or choose from our extensive handpicked wine menu selected by Masters of Wine. I visited the Oak Barn on Monday for a funeral. There was a fabulous looking spread but i asked what was Gluten Free and Vegetarian.
Instantly the service manager, went into the kitchens and got the chef to provide me with some food. It was amazing service and the food was really good.
I will now use the Oak Barn for a meal out. I was so impressed.
I went to the Oak barn to meet a very dear friend. He had suggested it as a halfway house for us both.
Many moons ago, I worked at the Savoy in London. Back On The day when the Savoy was Heralded as a high class, place to eat and drink. I was a trainee there, I learnt about how good service was performed.
Over the past years I have found it a shame that so long as you wear a black pair of trousers and you didn’t sniff (too much) you could be a waiter or waitress.
It was wonderful to go to a place where decent uniforms are worn with service communication being polite and graceful. Where service staff know the menu aling with the limitations and beauties of each dish. Where drinks are placed not plonked and cutlery gleams. Finally, the bit that did it for me was watching our waitress, Holly, clear a table by stacking the plates on her arm with confidence.
I realise I am probably a voice from a by gone era, however it was great to be treated the old-fashioned way for a Sunday lunch.
Definitely a revisit
Just had a fabulous Sunday Roast with old friends and the whole experience was perfect. A special shout out for our waitress KITTY who was superb, whatever you are paying her isn’t enough.
