I had posted some items in a political forum that disagreed with trump supporters on the forum. I left that political forum but every time an election came up, the trump loving crowd would report me and get me banned. The posts they flagged were not political nor were they offensive. One was where I talked about a car I owned and the experience with it for example. I reported that their monitors were misflagging and pointed out the examples. Also pointed out the fact that it happened most often a week before an election. I finally got an answer, but had pretty much had it with them. researched it and found it was common that their app was being used as an opposition tool in other areas elections. Not worth the trouble, They don't want to pay monitors, so let the company starve. I left 1 star but I'd give them nothing.

San Francisco - Richmond District. I was almost assaulted by an elderly couple because I asked them not to smoke. So the husband comes charging towards me and I have no choice but to start recording.
Nothing serious happened but I did end up sharing it to my neighbors on ND and was banned for a week for "exposing" and "invading someone's privacy". Just because I wanted to let my neighbors know to avoid the couple at the Peet's Coffee on Geary.

Tried it for the first time today. Posted 1 listing for a yard sale under the garage sale listing and was immediately hit with "Account indefinitely suspended

I get an incredible number of worthless, time-wasting posts. I have tried over and over to unsubscribe. I have tried multiple times to turn off all notifications. Nothing works.

My advice to the innocent: NEVER give this site your email address.

I would say 70% of responses are courteous but the other 30% are snide to rude remarks. The moderators are very biased in favor of the right politically or very conservative Christian beliefs in North West Arkansas. If you want to contest a removal of a posting they seem to always reject it out of hand with no feedback. On the plus side if you post about cats or dogs then this is the social media site for you.

I help people barter and share, free housing, organic food, education, etc... there are alot of homeless people on Nextdoor. I posted a list of business service that provide free housing and food to the poor and homeless. Example, The YMCA for single moms provides emergency housing. So, I posted about a Dozen Places people to go to if poor or homeless... No money in it for me... and they banned my post??? Whenever I'm banned they ban me for 30 days or more???
Honestly, I think its a surveillance site for profit. And, like Youtube and X.com... it's full of propaganda and lies. Sad, I could be a great site... I was also banned for recommending the healthiest Markets in Lou.

They are taking away my right to free speech.

It's not just that every other post is an add. Its that half the adds are snakeoil and target the elderly. It's pure greed and evil.

This is the worst Social Media site online... they treat their adult members like stupid children... like the mainstream media does. The sites name should be changed to Propaganda Super Highway. The site was started for pushing dangerous drug ads and untrue propaganda that hurts people. I was banned two plus times weekly for posting life changing information.

Example. America doesn't get our oil the Middle East... we get our Oil and Methane from America. Also, it's a renewable resource, like water. Also, America has over 300 years of oil in our reserves. I know this as a fact. So, ND does what it do and bans me... saying, my post was inappropriate??? Yep, the truth is inappropriate.

Also, the read all your personal chats??? They will take them down.. so, you can't talk your neighbors. Honestly, I think ND, Facebook, and Youtube are very dangerous and should be banned.

I found out by scientist that you can destroy Glysophate and other toxic weed killers with Sauerkraut Juice. Everyone knows that Glysophate causes cancers and other life ending disease of plants, humans and animals. I post a reviewed study and video... Of, course they took it down and banned me for 3 weeks??? So, I find this site very dangerous.

I also read that tons of pedeo's are on the site hunting for victims... Please let people know ND isn't a safe site.

Wat een idioot bedrijf. Ik zet iedere keer alle mails uit maar eens in de zoveel tijd besluit Nextdoor daar lak aan te hebben en worden (er waarschijnlijk door e.o.a policy wijziging weer mails aangezet) daarbij is het ook zeer raar dat je niet account kunt verwijderen maar alleen kunt laten deactiveren, zodat je hem later weer kunt activeren. Volgens voldoet dit niet aan wetgeving.

Plumbing problem, called Rob Mobley not only was he fast and good but very affordable. He's done several other projects for me and he is awesome

I use to use the site when it first came over to the UK, I thought it was a fantastic idea.

Unfortunately I have had my account banned indefinitely for "not using my real name" despite me sending my passport ID page over.

This is because for the first time I had to put a post up about my cat going missing on the 06/04/26 and I was hopping a neighbour had seen her as she has never just disappeared.

Well I guess I should think about starting my own social platform for my neighbours as clearly there services is going to do nothing but decline.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I cleaned carpets $30 a room (lowest price in the industry) includes everything shampoo deodorizer sanitizer and oxi. I could hang signs on telephone poles and get more business than I got here! $30 a room I get inundated with calls!! I haven't gotten a job yet from this app! either I'm not visible or it's not reaching the right people in my area!

If there was a feature where you could sign your enemies up for Next Door, that would be the single useful thing this app is good for because your enemies would be so buried in notifications, they couldn’t possibly plot against you.

This app has 8 categories of notifications. You cannot shut off one category of notifications. You must shut off all of the notification types in that category. For instance, in notifications about posts on Next Door, there are 7 potential notifications you must shut off manually. Local Agencies has 13 sub-notification sections, each with two notification toggles you have to shut off individually.

I counted about 60 individual settings you have to shut off just to stop just to them to stop sending you emails or notifications. No Unsubscribe All. Every time they add or change a notifications type you’ll get emails and have to go login and unsubscribe from that one. And if you haven’t figured it out by now—it’s all the time—they love their notifications.

The people who made this app must hate you. There’s no other explanation. It’s been long enough they know what they are doing and don’t care. Do you really want to give these people your time (and the ad revenue) and money?

Out of the blue, and without asking my permission, some account on Nextdoor started sending me emails pretty much every day. When I went to the website and looked at a couple of posts, they were offensive, including racist. I have now tried to unsubscribe on the website 4 or 5 times, and I have tried sending an email to a variety of nextdoor imagined email addresses, such as spam @ nextdoor.com If this bullshit continues to come my way, I will file complaints with state and federal regulatory agencies, and consider a class action lawsuit.

Edited 4/4/26: I keep trying to unsubscribe. The emails are arriving from this address: reply @ rs dot email dot nextdoor dot com. Google says this is a legitimate domain.

The one star that this platform has is definitely well reserved. This platform might have potential, but the moderation ruins it entirely. Moderators are untrained, biased, and wield too much power over users. I’ve had eight accounts banned for no real reason, simply for mentioning a political topic or posting in the wrong feed.
Favoritism is blatant: if a moderator dislikes you, they, and sometimes others, target everything you post. Recently, I was banned for a week for a completely harmless political discussion. Just a few days after returning, I was banned again for two weeks for something I had posted weeks prior. There’s no consistency or accountability, and even old posts can get you blocked arbitrarily.
This isn’t moderation, it’s harassment. The moderators act like gatekeepers with zero training, and it shows. Until Nextdoor hires a real, professional moderation team instead of giving untrained community members unchecked power, the platform will continue to drive users away.
Add to that the flood of ads compared to the past, and it’s clear the leadership doesn’t understand running a platform. This app could have been useful, but with biased, incompetent moderators calling the shots, it’s doomed to remain small and frustrating.

It doesn’t deserve a star but I had to give it one to write review. Administrators are extremely liberal. Anything conservative…even if you just ask where a conservative rally is, you will be kicked off. I paid 500 hundred dollars in three months for my add and I got zero customers and every time I called they put me on hold for over 45 minutes and nobody answered, terrible customer service and no results at all!!

No one knows who are on the committee that monitors anything. It is ultra conservative that promotes cooperation for the cops and politicians. ITT trashes out those that don’t share Nexttdoor’s mentality.
