In brief: Yes, the traps catch moths. The treatment may not be enough on its own though.

Had a moth infestation in my wardrobe.
4 woolen jumpers - 2 with lots of holes had to be thrown away. 2 with 1 hole each, could be repaired.
6 partly wool jumpers - poshest one (merino wool) had to be thrown away, others OK
10 cotton or acrylic jumpers -all OK (as you would expect)

1) I vacuumed and disinfected wardrobe
2) I put jumpers with wool content in freezer in a sealed plastic bag for 3+ days. Then washed them. Then stored them in plastic bags
3) I set the Mothout traps.

I caught a moth and a small fly over the next few months. Suddenly in the recent hot spell (May 26) I caught over 40 moths! Despite pictures provided by Mothout (and available elsewhere) I couldn't be sure what type they were. However you don't want 40 moths of any type in your wardrobe do you? After this, things settled down but I have caught a further 4 in the last month. The jumpers are all OK though, so storing wool content jumpers in plastic clothing bags, after purchase or treatment, seems a key strategy.

These little devices really work as is best evidenced to by the sheer number of horrible little flying things that they trap. Customer service from Mothout is also really good with very fast delivery and friendly follow up emails.
No connection other than as a very satisfied customer.

The traps are not unsightly like other brands

What I thought was a few moths eating my carpet in my spare bedroom turned out to be a nightmare,I ended up after ripping up my carpet and redecorating before putting down oak flooring, I bought some moth traps from Mothout to find out if there are anymore moths hiding, and to break the cycle, the communication from Tom from the Mothout team was great, he identified the moths from sending a photo that has been caught in one of the traps, he sent me a complimentary bottle of spray to spray all the corners and under furniture just in case there are anymore of the little critters nibbling away any where, I will continue to by Mothout traps until I'm satisfied that the infestation is totally under control,

Third brand I've tried, first one that has worked.

I ordered the moth out pheromone traps and was impressed with the speed of delivery and effectiveness. More so when I had a question the team were really helpful and gave clear advice.

In August 2025 I wrote a review to say that I would buy this product again. I have done so, and continue to recommended it to friends. Despatch is very quick, and two packs fit through your letter box (so no need to be in for deliveries). The traps are very easy to use, discrete, and - most importantly (!) - they work. A great product.

I first purchased in February this year. For years we’ve had problems with moths. The Feb purchase was preventative, and captured a few moths over time, however in last week we’ve seen area of carpet consumed by moths. I replaced all traps and the result has been exceptional. Purchased more today.

I use these moth traps all over the house and it's amazing how effective they are in trapping the wee buggers. They are effective for a long while and the pack contains enough traps to last a season at least.

Really quick delivery with lots of advice. Emails with advice and follow up too which is really helpful. These traps absolutely do work ( I was a little horrified to see how many moths were stuck in each trap! ). We will definitely continue to use abd change as we go throughout the year. I mean my bedroom one has 20 in it 🤮, so I want to put a fresh one in as I keep looking at it and feeling disgusted we had so many ! So easy to use and much better for us as we have pets. Would highly recommend

We have moved into an old house with a superficial makeover. We found damage to the carpet and suspected carpet moth. We immediately purchased a spray from a local supplier and this has been effective eg dead larvae. We searched for a suitable moth trap and decided on moth out. The product we chose came with a spray. The traps have already captured 1-2 moths in each room after a few days. Have used the moth out spray today but cannot yet assess the effectiveness. However the company has been very helpful with a follow up email after delivery. I sent photos of captured moths and larvae and they have responded swiftly with identification and recommended actions. So we plan to vacuum and spray weekly and this may include moth out spray. We will replace the moth out traps after the recommended 3 months. Thank you for your swift service.

This is my 3rd year of using MothOut moth traps. In the first 2 years I noticed a significant drop in the populations of clothes and carpet moths in our house, and I expect to trap very few this year. I have tried similar traps from other companies but none are as effective as these. MothOut customer service is friendly and helpful, with useful reminders of detailed instructions about moth control but without pushing sales. Prices are good too. Well recommended all round.

Fantastic company & products. I initially used their traps, not difficult to set up, also bought the hanging repellent for wardrobes, sent in photo of the moths caught in the traps to this company. Tom emailed me back & told me what they were & has been incredibly helpful where to put the traps & other useful suggestions, sprays to buy & what to do to get rid of them, brilliant company & products thank you

Moth out products are quite simply the best on the market.
I had a bad problem with clothes and carpet moths and used the spray for the carpet areas and traps for the clothes, although both can be used in areas interchangeably, the result was incredible. I never would have guessed that it had been so bad,but the products did a fantastic job and I now just use them in case the odd one arrives.
I thoroughly recommend the products and the owner Tom is a great chap, really helpful and friendly.

Excellent service! Easy to order directly and a very good product. At a good price too.
Have tried other more expensive products but have stuck with MothOut since discovering them a couple of years ago. These are great.
