Nutricost is adulterated
Nutricost is junk, and some of its products are adulterated. Stay away from anything they sell! I found out from calling Nutricost customer service that only 25% of their Vit K2/K1 combo product has the pure active trans form for K2. The other 75% can be a cis-trans mix. Cis is not a biologically active isomer according to technical reports. If we don't know how much of the 75% is the active component then one doesn't know how much of it is effective. This could mean only 25% has any degree of potency. I also bought the Nutricost magnesium citrate powder and it had about 15 to 20% insoluble residue which was likely to be silica or some other filler since magnesium citrate is known to be 100% water soluble and all of this should have dissolved. It was gritty and is bad for a person's tooth enamel, and because if its abrasive action over time it will damage the enamel or fillings. The product label states that it has no other ingredients beside mag. citrate which is obviously not true. They do not stand behind their quality guarantee as stated on their label. FDA should fine them for selling adulterated and misleading products. I may report them to FDA.

I had ordered a product in January 2024, but all that was delivered to me was a defective package envelope wide open on one side and nothing but air and bubble wrap on the inside.
Nutricost refunded me for the product that I did NOT receive but refuses to refund me for the shipping fee EVEN THOUGH THE DEFECTIVE PACKAGE ENVELOPE IS ALL THAT I RECEIVED.
(I furnished Nutricost with photos of the defective envelope in question. Am naturally keeping all the evidence).
Below is an excerpt of the response from Nutricost Customer Service:
"Unfortunately, it is our policy at this time that we do not refund the shipping charge on orders that have already been shipped. As this order has already been shipped, we are unable to refund the shipping fee. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."
In other words, I'm apparently supposed to take a monetary loss that I do NOT even minutely deserve on any count across the board. Hmm....
Insuffiencnt doesage R-Alpha Lipoic Acid
This company manufacture appears to be a reputable company in the supplement industry and for some strange reason, they keep selling the R-form of ALA in 100mg. The problem is that anyone suffering from any nerve issue knows that the required dosage recommended daily is between 300mg to 600mg per day. Why this company Nutricost continues not to offer this R-form which is the real form of ALA in 300mg or 600mg is simply Baffling! You get simply no benefit from taking 100mg of this R-Form. So why they refuse to provide the consumer with the higher dosage option of R-ALA is mind-boggling! I have had to buy their 100mg product of R-ALA and take 6 per day to get the daily recommended amount of 600mg. I have written to this company inquiring why they don't make the higher dosage of R-AlA and the response I keep receiving is simply nonsense. No real explanation is provided. I can only assume they want the consumer to buy the 100mg dosage so they will be forced to buy more of this product. What makes no sense is this company sells the Lab-made ALA in a larger 600mg capsule dosage with 240 capsules. But they refuse to offer the Real R-form of ALA in higher dosages other than in 100mg capsules and any pharmacists will inform you that the R-Form is the natural form and the ALA product is the LAB-made form that some of these manufacturers continue to sell because it's a cheaper brand to make but it can cause havoc on the PERIPHERAL NERVES. Anyone suffering from any nerve pain will not get any real relief using a 100mg dosage of this product. Simply a fact! The Buyer will have to triple the dosage. This manufacturer could offer this R-ALA product in a higher dosage such as 300mg or 600mg which is the recommended daily allowance for individuals using R-ALA. This 100mg dosage is simply a rip-off and only benefits the manufacturer of this product. I can't recommend this product because it's not economically reasonable. Other sellers throughout the internet do sell the higher dosage of R-Alpha Lipoic Acid mazon do offer higher dosages 300mg to 600mg of the Real Form R-ALA which should be considered. When you buy the Nutricost 100mg of R-Alpha Lipoic Acid supplement if you suffer from neuropathy based on the daily recommended dosage being between 300mg to 600mg, you would have to use multiple capsules to secure the 300mg or 600mg recommended daily dose allowance for individuals suffering from any nerve pain. This specific product they are selling is simply not economically suitable for the consumer and only benefits the manufacturer because it keeps you buying more of the product frequently. Anyone suffering from neuropathy requires the R-form of Alpha Lipoic Acid because the fake brand, ALA which is lab-manufactured can cause havoc on the Peripheral Nerves. This manufacturer can certainly manufacture the R-form of ALA in a higher dosage, but the question is why won't they??
* Note I wrote this review on Amazon where the purchase was made and they had it removed. WHY???? The public has the right to know!
Started using their magnesium glycinate…
Started using their magnesium glycinate in August. Developed serious morning headaches and nausea which persisted until I switched to another brand. Found others on Amazon reported the same symptoms. Will no longer do business with the company and have trashed remaining full bottles of Lysine and Mag Glycinate to avoid poisoning myself further.
Terrible Customer Service
Bad experience with customer service. They simply never got back to me to fix an order mistake. I emailed them the day of the order because the issue happened and I realized right away it was wrong. That was more than a week ago. All they did was send a templated email to me about how to return an order and refused to even answer my question. I'm having to dispute through my credit card company, but they deserved a bad review for this terrible customer service.
Their web site is a joke
Their web site is a joke. I ordered some B2 and the site shows it is available. Well guess what, I got an email about 2 hours later and it tells me the item is out of stock. The email said that if they don't hear from me within 2 days I have to wait until they get the product back in stock. As for their phone number you have a better chance of seeing Santa on your front lawn before someone answers.
STEER CLEAR
STEER CLEAR. Order never received. They ignored 5+emails and 3 phone messages telling them over the next few weeks. Finally get an email showing UPS shipping from them proving I got it. When you open the link it shows that the package went back to Nutricost. They NEVER opened the link and continued to ignore me. Finally got someone to pick up the phone and I told her the story. Refund pending.
I am a physician and previous client…
I am a physician and previous client who ordered 4 bottles of supplements and received an opened flimsy mailer with only a receipt and a sliced open top. I immediately reported to nutricost and other than multiple questions and delays I have not gotten any answer regarding replacement or reimbursement. Customer service is lacking. I advise others to purchase their supplements somewhere else.
Definitely cheap but has great quality…
Definitely cheap but has great quality in pills u take its a success for me I'm going nutricost all across my supplements from now on..
Poor quality L-Lysine
Poor quality L-Lysine. I take L-Lysine for cold sores, which usually gives me very good control. However, when I tried Nutricost L-Lysine, I had frequent outbreaks. I switched to a different brand and I now have good control again.
I don't recommend Nutricost L-Lysine
Even though there prodcts are…
Even though there products are reasonable, good quality. There customer service is the worst. No one answered the phone. No reply to my emails. Don't even try to return something. You pay the shipping cost, and hope to get refunded.
Nutricost and Vitamin E
Nutricost and Vitamin E: looking at the type of vitamin E, says they are using a synthetic vitamin E and not a natural. The natural is much better for you than the synthetic. Also, I read that though the company is located in Utah, their products more than likely originate in China.
Caffeine and guarana are fakes
Neither their caffeine or their guarana contain anything remotely energizing or stimulating. Both products are frauds, and I'm assuming that others are as well.
Can't document product purity or contents
I've bought a few products from Nutricost noting they claim USP certified. They feature the logo on their website but I noticed not on any jars, so I contacted them asking for evidence of USP certification. They said sure, let them know batches. I did and they sent no information. I also asked for COAs which took many emails over 5 weeks but they finally sent, showing testing for contaminants like salmonella, but NO testing for the substance on the label, that is, COAs do NOT confirm purity or even existence of the labeled product. I asked for more info, crickets. At least some of their products seem to contain some unknown purity of substances claimed, but purity is questionable, their claims of third party USP tested seem false, and they can't or won't document anything related to product contents or certification.
Great product and efficient service.
I have purchased Theobromine from Nutricost. Excellent, fast service and great product. Good, low cost. Highly recommend.
Poor product poor response to report
I bought l-Argenine on line, it started smelling and tasting like ammonia so strong it couldn’t be used , I contacted Nutricost customer service and they had me send pics of container and product codes then informed me it was the retailer’s problem that I bought THEIR product through and I had to know where o bought it etc . One hoop after another to get a 11.00 product replaced with a usable one / not worth my time , I just will tell anyone and any reviews I do for them will be bad their loss
Nutricost and poor customer service
Nutricost and poor customer service
I ordered the product (MCT 8) on July 20. On July 22 the tracking number showed that UPS supposedly delivered the product to a main post office, but at the post office it said it was pending acceptance. So in other words, UPS said they unloaded it from the truck but the post office is saying they never got it. Finally, after 2 weeks, I contacted the company to report that I never received the product. They told me I had to chase it down with the post office and then they would take care of it. I order a lot of stuff online. This is the only company that has made me do the leg work to try to find the package. Since the post office did not receive it, I went back to the company. They said they would refund the money, all but the shipping. I told them it was not my fault that UPS lost the package and that Nutricost needed to go after UPS for the cost of the shipping but that I should not have to pay for it. They stated that is their policy. So buyer beware, if your package is lost, they will not refund shipping. I understand that if I change my mind and want to return it, that is my choice, my loss, but it should not be my loss when someone else loses the package. Not only that, they can't do the math. When I subtracted the cost of shipping off the original price (product plus tax plus shipping) I came up with a higher figure than what they refunded.
I will not do business with them again. There is plenty of alternate product out there for what I ordered and for much of what they have listed on their website.
