HORRIBLE, LACK OF COMMUNICATION, USELESS, UNPROFESSIONAL.
My Gf has a motorcycle injury claim through Newman Law, with Simon Newman on the case and it’s taken him 7 years to submit this to court I’m in utter disbelief DO NOT USE THIS LAW FIRM !!!!

Very poor service. called them three times and sent an email, only to be told after a week that they were to busy to help.

Yasmine was responsive, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. Dealt with everything in a timely manner from start to finish in selling our property. Also used Newman Law in 2020 to purchase the property and they were excellent then also.

Excellent service received in the London branch. The negative reviews are about a branch office closed down called Taylor made conveyancing. A shame.

To begin notice the opening page which says 5* is 8% and 1* is 92% with no other * ratings in between, what does that tell you, and I will bet money that the 92% are like me in the fact you cannot give lower so have to give1* to allow a review.It has taken from house move in April 2021 until last week to finally receive outstanding money from transaction….absolutely inept, unprofessional firm, how they are still and allowed to trade is beyond me. (See reviews) I am not alone!!!! I reported them to the SRA but as far as I am concerned they were as much use as the proverbial “ash tray on a motorbike”, but after this I had a case opened with the Ombudsman and after a time, because of COVID catch-up,I must say that they were most helpful and achieved what I was not able to do for nearly 20 months a result, so finally I can be FREE of this incompetent, non professional firm!!! My advice to anyone even thinking of using them is “ DO NOT TOUCH THEM WITH A TEN FOOT POLE” or better still stop a person in the street, they will surely do a better job for you.!!!!There is a book full of issues I could write but I think this shorter review tells it like it is.

I will never forget the efficiency and incredible kindness of Mohammed Khaled Hussain at Newman law. This man did exactly what you hope a solicitor will do. A few months ago we found something "odd" in the paperwork from the vendor when I was about to exchange. Turns out that "something odd" could have cost me over 10k. Mohammed helped prevent a huge disaster and was so kind and patient in explaining it to me. This man has the patience of an angel. I cannot thank him enough. He went above and beyond. I simply cannot write anything in words that would do him justice. Thank you Mohammed. I'll always be grateful for what you did for me. From Louise C.

I am still waiting for a completion statement from Taylor Made Conveyancing for a re mortgage on a property which went through at the start of April 2021. There is a discrepancy between monies received from the bank and what was transferred via Newman Law which still needs addressing.

Taylor Made closed their doors shortly after and Newman Law assured us that they would sort out. Last communications from them was the 1st July.

Terrible service! avoid this solicitor firm if you want to receive normal legal services!! we 'completed' the purchase 4 months ago only informed by land registry, the solicitor hasn't even submitted an application to register the property details 4 months after completion. We are currently trying to refinance the property, no registration means we can't refinance and we are losing a lot of money due to their negligence. We started calling and emailing this company when we found out from the Land registry, but no one will get back to you, even the receptionist was extremely rude. A written complaint has been made to this company, but still no one gets back, apparently they just don't care about the customer's complaint, we will complan it legal ombudsman for their terrible terrible service, I am sure this isn't a single case!

The worst team ever, they should not be trading, emails not answered, calls not answered, work not completed, treated like a 2nd class citizen, these lot are not professional, you will be ruined and will suffer, every time i called them, they disconnect the call, it should of been a straight forward transaction, i am a cash buyer, even made their jobs easier by saying do not do any enquiries, searches, but still on stage 1, nothing completed done, they do not know what they are doing, i had to do their job by contacting the seller side to find out what is going on, newman law team DO NOT CARE, ITS NOT THEIR MONEY, their are cowboys, my experience was a night mare, do not risk, they will offer you a cheap deal, don't go for it, run run run, newman law say they have done this and that, that they have sent the forms over, and I will contact seller side and they will say they have received nothing, they are liars, please do not use them, i also paid extra fee's to get this job done quicker, i regret it now, i was warned by my partners to not use newman law, I had 3 case handlers who all lied that forms have been sent over to vendor side, which was all lies, these lot are not honest and do not trust them, please read other people reviews before risking your hard earned money with newman law, i would pay another trust worthy firm more money next time, its not worth it over two hundred pounds or more, for this stress, headache and job not completed, newman law SHOULD BE BANNED, and should be investigated, I received one from a company called MyNewMove which claimed they were solicitors) - just don't. MYnewmove is a poor bad service to recommend these lot, newman law know they are doing wrong and they do not want to answer the phones, because we the public will want answers, please i beg you to never use them, You have to say no, its only 2 hundred or 3 hundred pounds less, - They lied. A lot. They would claim for example that the other solicitor hadn't been in touch with them, so we would check with the estate agent and had the seller's solicitor ring us DIRECTLY to tell us that she couldn't get through to anyone in newman law for an update.
every time you will email them, the 3 case handlers, you will get a out of office reply, all the time, they do not respond, and just want to make quick easy money on a yearly basic, all other solicitors firms should never hire any one from newman law, THEY WILL RUIN YOUR REPUTATION, do check their background, the case handlers at newman law are very sneaky and sly, they all have their direct numbers, which they will never give out, they are mostly all school leavers on work experience, I thankfully was working from home and I work in a flexible job so I was able to spend the majority of my time writing emails and ringing them desperately searching for an update. However, this is not the norm and it is not your job to be chasing the people who are providing you with a service that you are paying for. Also bear in mind this was an option for me and I still couldn't get a response. Please whatever you do, do not use newman law and spend some more money into getting a reputable solicitor
Slow, couldn't care less, don't return your calls or emails, always in meetings/lunch/on the other line/sick, 7 months after completion still don't have all paperwork completed, instructed for quick sale (very straight forward) took 4 months, not solicitors, cheap- only way they can get business!, don't reply/ignore complaints & loads more. USE ANOTHER COMPANY if you don't want sleepless nights, anxiety, stress, continually trying to chase, want a job done properly. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

when you will call for a update, i guarantee they will disconnect the line with pride and passion, when this happens you will break your tv, you will then expect a call back, when you contact complaints team and directors managers, they will ignore you with a passion

Absolutely terrible service!! Was allocated Newman Law by home legal direct on 1/2/21 to act for me on a property sale. Since then I have spent MONTHS chasing this sale trying to get an update only to be ignored repeatedly.
This week I have discovered that Newman Law are no longer doing conveyancing BUT have not bothered to tell any of their clients or home legal direct. Newman Law have forwarded my case to another solicitors who are also failing to contact me. Over 5 months later and this case is back to square one!!! Do yourself a favour and pay for a local solicitor, yes you will pay much more but at least your conveyancing transaction will be dealt with!!.

Cannot even begin to explain how incompetent they are, they knew from the beginning of the transaction the date we needed to exchange and CLOSED their office that day after promising it would be sorted. I don't want to waste my time outlining the multiple other issues, pretty much the same as the other reviews. If you see that Newman Law are working on any part of a transaction just pull out now. Caused so much stress for everybody involved totally unnecessarily. Do not give them the time of day, they lost us about £1,000 in moving costs due to their total incompetence and unavailability. I am surprised they're allowed to practice it's absolutely disgusting service. Will be reporting to the ombudsman.

Avoid completely - Newman Law subbed our case to Taylor Made Conveyancing without advice. Newman Law then closed the relationship with TMC and passed 700 cases to PCS Legal with no notice to us!
Just an awful service - no fault of PCS who picked up the mess.

absolute nightmare of a company, do not reply to emails , phone calls are a answer machine that they do not contact you back on messages left, we have just lost a property due to their incompetence after a 5month wait, please for your sanity stay well away.

The nightmare of my life. Abandoned before the completion day.

Early in February, my house offer was accepted by the vendor. I have been advised by my mortgage broker to use the conveyancing company Atrium Legal. I got a quote with these people and they instructed Hudson Clark Law (part of Newman Law) to deal with my case. This is when the nightmare started.
Throughout the entire period, they were ignoring my calls, text messages and emails and after chasing them daily using all possible communication methods, they finally set the completion day, the 3rd of June. They requested the funds from the bank for the 3rd of June so therefore everything was set. On the 2nd of June, I have gotten a text message from my solicitor (Joanne) saying she is not longer working for the company and my case was sent to London. This had happened 1 day before completion day, I was stunned.
We got on the 3rd of June, desperately trying to reach the London office via telephone (I have called them at least 25 times in a row until they have answered) to find out that my file is incomplete and I need to sign 2 documents and send to them. All needed docs were signed before and sent to Joanna so they should've had them. I have signed them again and sent them with UPS but when I have called them to see if the documents have arrived, they denied it.
I have called the bank and they have said the money were sent on the 3rd of June and to contact the solicitors. Now the solicitors are in the possession of my mortgage money and they refuse to complete the purchase.
Today is 4th of June, I'm am close to a mental breakdown. They still not answering the phone or emails. I do not know what to do...
I BEG EVERYONE reading this review, please stay away from these people. They have destroyed our dream, our work for years, our future.

Seriously, they demand instant payment for doing nothing you cannot do yourself - £300!
They get good reviews because they ask immediately for it - before you the trouble starts.
They introduced us to Newman Law who are letting us down terribly.
There are better ways of finding a solicitor.

I cannot even begin to express how appalling the service is that we received from Newman Law.

Through a third party, we engaged the services of Hudson Clark, a trading style under Newman Law, based in Leeds.

From the very start of the process, the service we received from them has been unimaginably bad. We had little to no contact from them throughout the whole process without constant chasing on our part.

We outlined our wish to exchange quickly after reservation as per the needs of our new build developer, to which our requests were constantly ignored. Countless emails and voicemails with no response, we eventually made a complaint to the head office ( Newman Law themselves ) who actually admitted they were having ‘a lot of problems’ with the office we used. This eventually led to our handler ‘leaving the business’ ( sacked, we assume ).
Our handler changed, and we were never informed of this change, which led to numerous problems with communication and correspondence going to the wrong place.

From the start of the process, we were not once contacted given the opportunity to speak to our solicitors and ask any questions / raise any concerns we had. I have never experienced a service where it feels like the provider does not care in the slightest. There were times where we spent full weeks sending emails and leaving voicemails, to feel like we were genuinely being ignored.

Our new handler was no better, making constant mistakes with forms and details, making false promises on timescales for completing tasks, delaying the process massively. This ended up with us nearly losing our purchase, as the developer got so fed up of the wait to exchange, they planned to put the house back on the market.

We somehow got the exchange done, after endless complaints and constant chasing on our part. We thought we had finally made it.

Completion day. We spoke to the solicitor earlier in the week and asked if they had everything they needed to complete, and were informed everything was in order and ready. On the actual day - turns out the forms help to buy needed hadn’t been completed correctly and were rejected. This happened over and over until the day passed and we didn’t complete the day. This caused a mass waste of time and financial loss to us because we had made plans completely around that completion date.

Honestly, I urge anyone who reads this who is looking for a solicitor to avoid them at all costs. Their customer service is non existent and there is incompetency at every level. AVOID

Words cannot express how terrible this experience has been for all parties involved. I engaged the services of Hudson Law via a third party system and explicitly added a note to say that the customer was a family member of a staff member and service would be absolutely key. It was if the firm took this as a challenge to be as terrible as possible. The mortgage application was submitted in December and offered on the 22nd January. The firm didn't raise the searches until nearly a month later which they then claimed was due to not having the instruction forms after the client had posted the forms to the address the solicitor provided to then be told, it was a different firm and they had been forwarded on. The communication throughout the process was non existent for both the customer and us as an introducing party meaning that we had to call upon various senior management from the third party system to actually get anywhere. Then as we approached the end of the case (thank the lord as I honestly didn't think we'd make it) We had Hudson Law provide a certificate of title and request mortgage funds from the lender on the 7th May 2021 this was prior to the client actually receiving any paperwork. She was asked to sign documents to acknowledge reports that actually hadn't even been provided to her and when those reports were requested before signing it took days to receive said reports. We were then told that completion was due to take place on the 14th but this didn't happen as they didn't even have the client funds. The client was promised a call on Monday that was never received before the completion took place on Wednesday of this week but again throughout this time the client could not even talk to anyone or get an update as the phone lines closed after 1.30pm but even if you called before then you could not get through. To cap this all off and genuinely make me concerned about the solicitors on panel was that the solicitor had held the funds from the 7th May effectively making the lender believe the case was completed when it was not which is not okay, the lender should have received those funds back because ultimately the solicitor could have taken that money and disappeared but actually this is a big detriment to the customer as the lender will charge interest on their funds from the day of release when the customer wasn't actually the owner of the property so she is now paying an additional two weeks interest for a time when she shouldn't have to as she was not the owner or occupying the property. I am 100% sure the solicitor has broken rules here that should not have been and we will be advising the client to make a formal complaint to the solicitor as we intend to take this to the Solicitors Regulation Authority to investigate.
