The PDF download of our premium templates requires a subscription, but our free templates with Basic Features are available without payment. When you select a Premium feature, you are informed about it immediately, and under "Download" you can see all Premium features used so you can switch them to Basic and download the document for free.

Novoresume still has a free plan, same as always. You can build and download a resume at no cost. Premium is optional, and we don't auto-renew or lock you in.
On pricing: we're consistently among the cheapest options on the market. One month of Premium costs less than a dinner out. And considering that it moves your chances of getting past an HR screen from around 5% to over 75%, and that 83% of our users land a job in their desired field, it's probably the highest-return thing you can spend on during a job search.
We also don't run ads and don't sell your data. The product works for you, not against you. That's rare, and it costs something to keep it that way.

Horrible typical scummy internet internet service. Make you invest time into building a CV and then hit you with a paywall when you try to download it (which you need to use it in any capacity).

We have a fully functional free version that lets you build and download a complete resume at no cost. The moment you select a Premium feature, the platform clearly flags it and disables the download button. Right below it, you can see exactly which Premium features are active on your resume so you can remove them and download for free. That information is always visible, always upfront.
We hear the frustration, but calling this a paywall trap is not an accurate description of what happened. You had the option to build and download a free resume at every step. If something felt unclear during that process, we are happy to help you get your resume sorted. Feel free to reach out to our support team and we will get it done.

Hidden paywall. Only at the very end, after giving the impression its free, do they tell you that you cant download to PDF unless you subscribe. Waste of time and effort.

Todo mal: funcionalidad y ética
No te avisan de que si vas progresando en los documentos no vas a poder descargarlos al final, así que después de un trabajo laborioso te dicen que pagues para poder descargarlos y crear más. Indecente e inmoral, podrían avisar antes.
Luego en cuanto a funcionalidad, muy mala. Todo muy estricto y configurado, poco moldeable. Sin duda la peor aplicación hasta el momento

Regarding pricing transparency: when you first time use a Premium feature, you're notified that it's a Premium feature (and all Premium features are specially marked for full transparency). We actually built it this way on purpose for transparency. When you go to download your resume, you'll see a clear list of all Premium features used, and you can easily remove any of them to download your resume for free. So you're never locked into paying.
As for the functionality feeling rigid: that's actually by design, and here's why. Our templates are built with ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) and recruiter readability in mind. Certain structural elements need to stay consistent because if a resume doesn't follow ATS-friendly formatting, it risks not being read by the system at all, which means your application might never reach a human. So while it may feel limiting, those constraints exist to give your resume the best chance of actually getting you to the interview.
That said, we're always working on giving users more flexibility where it doesn't compromise ATS compatibility. If you have specific suggestions, we'd be happy to hear them.
