I got ripped off by San Jose Mitsubishi Service Dept.
I took my wife's 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander on 12/8/2025 for oil, oil filter change, and tire rotation to San Jose Mitsubishi Dealership, where we bought the car. During the waiting time Alex Merrifield, the guy in charge of the service department came out and told me some bolts were missing underneath the vehicle, I said they are very tightened from factory and cannot fall just like that. He showed me a picture I couldn’t understand and suggested that probably the bolts were removed in another shop, I replied, the only place I take my wife’s car for service if just right here, at the dealer. Later, Alex told me they found some bolts in the back (the shop) and put them in place; I am not even sure they did. After almost 3 hrs. waiting at the dealer for the car to be ready, Alex sent me a message that the car was ready, and all the services were performed. I received the paperwork, car key, and left. Then I drove to my wife's work as she was driving my car, and we needed to switch vehicles. As I was waiting for her to show in the parking lot, I started revising the new position of the wheels, which were easy to identify due to some scratches on the right-side rims, where I applied touch up paint to make those scratches not so obvious. To my surprise (a bad one), I realized that the wheels were in the same position they were in before the service. In other words, the tire rotation job was not performed. Therefore, we let Alex know about it in an email, which he responds by saying he will check out on this. Next morning I received a reminder regarding a new appointment for 12/16/25, but no explanation was given. I assume to finalize the service not done. I am afraid to take the car back as they can retaliate by making some damage to my car, like the story about the missing bolts The crew at the San Jose Mitsubishi service department are dishonest technicians and try to rip off the customers as they can especially on guys like me, an elderly individual. My wife went back to talk to Alex and the business manager, but they were not available, as usual. I texted Alex to ask him to revise the invoice for 12/8/2025, to remove the tire rotation service as it was not done, but he did not respond at all. I have lost confidence in this dealership as they do not stand for the customers but ripped them off. Why? I really cannot see why, and guess what, they don't care whatsoever. Terrible, isn't it?
