What We Do
We want your child to thrive, so we make it easy to support their well-being.
We embrace different learning styles and make learning fun.
We combine wonderful local communities with passionate music teachers, resulting in new friendships and creative, confident and expressive young minds and so much fun and laughter.
What We Want
We want every child to reach the primary school gates confident, excited to learn, and equipped with essential classroom skills and experience. We want every child to push those gates open with a skip in their step and a song in their heart.
Our 3 Step Process to Give Your Child the Best Start:
1. Enrol in a Mini Maestros class.
2. Let our age-appropriate, sequential, inclusive music and movement program provide a nurturing and fun space for you and your child to make social connections, develop confidence and be free to fully self-express.
3. Celebrate and connect with your wonderful local community as you marvel in the positive developments your child makes giving them confidence and sense of well-being.

My daughter loves mini maestros. She has a smile on her face the minute we walk in and Julia is so passionate and caring with all of the children. Highly recommended for all babies that love music

First time at an organised class for my…
First time at an organised class for my just turned two year old and wasn't sure what to expect but we both LOVE IT. Our teacher Julia's enthusiasm for the music and genuine affection for each individual child is so lovely and even though there's a bit of singing involved for the parents if your child isn't keen, it's safe and nurturing environment and my daughter talks about her "music class" all the time!

Highlight of Our Week
Julia's classes are always a highlight of our week. My little girl loves them so deeply, she smiles from start to end. I love how small the group size is so that each child receives a lot of 1:1 education and care. My child has been exposed to lots of different instruments and learnt so much about music in a fun, engaging and interactive format. Furthermore she has learnt important group skills such as listening to others, waiting her turn, sharing, etc. Thanks so much mini maestros for a wonderful program!

Mini Maestros classes are the highlight of my week too! I am so lucky to be able to share my passion for children, and their introduction to music education. I believe in setting a strong foundation for music learning, coupled with skills which you mention, that are so important once the children go to upper upper kinder and school. The Mini Maestros program is unique in that it allows the children to learn holistically through play, and is so much fun for all involved! I am so grateful to meet beautiful families along the way – I look forward to seeing each and every one of them every week! Grandmother's views
Julia was always positive, welcoming, quickly learned the children's names and ensured they were all included.
Excellent variety of activities.
My only hesitation is concerning the age grouping. My granddaughters birthday is in August so as she is in the 1-2 year old age group she is potentially almost a year older than some other children. At that stage it makes a big difference. One day as we were leaving after a couple of the young ones had been clingy she said "I'm not a baby".... I think she noted the difference.
Perhaps two intakes per year would overcome that.
Overall she is always keen to attend and sings the songs when she gets home. She loves the finger puppets.

Thank you for taking the time to send in your review, Shirley. It’s great to hear you’re enjoying the classes in Black Rock.
Our classes work the same as schools in that children are placed in an age group based on their age as at April 30. This means that in each class there is an age spread of up to 12 months. All the children move up to the next age group at the start of each new year, just like in schools.
Being an August baby, your granddaughter, could be up to 4 months younger or 8 months older than other children in her Mini Maestros class. This will be the same when she reaches school. In the 1 and 2 year old class that you’re currently in, the children happen to all be on the younger side with most born in January - March the following year. We could certainly look for another 1 and 2 year old class for you which has a more even spread of birthdates, so that your granddaughter is more in the middle.
If we were to move your granddaughter up to the next age group (2 and 3 year olds), she would be well over a year younger than some of the other children because many of them have already turned 3. While she might cope with some of the simpler activities, our experience is that younger children are not emotionally ready for things like sharing, taking turns and working with others that the 2 and 3 year old classes require.
It’s great to hear that your granddaughter is keen to come to classes and that she is singing the songs at home. This shows she is absorbing all the learning in classes and then applying it when she is in her comfort zone.

I would highly recommend Mini Maestros for your child or Grandchild.
