I recently found Gene Food and I am super impressed with the reports I received. I am a registered dietitian who specializes in functional nutrition and this information is extremely valuable to anyone that is curious about how their genetic composition is related to their food intake. I personally wanted to see if this service is something I should recommend to my patients and it absolutely passed with flying colors. It is so incredibly spot on to my own personal history with food and genetic mutations that are directly impacted by food. The diet recommended to me by Gene Food is exactly the same one I had come up with for myself, but with even more specific details that are evidence-based and backed by facts. I will be recommending this to everyone I work with, and I appreciate the prompt and kind customer service as well, and I give a 10/10 would absolutely recommend!

This test is a gamechanger! When you are tired of every other video telling you carnivore, keto, paleo, vegan, or counting macros is the only answer, then it is time to see how your specific body's engine functions best. I am down 4 belt notches and no longer an example of inflammation in a mere 10 weeks. Get this testing and see for real if you have methylation, histamine, gluten, and lactose issues. A healthy GUT is a healthy YOU!

I purchased kits for my husband, my daughter and myself. I love how much important information is in our results and we feel much more able to make decisions about our diets without all the confusion out there. Now we KNOW that we are eating the diet best for each of us, not what's recommended by some influencer or even Doctor without this critical information.

I stumbled onto Gene Food in Feb/March 2024, and it changed my life. Gene Food’s focus on targeting the nutritional-based genes (per published studies) is what intrigued me. It was the missing piece I desperately needed. My subsequent health improvements have been substantiated from testing by my mainstream doctors. I’ve learned how and what (and what not) to eat for my genetics, as well as how my body handles/utilizes foods. Eye opening. Not necessarily a total magical cure but I’ve experienced significant health improvements since utilizing Gene Food personalized reports. For me, my lipid team has been testing me annually for over 15 years with Boston Heart’s extensive lipid and health panels. I could never pinpoint why some years were remarkably better than others and some years were horribly terrible, excluding obvious genetic issues that will always dictate certain numbers to be negative (out of my hands). With 10 years of coronary calcium scores of “0”, I’ve had three so far, my doctors have allowed my personal decision to stay off meds to manage lipids. Plus, I have always maintained an extremely “healthy, organic” eating lifestyle. But still, lipids have been a major up and down challenge. To my surprise, after strictly following my new Gene Food eating plan for 3 months in late winter/spring 2024, which was a huge change to my already ultra healthy eating, my lipid numbers drastically normalized in almost every marker. I cheated on my eating plan over the summer and saw my lipid numbers going in the wrong direction again, although still eating very healthy. Back on track in the fall, I just had a repeat Boston Heart in 2025 and my numbers are back where my doctor wants to see them. I am doing all this without being on any medications, although ideally my doctors would prefer to put me on one med just to be safer. It’s my choice to decline, for now. The key for me is to follow my personal eating plan from Gene Food, a plan which actually helps me, and to keep testing testing testing my numbers. And to my surprise, my lipid improvements have also extended to other areas of my life, including easy maintenance of normal weight and unexpected improvements in other health parameters. I can’t thank Gene Food enough for their novel genetic focused personal eating reports. Gene Food is truly growing with the new research out there and their programs have really helped me fine-tune how to eat for MY body. If you want answers, it really really guides you. If you don’t want to hear it or don’t want to accept the potential eating changes &/or restrictions, nothing will change. I speak from experience as I have a family member in the latter camp. Knowledge = power if you are open to making changes. Just reality, not a criticism of anybody, as I know change is very hard sometimes. Even if you have to be on meds, these plans will help you give your individual body the tools to improve your health and not fight against it. I do like that this company will update my reporting as the research changes/updates over time. Worth paying an annual fee for ongoing updates which they have already rolled out since my initial testing. Research is fluid. I’m totally self-taught, but have surrounded myself with “open and integrative-leaning” mainstream doctors to help tackle health issues. Must advocate for oneself.

When I ordered my genetic test there was an issue at the lab and they never notified me that the testing was processed. I emailed them a month later and said hey where is my test and they said oh it's been done. I asked why they didn't send an email and they said there was a mix up at the lab. I said if there's a mixup at the lab wouldn't you check to notify the people especially since you knew there was a problem. Nope, they don't care.

Also, when you order a test you are subscribed for a $99 a year subscription which I promptly cancelled as soon as I got into my profile. I don't want this subscription and certainly don't find it valuable enough to pay $99 per year. Even with a cancelled subscription, they charged my card anyways exactly a year later for the subscription that I already cancelled.

I don't think this is a good company. They read this review within a day and emailed and didn't address how I can cancel and still be charged. Harassing me through emails to change this review puts this over the top. I just blocked the support email. I'm taking off one more star for them coming at me over this review.

A lot of the information is technical, but credible and I appreciate the depth of the reports. This is a good business for people confused by all the conflicting diet advice.

As someone who has tried numerous health and nutrition tools, I found Gene Food to be quite valuable. The interface isn't perfect, and I would like to see more recipes, but the concept of the "20 diet types" is innovative and offers more than enough value for money, even at the premium "intelligence" tier. They add health reports over and above the base diet type like cholesterol absorption that aren't really available anywhere else. My experience with Gene Food was a positive one. I also enjoy the founder's email newsletter.

Frustrated!! Placed my premium order on Nov 4, 2024 and now Dec 20, 2024. Have sent several messages with no response. Have called and always sent into the general vm box. What can I do?? Thanks.

Very Disappointed in Gene Food, I ordered and paid for a kit 5-weeks later still no kit arrived, I have requested several times for a refund and a form letter response each time. I will assume the delays are the order was placed out of the US (Canada) and Gene Food is not equipped to handle out of country orders. The most disappointing is the lack of concern or response from the company.

Imelda was very quick to respond to an issue created truthfully by my own lack of followthrough. She was thoughtful, helpful and quickly found resolution,registered my kit and I received the results within hours. Above and beyond great customer service!
