Vam fer amb Alternative Treks el clàssic camp base de l'Everest, afegint-hi l'Imja Tse (Island Peak). Moltes agències ofereixen aquest mateix conjunt, però després de mirar-me'n unes quantes, vam tenir clar que aquesta era la ideal. Ens va agradar tant la filosofia de la companyia, com un munt d'altres valoracions positives, com el fet de que tinguin guies noies (una feina tradicionalment ocupada només per homes). També, i era important, el preu és realment ajustat, cosa per la qual encara ens va sorprendre més l'alta qualitat del servei que vam rebre, de nivell TOP.

El manager, el Tej, és ràpid i molt amable a l'hora de resoldre qualsevol dubte. Abans del viatge, i durant! (perquè si hi ha cap imprevist, com amb cancel·lacions amb vols de Lukla, cal comunicació constant). Encantadíssims amb ell, la veritat.

I la nostra guia va ser la Ritika. No tenim paraules per descriure com de bé ens va tractar tots els dies. Un encant de persona, super professional, i la veritat és que en properes aventures a d'altres indrets, trobarem a faltar que ella no hi sigui també!

Quant a l'Imja Tse, et posen a disposició un guia d'alta muntanya especialitzat, i els serveis del camp base. També, en aquest cas, només tenim boníssimes paraules per al Mingma, el Sherpa que va estar amb nosaltres fins al cim.

Podria escriure llargament sobre l'experiència, però si es tracta de saber si recomanaria o no aquesta agència per a fer un trekking, expedició, etc, rotundament sí. Quan sigui que tornem al Nepal en el futur, cap dubte que serà amb ells. Molt contents i agraïts.

I, per sort (imprevistos de vols cancel·lats per mal temps a banda), tot va anar bé i vam complir tots els objectius!

PD: També comentar que en el nostre cas som vegans, i no vam tenir cap problema enlloc. La Ritika es va encarregar en tot moment d'informar-nos de totes les opcions i assegurar-se amb la cuina que tot era sense productes animals, i fins i tot vam menjar super bé al camp base (el cuiner d'allà, el Mingma, un altre crack!)

We just came back after a rewarding trek to Khopra ridge (Khopra Danda, as it's called in Nepal) in the Annapurna region. It's a less trodden trail in an otherwise highly crowded Annapurna region. It has trails going through traditional villages, pristine forests, leading to wonderful viewpoints of Muldai & Khopra ridge.

Weather played a bit of a spoilsport keeping cloudy which didn't let us go to Muldai, but Khopra ridge was splendid with panoramic views of Annapurna & Dhaulagiri ranges up close. Rhododendrons were in full bloom at the higher reaches. En-route Khopra from Dobato, the views at Baily pastures with grazing yaks amidst blooming rhododendrons will make you spell bound.

The services of Nepal Alternative treks were as good as the views. It was at the guide's encouragement, that we went up to Khopra, despite clouds & were rewarded with clear views amidst an otherwise cloudy & gloomy weather.

It's worth going with them again.

Nepal Alternative Trek – Annapurna Base Camp 7 Day Trek

Exactly what we hoped for, and more!
From the preparation phase all the way through to the end.

My partner and I booked our 7 day private guided trek to Annapurna Base Camp in early April of 2025.
We wanted to be able to enjoy the scenery, the different sights and experience at our own pace and we got exactly that with this tour.

Initially we were greeted by Tej who helped us take care of permits and other questions in regards to gears and rental options available. Tej was very accommodating, and gave us all the information we needed in order to prepare ourselves weeks in advanced of the trek. And ultimately connecting us with our guide for the journey.

We were picked up on the day of the trek by our guide with a jeep and headed towards the starting point of the itinerary. Over the next 7 days could only be described as magical, with the forecast overshadowing a rainy and stormy ascent and low visibility. We prepared ourselves with low expectations for the chances of seeing the mountains and tried to focus on enjoying things moment by moment. Little did we know that the mountains had other plans and decided to show us the full display of its beauty. Of course, we had our fair share of rain and low visibility, to us it really added to the grandeur of its reveal once the weather did clear up.

None of this would have been possible without the help and humility of our guide and porter; Andrea and Surya. Their expertise of the area, connections with the different location we headed to each day really made us feel as if we were in the best hands possible. We greatly owe them our thanks to their generosity and hospitality. We could not see ourselves journeying this trek without those two, who we now consider as friends.

To anyone looking for a private guide for their small group or just want to travel alone, we could not recommend booking with Nepal Alternative Treks more.

Even though i couldnt finish Manaslu circuit trek and had to be rescued by helicopter. I can confirm high quality service from this company especially the owner Tej and my guide Sanjay. We did the Manaslu circuit trekking in our private small group: a porter, a guide, my two adult sons and me. We expected a challenging trip, and it was! From Europe we contacted Nepal Alternative Treks & Expeditions and the company took care of all our needs: permits, a guide, a porter, transfer from and to the airport (with a meet and greet with flowers), briefing the day before the start of the trip. The punctuality was super. The first day we made the transfer to the start of the trekking by public bus, and that is something to avoid ... better pay a little bit more for a private jeep. The trekking was extremely nice but for me as a 65 year old father also very challenging. I was very happy to be with a guide who took care of me the whole trip (also of my sons, but they are young ... so for them the trekking was a little bit easier). We did the trekking at our pace, there was always plenty of food and the lodges were quite comfy (except the last one before the pass). We skipped the acclimatization day and the guide made new arrangements for the lodges to come. He also arranged a jeep for the drive back to Kathmandu. The next day, we met the manager of the company for a drink and a debriefing in town, and we got also our certificate. If we ever go back to Nepal to do another trekking, we definitely would choose Nepal Alternative Treks again.
Everything was perfect and I give them a 10 out of 10 score.

New year trekking in Langtang.
This trip was my second time in Nepal with Nepal Alternative trek.
We finished Langtang trekking in 5 days with our lovely guide, Ritika and strong porter, Ram.
This was an amazing experience and challenging journey. We did it safely.

The trip was perfectly organized from start to finish. Right after booking, Tej kept in touch with us, advising on all matters. During the trek we had support from a wonderful guide Ritika, a very nice, caring, helpful person. She helped me when I had knee problems, she lent me a knee bandage, thanks to which I could continue trekking. Porter (I think his name is Ali) was an incredibly strong and helpful man, we were impressed by his endurance (he even once reached our place of accommodation and came back to help carry the other backpacks we had). I really regret that we didn't manage to meet Tej after the trek. Maybe we will manage on another occasion, maybe we will do another expedition with his company sometime.

This was first time in Nepal and my first trek. Our guide Nauser and two porters Ram and Raju made this experience super smooth and enjoyable. We found Nepal Alternative Treks cheerful website and booked the 23 day Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek November/December this year. It was just the two of us and a guide. A big thank you to Tej at Nepal Alternative Treks for his communication and quick response to all our questions and for his warmth and good nature. Dilal was our lovely guide! He is a kind, intelligent and fun person. Not only is he super professional and organised, also patient, caring and fabulous company! Dilal had great rapport with all the guest house owners and people we met along the way. We had valuable insight into local culture, current affairs and stories having Dilal by our side. The trek and the whole experience was a wonderful adventure from start to finish. Instead of flying to Bhadrapur, we chose to take the overnight bus to Birtamode and then jumped in a 10hr jeep to Taplejung. The following day we took a 4hr jeep to Ranipul. On the 4th day we started trekking. Everything went smoothly. The Rai, Limbu and Sherpa people were always friendly. The guest houses welcoming. The veg food on offer was cooked fresh and super delicious. The biodiversity in this conservation area of Nepal from the deciduous to the pine forests and finally to the high mountains is absolutely incredible! Long may it last.

Nepal Alternative Treks, and in particular the owner/operator Tej, was PERFECT and professional from our first communication right until we were heading back home on our return flight. Tej's initial emails were very quick, timely and concise and we were never left waiting to hear back. He quickly suggested various itineraries and was responsive to our needs. Our Mother/son trip was executed with such professionalism from Tej in the office to our fun, friendly guide, Laxman, to our wonderful, kind, mightly porter, Careman. We both agreed that Laxman was able to time every day perfectly, getting to spots early in day, beating the crowds up peaks/passes and choosing the best time of day for the weather........which was also perfect! We did not see a cloud the whole time (not sure who planned THAT!!!???). Upon our return to Lukla we were delayed due to flight cancellations but even that was handled with professionalism and transparency. Tej, in Kathmandu, quickly adjusted our hotel bookings and by the next day we were on a flight back. Tej also took care of booking our flights to/from Pokhara and all of our hotels/transfers. Tej met us for followup after the trek and offered assistance/advice for touring Pokhara and Kathmandu. We even met up with our guide on our last day for a dinner out and met up with Tej before we left. We came as strangers/ clients but I feel we left as friends. I'll definitely be back and I would not hesitate to recommend this local company for anyone looking to experience true Nepali hospitality and the Himalaya!
