MALTDAQ as company were excellent. UPS delivery was a total nightmare, it was 1st and hopefully the last time I have any dealings with them.

MLDQ Store is a shop which gives quick and easy access to the Maltdaq.com whisky trading platform.

Maltdaq.com is a member only site which brings together individual sellers and collectors of whisky, each of whom has been fully vetted before being allowed to offer their whisky for sale.

Whiskies in the MLDQ Store are sourced through verified sellers on Maltdaq and prices reflect the market prices available on Maltdaq at any point in time.

Every whisky received is thoroughly examined by our in-house experts. Once successfully checked we carefully re-pack each whisky in sturdy new packaging so that it is fully protected during shipping.

Disappointed with Unclear Information…

Disappointed with Unclear Information and Unexpected Import Duties!

A recent purchase through MLDQ has caused major frustration. The information on their website was very unclear, leading to unexpectedly high costs later on.

Unclear Information:
• Shipping Costs:
o everywhere there is stated that delivery to the EU will cost (€ 20 per bottle)
o For all deliveries made to countries outside of the UK, UK VAT will not be charged.
• Import Duties: There was no mention of potential import duties anywhere. This is crucial information that absolutely needs to be displayed on the website.

High Import Duties:
To my shock, upon receiving the order, I was hit with a hefty bill for import duties. This amount was not mentioned anywhere on the website, leaving me completely unprepared for the additional cost of more than 300 euros!

Consequences:
Due to the unclear information and unexpected import duties, my purchase ended up being significantly more expensive than anticipated. This is very disappointing and frustrating.

The website of MLDQ provides insufficient information and is therefore misleading. This can lead to unpleasant surprises for consumers. Additionally, the lack of clarity regarding import duties is unacceptable. I am very dissatisfied with my experience with MLDQ and strongly advise other shoppers to be cautious when ordering from this website.

I hope that MLDQ takes steps to clarify the information on their website and better inform consumers about import duties. This way, future customers can avoid unpleasant surprises.

Thank you for providing feedback regarding international shipments.

We’d like to look into this in more detail but can’t match the information provided with your review to our records of recent international orders. Please contact our support team (at support@maltdaq.com) with your order number so that we can do this.

We will also look to improve the clarity of the information provided on the site in addition to that currently detailed on our International Shipping page, which outlines that:

"In some cases your order will be subject to local sales taxes and duties upon arrival in the delivery country. These are calculated and levied at the time the package clears local customs.

All additional charges (for example, duty, VAT or import fees) are the responsibility of the recipient.

Customs policies vary widely from country to country, and the MLDQ Shop has no control over these charges.”

Wrong invoice

Wrong invoice. I paid SGD 803 but GBP 803 in invoice.

Looking into your order we can see that the amount paid (and detailed on your order confirmation) was correct and made in Singapore dollars ($SGD) and not British Pounds (£GPB).

Your order was dispatched on the 1st February but, unfortunately, the flat number was missing from the delivery address provided when the order was placed.

We’ve contacted you directly by email to clarify the correct address; as soon as we receive your reply we will confirm this with the courier and they will make another delivery.
