We bought a car, David (the owner) was outwardly very freindly and helpfull, however as with most cars that dealers sell there was no petrol in it, so we spent £65 filling it up drove to Harlow and the clutch failed. David came out took the car and said it would be fixed in 3 days, this turned into a week which turned into 2 weeks and after six weeks it still was not repaired. He offered a full refund but it seemed to be a nice car so we held on week after week. He did loan us a clapped out car which we had to insure for £60, we had also taxed and insured the car we bought on the day we bought it. We had to constantly chase David for an update. In the end after 6 weeks we asked for our money back plus the costs we had incurred at this point he started shouting saying that the car repair had cost him thousends although he had not repaired it. He so we lost 6 weeks of tax and insurance costs and because he failed to transfer the log book to us the we were not entitlled to a refund. When I asked him to at least refund the petrol he started laughing and being abusive. We bought the car in good faith and whilst we understand things go wrong we do not expect to be out of pocket laughed at and abused plus he effectivley stole the fuel from us. In summary do not trust this man all he cares about is himself and money, when things go wrong he will simply take advantanage unhelpful and abusive.

David and Steve are amazing, really friendly and very accommodating. They go above and beyond.
If something isn’t right or you’re not happy with it they will do their best to fix it.

A bitter experience with this Nationwide Vehicle Buyers (NVB). Started well enough, I sent details of my vehicle and received two texts in return confirming their evaluation. The second text increased the evaluation a little. I was invited to make an appointment, which I did for the 23 Jan 2023.

All well so far; proceeded to make the 20 mile trip to their office in Stansted Airport. NVB appeared to occupy an office in a large building, although I never actually saw their office. I was met in the building lobby by the vehicle evaluator who was pleasant enough. We went to the carpark to see my vehicle. At this point I started to have my suspicions that all was not right. The visual examination was cursory to say the least; a quick visual of the bodywork, tires and odometer and a couple of photos. ( I’ve used a competitor before and they did an in-depth visual ie outside , inside, engine , underneath, boot and VIN number and not just the one in the windscreen plus all paperwork including service history).

My suspicions were reinforced on the way back to the office, when I was asked what I wanted for the vehicle. Surprised I explained that I had a written evaluation and that I was there on the basis of that evaluation. I was left in the lobby while the evaluator when upstairs to see the boss. After 15 mins he returned to say that there had been a mistake and the evaluation was wrong and that they couldn’t pay anything like that. After expressing my displeasure the boss called me. He introduced himself as the owner of the company and in a rather aggressive manner, stated that the original evaluation was wrong and that it had not been prepared by NVB. I complained that I had been lured to the appointment under false pretences, at which point the ‘boss’ became more aggressive.

I left saying I’d make a negative review. Driving home I had a call from NVB which I couldn’t take, half an hour later I received a second call, in a much friendlier tone, asking me not to make a negative review. At no point did I receive an apology for their “mistake” or for the inconvenience I’d been put through.

Having moved to London recently, I had to sell my luxury car in favour of something cheaper to insure and so took to autotrader to find something. I had my sights set on an Audi which was being sold by Nationwide at a VERY good price, and so I arranged to come by to have a look.

I was dealt with by David who kept in touch with me prior to the viewing, sent me a video viewing of the car in advance and was in touch to make sure everything was as needed.

On the day, due to an issue with transport I was late to see the car by some time, despite this however David declined to sell the car to a handful other buyers who'd tried to 'snipe' the sale, and greeted me with a coffee on the day.

There were no issues at all with the car or the sale, and we made very quick business. I left very happy feeling super chuffed with the price, service and interaction surrounding the car, and would happily recommend them to any buyers looking for a fair deal in the London area.

Wayne was very pleasant to deal with and he gave me a fair price for my car. It was very easy to have him visit me at home for a valuation, then follow-up texts to agree a price, then a few days later he was back to collect the car, immediately transfer the payment and then drive it away. I called Wayne to see if Nationwide might be interested in buying my father-in-law's car. After giving him a full description, he gave me an offer based on the details that I supplied. Once he saw the car, there was absolutely no quibble, no trying to reduce the price, just a straightforward, no-nonsense transaction. My father-in-law was pleased with the price and I was happy at the way business was transacted.

After I made an online valuation request I was contacted and an appointment made. Both Kevin and Wayne were incredibly helpful and professional. After agreeing upon a fair & favourable value for my car (considerably more than other car buyers) the deposit was paid directly into my bank. On the day of collection a transfer for the remaining balance arrived in my account within moments.
