Mini Maestros Music & Movement for 0-5s - Believing in Every Child’s Potential.
What We Do
We want your child to thrive, so we make it easy to support their well-being.
We embrace different learning styles and make learning fun.
We combine wonderful local communities with passionate music teachers, resulting in new friendships and creative, confident and expressive young minds and so much fun and laughter.

We want every child to reach the primary school gates confident, excited to learn, and equipped with essential classroom skills and experience. We want every child to push those gates open with a skip in their step and a song in their heart.
Our 3 Step Process to Give Your Child the Best Start:
1. Enrol in a Mini Maestros class.
2. Let our age-appropriate, sequential, inclusive music and movement program provide a nurturing and fun space for you and your child to make social connections, develop confidence and be free to fully self-express.

Beautiful staff
The staff were very friendly and engaging. I felt that the experience could have been enhanced with a more engaging setting. It was great to go to to help your baby socialise and become confident around others. The songs, props, music, instruments and dance made the experience educational and fun!

We do keep our learning spaces intentionally calm and uncluttered, as young children focus and engage best without too many visual distractions around them — meaning more attention on the music, the teacher, and each other! We hope to see you back in class soon.

Great experience
Mini maestros has been great for my daughter. She loves singing and dancing and this gave her the perfect experience. The teachers are great and the classes are very engaging for my daughter.

Highlight of our week 3 years running!
We have been attending Mini Maestros for almost 3 years now and it's still the highlight of our week! With the help of our fantastic teacher Valerie, our little girl has grown so much in confidence and ability, and now she loves singing and dancing in every spare moment. She is always singing the songs at home or in the car, and it's been amazing to see how much the classes have helped develop her language and vocabulary too! I have made wonderful friends with some of the parents as well, so the sense of community that these classes have brought to our life is very special! Can't wait to see what future classes bring!

Wholesome & fun activity for my little one
We have done a term of Mini Maestros and my 1 year old loves it. The classes are thoughtfully put together and involve various musical and interactive activities, that are all interesting and fun. It feels good knowing my son is getting a positive introduction to music at a young age, and also he just loves it so much!

Fantastic introduction to music for all ages! My 7 month daughter loves her class - teachers very informative, friendly and welcoming with a lovely singing voice. Highly recommend!!!

Two toddling grandchildren love Mini Maestros
I bring my Two toddling grandchildren to Mini Maestros. We love it. There are delightful songs, stories, chants and dances just right for this age group. We especially love playing along with the instruments and our sparkly scarves. There is plenty of variety as well as essential repetition and our teacher Maddy is a superstar! I am already looking forward to next year and progressing my grandchildren's innate love of music.

Very nice set up. The teacher is flexible which is a huge help when you have 2 kids of different ages.

Bad experience when child struggled on first day.
Unfortunately, our experience at Mini Maestros in Ivanhoe didn’t go as well as we had hoped. We had enrolled for the term and received the bag with the bumblebee upon arrival. However, on the first day, my 2-year-old daughter was overtired since the class coincided with her usual nap time, and she was also in an unfamiliar environment with new people.
She became overwhelmed by the colourful instruments and toys that were stored in transparent boxes and wasn’t interest in sitting in the circle with the group… she just wanted to explore! When she started crying and becoming restless, I decided to take her out of the session to avoid disrupting the other children’s experience. I thought, better luck next week!
To my surprise, the instructor ran after us and suggested we switch to a three-week trial, even though we had already paid for the full term. I was a bit taken aback but agreed and then she then asked for the bumblebee back which naturally upset my daughter to have it taken off her.
I was shocked she asked for it back - it’s completely natural for a 2-year-old to need time to warm up to something new, and we had every intention of attending the full term.
I felt offended by how the situation was handled, as I’m sure my daughter would have adjusted by the following week. When I later decided to cancel because I no longer wanted to return, I was charged $40 for the session. When I questioned this, I was told the charge included the cost of the bag. I pointed out that the bumblebee which was inside the bag had been taken off us, and if we were being charged that much for one visit, we should either be given the bumblebee or have the cost reduced. The response was that the fee didn’t include the bumblebee, which I found unbelievable and a complete rip off.
I hope no other parent has to go through this kind of experience if their 2-year-old child is overwhelmed and struggles on the first day.

I am sorry you didn’t have a good experience in your first lesson.
We expect that children need a few weeks to settle in to any new environment and need time to become comfortable and confident in the new setting. Exploring the space and even some tears can be normal parts of the settling process, and we are very used to helping children through these first few weeks so that they have positive experiences in our classes. Unfortunately, your daughter was particularly distressed in that first class and frustrated when she was not able to take equipment down from the shelves and tubs as she wanted to. Given the situation, it was thoughtful of you to take her out of the session to avoid further disruption for the other children.
Because your daughter was distressed to a degree that we don’t normally encounter, I felt that for your sake it may be better to take the introduction to classes in stages and that is why I suggested changing to a 3 week trial. That would have allowed you to see if your daughter was able to settle in after a couple more lessons, and, if not, you could have finished up without having paid for the full term and all the equipment. This was a judgement I made based on my 30 years of teaching young children. I was not expecting you to leave part-way through the class and my decision to follow you out of the room when you left was out of concern for you. I didn’t want you paying for a full term and all the equipment when it appeared possible that this program might not have been the right thing for your daughter at this stage. Had you taken the bee home and then decided to convert to a 3 week trial (the cost of which includes a bag and music book, but not the bumblebee puppet), we would have had to add the charge for the bee to the cost of the 3-week trial. So, my reason for asking you (not your daughter) for the bee back was to save you money. My concern was you were both ok and that you understood that there was an interim option available to you at lower cost rather than committing to 10 weeks of something that may not work. I had to speak to you quickly as I had the rest of the group waiting for me inside the classroom to continue the class.
The amount you ended up paying ($38, not $40) covered the first lesson and the music book and bag you took home. You were not charged for the bumblebee puppet. 🎶 🐝💕 Mini Maestros

Was really disappointed with this…
Was really disappointed with this experience. We attended the Ivanhoe branch on Friday mornings and felt it was completely different to as it is advertised. In the promotions the teachers are singing and dancing and there a lot of interaction but in reality at every single class for 8 week the teacher played songs off her phone as she sat on a chair and half sung to the words... It is very expensive for the whole term and not worth the experience for the kids.

Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback. We are sorry that the classes didn’t meet your expectations on this occasion. All our teachers follow the same program, but each one brings their own teaching style and musical skills to the program. We work closely with all our teachers to continually build and improve their skills, and they all attend regular training sessions with us. It is a shame that you didn’t call or email us with some feedback after your first few lessons so that we could address this well before the term ended. Delightful
The center is easy to find, the music teacher had such a gentle manner and the children loved her. Well structured with a lot of interaction with the children and a great program for the little ones.

A great musical experience for childen and their adults

All activities are educational and fun. My grandchildren are always engaged in the classes. The activities are varied too. A lovely range of musical experience.
Naomi does a great job keeping all 10 students interested and involved.
Last week Naomi brought a violin to class. I thought this was great too. It would be great for students to see a brass or woodwind perhaps another stringed instrument
